Had a post a week ago about looking to buy my first 3d printer. I'm kinda leaning towards the P2S or the X2D. Don't have a timeline but could probably wait it out until black friday if there are deals usually to be had OR if new products are dropping which will lower the price of the existing lineup of items.

Anyway, person on marketplace is selling a BNIB X2D with AMS 2 Pro combo for $1100 CDN ($771 USD). My two questions:

1. Would this be considered a good deal? On paper it looks like it is but you know the deal... trust but verify lol

2. What should I be on the lookout for when respect to buying something BNIB from marketplace?

I can afford retail pricing without issue but I am human and like to save a buck or two when it's an option :)

I am generally a buy once, cry one person. No issues spending on quality over crap and paying s premium for it.

I really want to invest in some better quality layout and measurement tools (starrett and woodpeckers for example) but I'm not sure they are going to pay off for the stuff I work on right now.

Reason? Most of my milling and cutting of material is done at my community shop. We have great tools (sawstop PCS, king jointer and planer, king bandsaw, 5x10 cnc. With exception of the CNC most of the people that use (err abuse) these machines would be the type to adjust a table saw blade with a sledgehammer. So I am at the mercy of the machines accuracy. It's usually good enough which messes with my OCD mentality lol

I will have my own shop and machines in the next 2-3 years when our house and shop is built but for now I gotta make due. So, do I really want to spend for precision quality instruments right now knowing they are unlikely to make a big difference in the quality of items that I produce hence wondering if there is something, relatively speaking, just as good without the massive price tag associated with it.

I've seen some chatter about "#22 ❤️" this morning with someone in comments on IG saying they thought a player died.

I haven't been able to confirm with my contacts yet so wondering if anyone else heard anything?

Really hope it's not true. We just went through this a few years ago with the Ottawa player which was a few years after a previous Ottawa player.

Going to be building a router table and trying to decide between these two lifts. Is the Mast-R lift really worth $300 (CDN) more than the lesser expensive version? What can the more expensive version do that the other cannot?

I dont do a lot of router work that I NEED a dedicated router table but I already have a cabinet the same footprint of the route table I want to build that has drawer storage so retrofitting it into a router table will be fine for me. Wanting to build it because I will have a lot of shaker doors and drawer faces for new cabinety and using the table saw is tedious af lol

Neighbour and I have a shared driveway. Their side is bad. Ours is decent but I'm cool with having it redone. I know nothing about this industry but it feels shady af lol

My wife, being a civil engineer has worked on a lot of parking lot design and paving jobs but they are all commercial projects so she can't really provide guidance.

We have received 3 quotes which are all in the same ballpark. 3K, 3200, and 3600. Where they differ is in the warranty period. 3K company is a one year warranty, 3200 is 2 year warranty and the 3600 is 4 year warranty.

Total area is around 650sqft.

Are these quotes reasonable and what is a standard warranty period for this type of work? 1 year seems crazy to me given the ebb and flow of freeze/thaw cycles of our winters.

Long story short, want to build a nice cart to house my new weber kamado. Want to use doors and drawers for an enclosed look to house the accessories and whatnot.

It will sit under a a covered patio so won't be too worried about extreme moisture but will still live outside for all season use (Canadian here so we get plenty of snow).

I've built exterior chairs, tables, decks, arbors, etc but nothing with drawers or doors for exterior use. How much will I regret this? Lol

Anyone done similar and had it hold up for an extended period of time? Best (wood) material and joinery options to use? I have plenty of western red cedar but had been considering thermally modified ash as well.

Obviously I know the easiest option is just open shelving but trying to take it up a notch if possible.

Obviously using a miter guage or crosscut sled (sled in my case).

Been looking to purchase a 2 year old E6 in great condition. Owners say they never registered the warranty so I called weber (Canada) to make sure the warranty could still be registered. The answer provided was no.

So my question, how prone are these grills to warranty claims? The owners are selling wanting to sell for $1100 CDN with unused diffuser plate and a cover. New price would be $2400 CDN.

My initial plan was to buy a new one but wanted to see what the used market looked like and funnel the savings into a thermometer and accessories.

Not sure what to do.
