Pickup spacing question - Tele

I've recently been posting about my Fender Squier Affinity Tele HH. I like how the stock ceramics sounds so far but may want to swap in some Tonerider Alnico IV Classics in the bridge and neck at some point. I was today years old when I looked on the Tonerider site and noticed pickup spacing designated basically as standard 50mm center to center and F-spacing at 52 mm center to center. I also read that F-spacing originally came from Fender-style bridges, which often have wider string spread at the bridge than a traditional Gibson-style Tune-o-matic setup. but “F-spaced” does not automatically mean “for every Fender". Is it safe to assume that ordering the 52mm pups will result in an easy installation or are there other things I need to consider? Thanks in advance.

Rosewood fretboard treatment

Greetings, I’m a recent (again) owner of a new Squier Affinity Tele HH. Got delivered with no fret spout or rough edges, although I will buff the ends a bit when I get the strings off. While doing that, what suggestions would you have for treating the rosewood? The neck is playable and the guitar sounds good but the beginner fretboard feel is expected. Any particular oils or such everyone uses? Thanks.

NGD - Squier Affinity Tele HH

Greetings all, aside from a setup, what pups would you swap in that are good foe various genres: funk, rock, R&B. I’m thinking of Tonerider City Limits but open to other suggestions. Not necessarily looking for anything super high outputs. Thabkd for any experienced feedback (no pun intended) :)

Tex Mex pups in a Squier Strat

EDIT: Just ordered the Tonerider Pure Vintage Set - thanks everyone.

Hi all, piggybacking on a previous post I sent on a 2022 Squier Strat and mods I’d like to do. I’d like to get some opinions on replacing my stock pups with a set of Tex Mex. I’ll be playing a variety of genres and read that the TMs are a good choice for that. I’ve watched a few YouTube vids on the subject but thought I’d ask here as well. I’m open to any comparable suggestions. I got the guitar for $100 USD so not really looking to sink a ton of money into it mod-wise, just looking for a better pup choice. Thx.

Rescued…

Just copped this yesterday - typical story of owner playing once or twice then confining it to a the closet for years. 2022 Squier Strat Sonic Blue (Indonesia). I’d like to do some basic mods. First, I plan on swapping the pickguard out for a pale green. I fancy the gold letter Squier headstocks, so probably that. Pups for sure, but here for recommendations. Genre styles will vary from rock to funk. I have a Lace Sensor Golds on my other Squier but would like to go another route with this one. Thanks in advance.

New bike day

After weeks of research, I went from my 1988 Nishiki Rally 12-speed road bike to a Trek Domane AL 4 Gen 4. Looking forward to future rides.

#newbikeday

After weeks of research, today I went from my 1989 Nishiki Rally 12-speed racer to the Trek Domane AL 4 Gen 4. Nice experience and test ride at the Trek store, they even had a friendly shop dog. Now… to continue practicing getting in and out of these clipless pedals 😬🫣😆

Considerations for a professional bike fit vs not getting one

Hello all. I'm in the midst of upgrading my "vintage" Nishiki Rally 12-speed road bike to a Trek Domane AL 4 Gen 4. Aside from cycling as a youth, I've been doing it off and on over the last two decades but really want to make it disciplined part of my fitness regimen, next to strength training (which has always been disciplined). That said, what I'm additionally wondering about this go around is getting a professional bike fit done - something I never bothered to think about before. Generally how important is it to get one professionally done? Fees for such I see, on average, are around $200 USD. Aside from know my inseam and height matched to recommend bike size, what else could I do similar to what a professional bike fit could tell me? In the end, my goal is to go cycling for fun and increased fitness, my focus is for increased mileage accumulation, endurance, and strength. I'm thinking about also participating in a non-competitive local century ride this October. Thanks!

Thinking of upgrading from an old 12-speed racer to a road bike - recommendations?

My current bike is a 1988 Nishiki Rally 12-speed racer. I’m looking to upgrade to a road bike, which I haven’t ridden since 2024. My aim is to get back to city cycling for fitness, not interested in off-road. I know of the common and popular manufacturers like Giant and Trek, and will start the long process of researching what would suit me the best, but wanted to stop here along the way for any recommendations/ suggestions. Background about me: 63, 180 lbs, 5’11, male, regularly does strength training. Not looking to pay over $1000 or so. Hope my question isn’t too broad. Thanks in advance

Maschine/Massive/Massive X genre cross reference Excel Workbook

Piggybacking on the Maschine genre metadata and description file u/MrNoTip created, here's my version of an Excel workbook I put together what shows a cross reference of Maschine, Massive, and Massive X expansions to genre. I wasn't satisfied with the lack of genre categories NI used on their site, so I took genre keywords from all the expansions and expanded the list. The clickable links take you back to the website where you can listen to the demos, but the same descriptions I used are on the site. If you feel it can use some improvement, by all means have at it. Hope you fine it useful. Note, U=I created this before the Leap Expansions were made, so since I have Kontakt 8 but really don't Leap expansions with them (I personally see them like Leap Expansions are to K* like Maschine Expansions are to Maschine, at least the loops in the Leap Expansions can directly be used in Maschine). Anyway, here it is.: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1himbYSVc9c1vOqwF3X8nSqTlHziDMIgT/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=109513113176830606284&rtpof=true&sd=true
