...We were moody as all hell, and took far too long off and away from working on music. We managed to crank this out in just a day. It's far from perfect, and we're still pondering where else to layer in some symphonic mud. ...Maybe we'll take a crack at our own rendition of "X" as well.
Looking for other opinions. Have yet to upload the videos of both yesterday and today after 22 hours. This section of the log was 99.99% clean yesterday, but today it has exploded to this in Florida with mild overcast, and some alternating heavy into infrequent rains.
What other fungi could this be at this growth stage? We are highly considering grabbing a few small samples from different spots if we can afford the petri dishes in an attempt to isolate, sterilize, and further determine what these are. If truly Lion's Mane... Would be a blessing to have found a local wild source to handle responsibly.

Well, we may have bit off more than we can handle... but if there was an exercise in sound production... Why not just handle such complexities with a Dream Theater cover? The Ytse Jam. This track is still undergoing a LOT of work... but we believe it's at a barely acceptable point to share. There is much more to be altered with filtered, more tones, and giving the percussion line the absolute respect it deserves.
Still very much a wip. Hoping to hear what needs fixing. ...or if we can risk more foxing. We're still undecided in how to shape and evolve it to push length and dynamics. Maybe sneak some further ambience and interpretative story telling.

We'll keep this brief as we have plenty on our plate already. So perhaps a direct hard assessment needs to occur instead of emotions and opinions leading the charge. Few people are truly super happy with the outcome of the steam release. We get this.
What we'd like to confirm, are the names and team behind this operation. Ensure they are among Masangsoft, and actually have the ~rights~ to have produced what they have. If there was some sneakiness, sloppiness, or rushed decisions, surely some details may surface there.
If this is a true ..ughhh.. "official" re-release... One way to look at it is: we're cooked. Or perhaps we find a new team to rebuild GunZ Classic International... This time with a group of folks more dedicated to the passion rather than the grind for $$$$$$. Truly, the legal side of things to do it well if MasangSoft is willing to discuss is not as difficult or intimidating as one may think.
Back to the studio for us... We're still seeking Gunz 1 and 2 soundtrack midis and sheet music, btw.
...it will be a lot of work, but it may be wise to do. Backtracking all assets as well. The rights to the game are easy, at least the code. The paperwork further does matter. As does distribution of sales. These are some small details folks can sleuth together to ensure any accusations are made proper with absolute supportive evidence behind it. Know how licensing works as well. We are no lawyers, but we are mildly versed in such. If any peculiar public releases are found or particular details, feel free to post them here for us to run through.
If they require translation, please absolutely ensure the translation is perfect or lines up well across many attempts/translators. Yes, it will matter. :)

The would be response: Not a business whatsoever. We are asking key questions. More than happy to remove any aspect of my threads that are inconsequential. There have been many complaints regarding borrowed, stolen, questionable assets, supposedly many hour hours put into a game that appears to have made zero changes from the initial beta. I do believe the game and its players have a right to know where their money and time is going to.

There are many rather... rough game remixes already worked on as it is. Some in 100% fox soundfont. Others mostly. 700+ and more unique fox tones to work with. We will say in first working with this stuff before finding how difficult they really are to play with in ~music~... We have never laughed or cringed as hard as we have in testing some of these potential war crimes.
Working on many songs... many of them. Not just game remixes either. We have a few examples involving some of the fox tones in previous works but nothing... intended for... we'll.
Not sure if we should spoil some of the awful yet... still earworms of songs. But we can say; Darude Sandstorm, Cotton Eye Joe, and plenty more are in the works.
Here's some of our past work already, albeit the only thing truly meme-y about this is the low quality it was for the time.
The key to great science-fiction and general story telling is having all the absolute worldly facts straight. It was in the process of building some lore and background for potential music before we stumbled upon a new interest. We've been photographing a number of various fungi about our region... only to stumble upon a peculiarity.
We are near positive this is some sort of bolete or calobolete, yet we are unsure as to what kind just yet. We have suspicions, but this is in a more lived region of Mid Florida, found from a relatively small yard/grove space. Oaks about among with a wide number of ferns, other shrubs, trees, the soil being a mix of sand, dirt, refuse shells from seed pods, acorns, leaf litter, grass and weeds.
The primary images we have are of an aged sample we opted to pluck given its peculiar shape against everything else... only to find the next budding growths of fruiting bodies to also be rather warped. Images shared, and hoping to hear your thoughts.
Odds are very high this is just a common Bolete that has seen a strange balance in nutrition or fungicide. ...if we had the funding and space, we would adore to get more accurate samples ourselves. This field needs more feet on the ground as it is.

2 & 3: More likely eaten by insects than grew that way? Possibly tore itself in strange ways in growth and other influences?
4: Top down, largest cleanest side grew towards west.
5: Among very same perimeter as the first, one day later after a rain storm.

7, 8 & 9: Younger fresh growths. Also same region, could not confirm if we had snapped these when younger the day prior. ...Note to ourselves, likely bring some tag references for future photos. :)
Glanced back a bit ago to realized some of yall enjoyed the first post we slapped in here, and cannot thank you all enough for the support. <3 This is.. well, not sure yet. Was simply experimenting as we like to evolve entire soundscapes as a song progresses.... but the trick there is; we need to have it done in specific layers a few times to really feel it out. Takes time. This is just the pair of songs before any real attempts to blend. The first... kinda... alien but goofy? Basses still low and not imposing, gently building to some degree with crunchy old 8-16bit sounding percussion. ...but if you want to skip that 'garbage'... 3:10 minutes into the vid, We encourage you to just not waste your time and listen to the song starting from there... :3
Think we're getting better... now time to get some original stuffs out there, or open up a request or 'bounty' board for desired midis, or ways to transcribe some old classic game soundtracks that are not publicly available, or even created at all yet. ....Starsiege Tribes, Tribes 2, Gunz: The Duel, Gunz 2, a LOT of the Command and Conquer series... as well as some genuine artists we would love help with tackling respectful covers with.
Late Edit. .....Lmao. We should also mention another noob mistake. We simply have not bothered to import or otherwise disable the midi tracks. No outputs there, but we suppose we do need to clear that up going forward. We may be making tutorials to encourage others to just ~go at it~. Maybe this came somewhat natural to us, but we also adore teaching.
Attempting to reignite a passion project... We've been itching to cover the Gunz 1 (as well as 2) OST, but the available media to work with is limited. If anyone may have access to a transcriber, we are more than happy to credit you for your contributions. While we are amateur and still entering, we hope this example of our quality will be enough motivation to relay that we are in fact dead serious about this project.

With our plates being rather full (and being flat broke and unable to shop for a transcriber), we are hoping to find and credit someone willing to build more available midi files to use for music, as well as the community.
We've been hoping to tackle a few cover songs or remixes from the soundtracks of both Gunz and Gunz 2, but battling the time it takes to perfectly analyze everything by ear is quite the task. This isn't exactly a huge priority on our list of things we'd like to do in the studio... but those tracks were our childhood and upbringing for a long while.
If we had to just pick ONE song to cover as well...? The lobby music. The classic lobby.
