Where is Sweet Haven supposed to be in the Robert Altman film?

Is Sweet Haven an independent island country somewhere? As a kid I guess I thought it was just a fishing town in the US, but then as an adult hearing they filmed in Malta, I’ve sort of just imagined that’s where Sweet Haven is. What do you think?

Vintage version of The Wolf and the Seven Kids

This is probably going to be difficult. I was born in the US in 1978 and when I was very young (probably 5 at the oldest) I had an old collection of stories with a missing cover- so I believe it was several years old at that time. Children’s stories and fairy tales but unfortunately because there was no cover I have no title. What I’m most interested is one story inside: The Wolf and the Seven Kids. I was fascinated/scared by the illustrations and would really like to see them again. I’d recognize a few of them instantly but can’t describe them much here, except to say that the wolf in the story had purple eyelids. The art style was very mid century: colorful gouache illustrations with lots of brush strokes and texture. I remember an illustration of the wolf’s eyes seen through a gap in the door, and one of him in the extreme foreground as he fell down the well.

It’s possible this was published on its own too, not part of a larger collection- I’d be interested in either version. If anyone collects old children’s books and can help me find it I’d be so grateful.

Edit: I have already ruled out the Ladybird version of the story.

What’s something that you didn’t appreciate until you rewatched?

Was there a theme, or concept or something that you just didn’t even notice, or couldn’t fully appreciate until you watched the show a second or third time?

Some caricatures of Piggy

I never like how idealized Piggy is in 2-d art, and I wanted to emphasize that prominent forehead, sleepy eyed look the puppet had in the early seasons of the Muppet Show. I actually drew these years ago but decided to add some color today.

My friend is learning to play the harp- help me find a bday gift for her

I have a friend who’s been playing the harp for about 6 months and I’m looking to buy her a birthday gift that she might find useful as she learns to play. $20-$30 is my price range. Any suggestions? What do harp players need or want to have on hand?

Is there a backstory for this little balcony with the curtains above Savi’s

I get two strong mental images whenever I pass this area: 1)Jabba watching the pod races in episode 1 and 2) Statler and Waldorf heckling from their balcony.

Manually adding songs to my music library

I don’t use Apple Music, and actually don’t use any music streaming services. I’ve always just ripped all of my cd’s and loaded them into iTunes and then put them on my phone. About 3 years ago something glitched and about 3/4 of my songs just became unavailable on my phone. They were still in iTunes and I could see the files on my desktop, but I got a message on my phone saying “this song is not available in your region. Tried lots of things and spent hours with apple support trying to fix it, all to no avail. Anyway, I’ve got a new phone now, and just tried to sync all my music and it worked fine- it’s all back in my phone, crossing my fingers that whatever glitch happened before, doesn’t happen again.

One problem I had before though that I’m trying to avoid this time is this: I create a playlist on my phone, called for example “favorites”. The next time I’d sync my phone by physically connecting to iTunes, the playlist would appear in iTunes. After a few more syncs I’d notice that now there are playlists labeled “Favorites 1”, “Favorites 2”, and “Favorites 3”, all just duplicates of my original playlist, or sometimes with more songs than the original. For some reason it was duplicating playlists rather than updating them. Has anyone else encountered this? I ignored the problem, and it didn’t seem to actually affect the playlists on my phone, but it seemed messy and like something that shouldn’t have happened.

TLDR: how can I avoid iTunes duplicating my playlists?

Can the EMH see with his eyes?

The EMH is a hologram created by the ships systems. When he’s in sickbay, presumably there are various sensors around the room to tell him(but really the ships computer) some basic things about anyone who enters the room. So when Janeway enters the sickbay, presumably, the ship sensors identify her, and tell the EMH program her identity, she appears perturbed, she is carrying something, etc…

Or

Does the EMH have functioning holographic eyes? Eyes that communicate with a functioning holographic brain, or even just send the info back to the ships computer which could then function as a brain?

Another way to think about this question, is if you brought a box into sickbay, that was enclosed and the rooms sensors could not penetrate, and you went into the box, could the EMH stick his head into the box to do a visual exam of you (meaning without a tricorder) and glean any information about you?

This all gets more complicated to answer with the inclusion of the portable holo emitter so let’s just consider Voyager season 1 EMH.

My wife and I are from Southern California and are considering a trip to Canada in September. Something quick, like maybe 4 days at the most. We are open to outdoorsy activities ( we’d love to see the natural sights) but we don’t want the trip to be all hiking and camping. My wife would appreciate good shopping and we both want good restaurant options. Where should we go?
