My next computer will probably be a Mac. I remember when I first started using Quicken, everyone was complaining that Quicken for Mac was terrible. Does anyone have any recent experience switching and can you share your thoughts?

I have no heirs of my own and I'd like to leave some of the money that's in my in my IRA and 401k to my nephews. They are currently 20 and 14. I don't want to go through the expense of setting up trusts for them as individuals. I don't want to leave it to my brother (their father) with the expectation that he'd execute my wishes to distribute the money to them. I've spoken with Fidelity about setting up the beneficiary as:

"25% to [Adult's Name], as Custodian for [Nephew 1's Name] under the California Uniform Transfers to Minors Act until age 21."

"25% to [Adult's Name], as Custodian for [Nephew 2's Name] under the California Uniform Transfers to Minors Act until age 21."

but there's no way to do this online; I literally have to go to a Fidelity branch to get a paper form. I will do this, but I'm wondering if there's another way to leave them money that they wouldn't get access to until they are 21, 25 or 30, other than creating trusts for them.

My estates value is really just what is in my IRA and current 401K. There's only one bank account in my trust that's less than 50k so I'm really more interested in setting up the beneficiaries for a portion to my nephews.

We just dropped off a friend home on Durant Street in Beverly Hills, edge of Century City and a guy literally parachuted from somewhere and landed on the street. Totally fine. Landed on his feet. The U.S. Bank Smartly^(™) Visa Signature^(®) Card will be replacing my Ralphs Rewards World Elite Mastercard and I have no intention of using the new Smartly card because I have better cash back options with other cards I have. Does anything negative happen to your credit if you receive a card but never activate it?

I'm a type 2 diabetic with good control. In May I switched Endos and my new endo recommended the Libre3+. Old Endo wasn't a fan of CGM but I had always felt like they would help with food accountability so I decided to try it.

My insurance would not cover it but I decided to see if it would be worth the personal investment.

I got my first two CGM at CVS, they charged me $92, even with the co-pay card. I was supposed to get the first one free, but I didn't understand that the $92 dollars wasn't including one for free. It's been a learning experience. I don't live near a Costco, or I'd be going there for the out of pocket purchase.

My first month, I had no issues with failing sensors or sensors falling off. The only issue I noticed were some compression lows.

Into the second month, about eight days into the life of the first sensor, I got a pop-up on the app saying it failed. I contacted Abbott for a replacement, which they sent within about five days. The second sensor for that month failed after about two days where it was just reporting excessive lows. I contacted Abbott for a replacement, which they sent within about five days.

In the third month, I did do that waiting period between applying and activating it, I think that might have helped.

My third month in, just two days before the sensor I was using was about to expire, I finally had one pop off while getting undressed. I did not report it to Abbott because I didn't want to be flagged as someone trying to abuse the system. I applied another sensor with the Amolyfe Freestyle Libre 3 Plus Cover and have felt like the sensor is very secure and I'm not experiencing anymore compression lows.

I refilled my prescription for next month and this time they only charged me $61. I'm not sure if they realized the co-pay card should be giving a larger discount than it was before or not. I haven't had the time to argue with the pharmacy about it.

Anyway, I'm not looking for feedback, I'm just hoping my experience might help someone new to this.

I really enjoyed watching this and I will continue and watch its final season when it comes out, but I’m having super mixed emotions about a show with really no one to root for. Everyone is abhorrent. We see small glimpses of humanity occasionally but it’s rare. I thought I was someone who needed a character to root for but maybe not.

We love our apartment but the property just got taken over by a management company who is terrible (it used to just be one on site manager who was great, I know they all suck), our elevator is always out and we can’t have pets. It’s for these reasons we’re thinking about moving.

Does anyone have any positive experience with any LA 55+ rental communities that aren’t in downtown or the Valley?

I have received a debt collection from a collector called Unifin Inc for a Home Depot Credit Card notice via email. The addressee is not me, although our names are similar in terms of how the email is addressed.

I've never had a credit card with Home Depot like the email claims I have. I've never received anything in the physical mail about this debt nor a phone call.

I have checked my official credit reports and there is nothing under collections.

It's not a phish, I checked all of the links (didn't click on any).

The advice I've seen online has varied from do nothing because it's not my debt to begin with to write a Wrong Person Debt Dispute Letter (FDCPA) and send it certified mail.

It is not my debt.

What should I do?

Our only building elevator, after being out for two months for replacement, has broken again. The brand new motor burned out. It was broken on and off for years before the replacement.

While we wait on a replacement motor it’s out again. Is there any recourse for a broken elevator? Like a reduction in rent? I’m guessing not but thought I’d ask if anyone has had any luck. We’re city of LA.

On my walk this morning, I saw a Waymo driving down my street with a cracked front windshield. It got me wondering how I'd feel about getting into a Waymo in that condition. I realize that the car doesn't need to "see" through the windshield but I think it's a bad look for the brand. I wonder how long they'd keep a damaged car on the street?

I just took a Lyft because it was cheaper than a Waymo for my ride. Never again. The Lyft car was a piece of junk and the driver wouldn't shut up about his sad personal life.

This is new for me! I applied for a AMEX Blue Cash Preferred. I received a letter today that I was approved and the card would be arriving in 7-10 business days. The letter also indicated that because I had an existing Blue from AMEX card, they'd be transferring some available credit from the old AMEX to my new AMEX. It's not a big deal as I never use that old card and plan on using the BCP but I'd never seen something like this before. Is this common?
