Want to Join The r/TheLastAirbender Moderation Team? Apply Within (2026 Edition) + Minor Rules Updates
I) Join Our Mod Team!
Hey folks. The subreddit has continued to grow over the years, and with Seven Havens in October (plus more Avatar Studios projects on the horizon) we expect it become even more active in the coming months/years. As such we could use some extra hands on our mod team. Mods are responsible for enforcing the rules, responding to issues, and just helping our community to run smoothly.
Important Notes
- Our mod team uses discord to communicate with each other, so you must have or be willing to create a discord account.
- If you previously applied (or otherwise expressed interest) to be a mod here you are allowed/encouraged to re-apply.
- There is no specific timezone / availability requirement, and we are hoping to bring on a decent number of mods in general. But preference will be given to applicants who are available to help out when our American mods are generally asleep.
- Edit: Applications will remain open as long as this thread is pinned, which will be for another two weeks.
If you are interested in becoming a moderator on r/TheLastAirbender, please draft a message answering these questions and send it to us through modmail.
- Why do you want to be a mod here?
- What is your timezone? Generally how often and what times of day would you be available to help out on the sub?
- What is your age?
- What is your experience as a reddit moderator, or running another online space (facebook page or group, discord server, fan forum, etc)?
- Are you an active user on r/TheLastAirbender? Have you been active in the online Avatar fandom?
- What do you think of the subreddit as it is currently? Do you have any suggestions for improvements or events?
- Feel free to list any specific skills or anything else you feel may be relevant not already addressed above.

II) Rules Updates
Rule One: Be Courteous
- Added new clause "Some fans like different aspects of the franchise or different kinds of fan content. The comments of a Fan Art (or other creative work) post is not an appropriate place to express your distaste for the type of content or subject matter. "
- The rest of the rule was reworded/condensed but essentially remains the same, encompassing a wide range of uncivil behavior.
Rule Two: Keep Content Avatar Related
- Added the clause "Posts simply complaining about or provoking issues with other subs/forums are banned.".
Rule Four Spoiler Policy
- Slight rewording.

Remember to Spoiler Mark Posts & No Spoilers in Title! / Also See Rule 8 / Megathreads + Hub
Hey folks with user posts re-opening soon (albeit still filtered at least for today) I just wanted to make some reminders. Additionally I'll link some of the current/recent megathreads and news posts below.
Reminders.
- In regards to spoilers the mods will keep our eyes out and utilize automod as well, but we can't catch everything immediately. So please remember to spoiler mark movie posts and not put spoilers in the titles of your posts.
- I understand not as obviously important but stuff from the Seven Havens trailer should be spoiler marked as well.
- We don't want to overly restrictive in containing anything and everything to megathreads, but please try to look at what megathreads there are as well as recent existing posts before submitting your own post. The subreddit doesn't benefit from every user posting "i rate the movie x" or a hundred back to back posts about ASH's animation style.
- See rule 8 in particular 8 b/c

"Avatar Aang The Last Airbender" - Spoiler Discussion Thread
FULL SPOILERS (for this movie) allowed in this thread (and only this thread for today and at least part of the weekend). As a reminder, spoilers outside this thread must be marked until two months after the film's release and no spoilers in the title of posts.
- Additionally keep in mind that not all users here are caught up on every avatar comic/book , let alone news or leaks for Seven Havens. So please keep discussion focused on the movie itself, and if you mention other stuff for comparison/reference, please mark major spoilers.

(NON-SPOILER) Movie FAQ / Questions / Fan-Meetups
This is a thread where you can ask questions about the film / its release as well as just movie adjacent stuff like whether the soundtrack is in spotify right now or planning a meetup with other fans at one of the theatrical screenings.
All in a thread that is safe from plot spoilers, or at the very least if minor/vague spoilers are needed to answer a question please spoiler mark.
I) Important Movie Release / other info
- "Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender" (AA:TLA) is a feature length animated film following the ATLA characters as young adults.
- It releases July 25th on the streaming service Paramount + at midnight PT / 3am ET Saturday morning.
- Though limited screenings in NYC and LA, began this morning.
- Additionally there will be SDCC Screening, 7pm to 9pm PT
- EW Interview, Trailer (thread) , Poster, Wikipedia , Imdb , Fan Wiki Page ,
II) Movie Mini FAQ
- For the sake of brevity "No / we don't know yet" is currently the answer to whether the movie will eventually be available on other platforms, and how/when it will be distributed in regions without Paramount + .
- Q: What languages is the film dubbed in?
- A: It is confirmed there will be dubs for (Brazilian) Portuguese and German. I have not seen explicit confirmation (feel free to comment if you have) but I assume at bare minimum there will also be Spanish & French.
- Q: "What do I need to read/watch before this movie?"
- A: The only requirement is having seen the original cartoon ATLA, and even then its okay if you haven't seen the whole show in a while. That said if you want to watch LoK or read whatever before this movie that is totally fine too.
- Q: "Don't some ATLA comics take place between the show and the movie?"
- A: Yes, though again none are required to see the movie. But if you want to read some the most relevant for 'movie prep' is The Promise, and to a lesser extent The Rift then Imbalance.
- On a note related to the above, the official youtube channel recently posted a recap video covering the show in about 30 minutes then a brief overview of the comic trilogies.
