This set is fucking amazing probably the best one all weekend
I was watching literal aliens perform a fucking dope ass set on tv… I think they just gained a new fan.
Watching the FOV livestream stoned asf right now, I’ve never listened or watched any live performance of ADP before but holy shit what the fuck are these people trying to say? They’re speaking in some alien ass language and jamming bruh this is incredible but also kinda weird.
Been dealing with PCD for the past week, and I thought I'd cope by recreating the stage setup in Minecraft. Downloaded some random hockey arena map off of Curseforge and basically recreated Tame's stage setup based off my photos and videos. To be fair, I'm not the best builder in Minecraft, but I think it turned out pretty good. What do you guys think?
Tame Impala in Toronto is officially in the books, and I’ve got to say, this was something that I think I will talk about to my future grandchildren 50 years from now. The fact that we got POSTHUMOUS FORGIVENESS tonight is something I will never forget, ever. You’re telling me that Kevin played a song that hasn’t been played since the TSR days, just for us? I have been DYING for a brand new addition to the setlist for us in Toronto, and the fact that we got it tonight is just AAAAAAAA I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT TO SAYYYYY. My back is killing me right now and I think I’ll need to be in a wheelchair for the foreseeable future lol, but holy shit was it worth it. For the people who have yet to see Kevin’s production, holy shit it is going to change your life. No other concert experience will ever top this, ever.
I am grateful for the opportunity I had to be in Toronto this weekend to see Pond, and Tame twice. Truly such a great and meaningful trip. Being able to meet and spend time with people who share the same music tastes with you is such a spiritually beautiful experience, even if it’s just for a short time. Tame has got me through some stuff over the last few years and being able to see him live with my own eyes in an arena filled with other fans is something I’ll always cherish for the rest of my life. Thank you, Kevin for creating this awesome musical project with songs that inspire people to push through, and be stronger individuals when faced with the challenges of life. I wasn’t able to meet with you or get your signature, but you put on such an incredible show this weekend that I think you don’t owe me anything else.
I’m BACK up here in Toronto for the second night of Tame Impala goodness. Djo’s set was fucking amazing and we have only 25ish minutes left until Kevin gets on!! Let’s fucking GO!!!
Excuse my excessive screaming as I was VERY amped up lol.
Taken from gondola box 2, row 1, seat 15.
Holy. Fucking SHIT man what a show! They don’t lie when they say there are no bad seats at a Tame Impala concert because while I was way up in the gondola boxes I still fucking had the time of my LIFE tonight!! The light show was fucking incredible man the only thing I didn’t like was that the people next to me weren’t really into it but that’s ok because I get to RUN IT BACK tomorrow night in the lower bowl!
Also the afterparty with Mango Tango was fucking lit man! This shall go in the books as one of the greatest fucking experiences a human being could ever experience on this planet. Can’t wait to do it all over again tomorrow! VIVA LA TAME IMPALA!
All the way up in the gondola boxes but at least I get to enjoy the light show to its fullest! So excited!!!
Holy shit man, what a fucking show! This was my first concert ever, and I was completely blown away. Nick’s energy was honestly next level, did not expect him to act the way he did tonight. And my boy Kevin Parker was in the house tonight which made everything better. 10/10 experience!
So excited! Driving up from Rochester NY to see Pond for the first time and both nights of Tame Impala!
For me, either Expectation or Sundown Syndrome.
Man, time does fly. I remember the first time I listened to this song was in the Barcelona DJ set video, when Kevin played his new song, and I thought to
myself “no way a house track was gonna be released under Tame Impala lol.” Of course, I was proven wrong.
It feels like yesterday when this song was released and everyone losing their shit over it because it wasn’t the Tame Impala we all knew. And to be honest, I did have a hard time listening to it at first, it felt sonically different from his past works and had a more mainstream poppy vibe that was kinda off putting at the time. But over the past year, this song and the rest of the new album have really grown on me. While I don’t think it’s the best stuff he’s ever put out, I can now appreciate the approach he did with this album, he tried something new despite his previous identity with psych rock, and did it in a way that still incorporated his talented musical abilities, just in a different style.
I know a lot of people here wanted Kevin to stick to his Innerspeaker and Lonerism roots, and while I don’t disagree with that I also think it’s important to realize that artists have a right to evolve if they want. If they want to pivot from one music style and gravitate towards another one, they should be able to. Sure, they’ll lose some fans and that’s gonna happen regardless, but at the end of the day it’s their career and they don’t really owe anyone anything. And the good news is, the older stuff is still there for the OG fans to listen to, and for newer fans to discover and hopefully enjoy.
The whole Deadbeat rollout last year was met with a lot of criticism for Kevin, and it ended up causing division among the fanbase. I wanted LP5 to be inspired by Lonerism, Innerspeaker and Currents. I wasn’t too thrilled of a house album when we realized that’s what we were getting. Also wasn’t a big fan of the album artstyle when that came out. But then I realized that it’s simply what he wanted to put out there, and we could either stay and try to enjoy the music, or go elsewhere. I choose to stay and it ended up growing on me immensely, but I also understand those who dipped out and that’s okay.
Anyways, what do you guys think of End of Summer approaching a year old and the Deadbeat rollout in general being a year ago? Have the songs grown on you? Do you feel the same as you did last year? Let me know in the comments.
