What's happening to my feed

So my feed usually recommends me some random old shit, but I swear this is the 3rd or 4th time a video with this exact same title appears for me. I remember the other one was an strange clown and the other just some guy I guess. I haven't clicked any of them. My name is not Daniel, and my Birthday is still far away. What the hell is happening

Why does the Lifeform walk like this? Is he stupid?

Genuinely look at this, what the hell is he doing? Why is he moving like that? He looks like an freaking Minecraft SFM (the bad ones), his legs are literally floating like an character without walking animation. Btw why is it so small in this scene? He was reaching the rooftop when he first appeared. And how does he run so fast with these stick legs? Doesn't makes sense.

So, what's up with Mary's plot?

When I watched the movie, I ended up not understanding shit about Mary's plot. After reflecting for a while, I managed to arrive at a good interpretation, but to be honest I don't see many people discussing about her plot so I'm unsure if any of this is right.

My interpretation:

Mary's mother was a crazy woman that kept her trapped for most of her childhood. Mary would look out the window, wishing she could open the window of freedom. Eventually her mother was institutionalized, and the scene of the house being demolished represents Mary's being free from her cage, but she was never truly free. She kept that concrete mold in the shape of her hand and became a psychologist as a way to erase her guilt over not being able to save her mother. However, when confronting Clark, she realizes that she can't save him, she can't save anyone, just as she couldn't never save her mother (Btw, this scene being a moment of clarity for both of the characters). She finally breaks the chains that bound her to the past, using the concrete to rid herself of Captain Clark (who would represent her desire to save her clients), she opens the windows of freedom, but just to found herself trapped again inside of A-Sync.

Despite what other people say, I don't think Mary's past and her mother has anything to do with the Backrooms. That scene of her house shifting into Backrooms is just an way of showing that the Complex is capable of recreating places of the past that don't even exist anymore, perhaps reconstructing the places based on peoples memories, but getting it more and more wrong. It's also an scene that represents Mary's cage slowly shifting into an way out, but that keeps her trapped, now in the Backrooms. Her Still Life also serves to explain that anyone, at any point of time, might be recreated in the Backrooms, but also serving to show again how she is still trapped like she always was.

People ask what will be Mary's fate, but it's very clear in the movie. She is never going to leave, A-Sync will keep her trapped forever just like her mother did, and she will keep looking out the window of her cell (just like in the end scene), wishing she could open it for her freedom.

That's what I could make out of what I've seen, I would be happy to see other interpretations of her story with things that I might have missed/got wrong :)

Things the movie confirmed for the lore + other details

Just watched the movie yesterday, those are all the important details for the lore that I noticed:

• The Complex is constantly expanding, trying to emulate physical places from Earth, wich was already implied in Found Footage #2. It's generating things in real time, confirmed by Captain Clark and Mary's Still Life's, Clark's store recreation or the Kate and Bobby Dissapeared posters. It seems it generates places and things from all periods of time (since we see several recreations of Mary's house, a shirt about the end of the apartheid) or is trying to emulate memories and experiences as well. Pretty much anything might have it's own version on the Backrooms, wich means The Complex might be bigger than our own universe.

• Still Life is confirmed (first time seen in Found Footage #3). Still Life lifeforms seem to be a caricature of their real-life counterparts. Although they often act merely as objects, they embody the emotions and behaviors of their original versions. Captain Clark is agressive because of Clark's nature and fucked up mind, the little guy in the chair lights up his lighting when it is dark, and the woman with red hair, wich represents Barbara or really is Barbara, is afraid of Captain Clark. This indicates that Clark used to hurt Barbara, and probaly Captain Clark did the same with her Still Life alike.

• Still Life seems to be made of fungus, probaly Hay Bacillus, wich explains why they are edible on the inside. Although Captain Clark seemed to bleed in the final scene, I'm not sure why, maybe because he eats people and that's changing his biological structure. Hay Bacillus may have been the first organic creature to be created in the Backrooms, this makes me wonder if we'll ever see Animal Still Life's? (The bird in the start was a real bird tho)

• The Caveman are being mass produced by A-Sync and being used as baits for the creatures. We see a lot of them throught the movie, and a room full of them near the end. That makes me wonder if the caveman we see in Found Footage #3 was made by A-Sync or the Complex made them and A-Sync tried to replicate it.

• The Complex can affect the real world back. Not only null zones, but it seems the Backrooms can also expand to the real world, as we see in the circuit breaker scene.

Other details I noticed or heard from other people:

• That place with the big chair found by Clark is very likely where Captain Clark spawned, we can see it is the same chair but bigger, theres also a recreation of the parrot clipped to the ground, and Kate's and Bobby's shoes also clipped to the ground, wich also means they might have an Still Life version out there.

EDIT: We also see the same cane used by Captain Clark but larger in one of the scenes

• There are probaly other Still Life seen in the movie. I could spot a hand in the dark of the Stop sign room when Mary's enters the Complex. I've seen people mentioning other Still Life's in the background, we need to watch the movie again to confirm that.

• I have a theory that Captain Clark was messing with the furniture. That's why we see a pile of stacked furniture when Clark enters the Complex, notice how the furniture progressively goes missing, probaly taken by Clark or Captain Clark. There are also other places where we see lots of chairs stacked, they can be clones made by the Complex or Captain Clark trying to "organize" things.

• Clark "tamed" Captain Clark by feeding him the body of Kate. That's implied by the painting on the wall and also the fact that Kate's body is being kept on a fridge.

Finally finished the game after almost 10 years of larping

So long story short, in 2017 my dad brought me this game "DmC: Devil May Cry" for my X360 and I immediately fell in love with it. It didn't take long for me to acknowledge the original franchise and get my hands on the games, and I've became obsessed with it. So, I was not completely honest in the title, because I do have the feeling of finishing DMC 1 way back in the day, but I'm unsure if that's real or just a false memory from watching several videos about the games, because I couldn't remember *a lot* of things while replaying it.

Why did I "hate" DMC 1? Well, mostly because "it wasn't what made me fall in love with the franchise" wich is indeed true but also was the thing is preventing me from playing an amazing game. This feeling dragged for long years and I was one of these people that say "DMC 1 is outdated", "it lost it's spark", but now I can fairly say that this is all bs.

Game's holds pretty well till today. It's easy to say the gameplay is weak when you have 5 other titles today, but looking by the view of the time, this game was way ahead of his time. It plays like an OG Resident Evil but with full control of directions and aerial gameplay (I know it's hard to process how amazing this is today but remember that RE had 2D scenarios and tank controls). The simpler gameplay is actually one of the best things of this game, it's nice not having to worry with insane combo mad with jump cancel or guard flying or whatever, having to use the menu to change weapons makes the flow slower but also forces you to use the weapons more efficiently, and also the animations are pretty cool.

Speaking of Resident Evil and scenarios, oh my god man this game is beautiful. I played the HDC wich does not a good job of remastering the game but I *still* thought it was beautiful (I would kill to play this on a PS2 and CRT TV), and it's a shame that we lost this dark eerie vibe of this game. In the past I'd say that I hated the Resident Evil progession of this game but it actually works pretty well, and actually the game is pretty linear. It is divided in short missions were your objective is pretty obvious, and it works very well, way better than DMC 3 wich has some pretty confusing moments. It also felt really fun to find secrets in this game, although I missed a lot lol. Plus, the OST in this game is, along and just behind DMC 3, the best one (I like Casey Edwards or the anime Nu Metal etc, but the Industrial Metal in this first games is unbeatable).

It's really hard to put into words but the game is pretty fun the way it is. Wich worries me a bit if the DMC 1 Remake is really on the works, I wonder how Capcom will work with this game, if they'll keep the fidelity of the vibes and gameplay or make it like the chaos that 3, 4 and 5 are.

Why is this paper LS map larger than the others?

I have 4 physical maps of GTA V, one of which is considerably larger and of better print quality. I had put them all up for sale (except for one personal), believing the larger one was simply the PS4 version, but now I'm not sure, and I'm afraid it might be from a more valuable special edition (many people became interested in the announcement early on, which is strange). Can someone clarify this to me? (I'm not at home at the moment I'm writing this, so I don't have a picture of the maps side by side)

DAM is underrated

Keep seeying these "[blank] song is underrated" posts, so decided to bring a really underrated one. Of course you could say this about any Storaged song but Dam specifically is special.

I love how it doesn't even sound like a SOAD song, the echo and sinister atmosphere is something else, and the bad quality only makes it better. It's scary, almost gothic, remembers me of something of The Cure, like One Hundred Years, but with more distorted vocals. It's so disheartening, I can barely understand what Daron is singing here. In the lyrics, he seems to be blaming someone "Damn you", "Fuck you". He seems to want to be left alone "Stay away from me. I got a disease" the disease can be literal or a metaphor for being psychologically injured. The repetition of "Everyone is sleeping" intensifies the loneliness felling, and in my interpretation, it could also mean that... everyone is dead? Also, this and She's Like Heroin are the only songs in SOAD sung entirely by Daron, wich is amazing because for a long time I tought that this was Serj singing here

Bullets will very likely be remastered next year

Very obvious post but analyzing the pattern, Three Cheers got a 20 year remaster, Danger Days a 15 year remaster (although a bit late). So only multiples of 5 (which is common, it wouldn't make much sense to release a 14th birthday album for example...). Bullets is turning 25 next year, and is the only album without a deluxe version yet.

Unless they decide to remaster Conventional Weapons or some bs like that

Floating Self-Sustaining Greenhouse with an Elevator

Image 1: Front of the base (top)

Image 2: "Elevator" entrance (I still need to fix the staircase somehow)

Image 3&4: Greenhouse. You may notice it is still not as "green" as it should, that's because I still need to bring some plants from the floating island!

Image 5: Fish farm in Alien Containement, mostly to fuel the bioreactor

(Forgot to add the image of the room on top of this one. It has an Bioreactor, an small aquarium and a water filter)

Image 6: Scanner Room and Mountain Island

Image 7: Solar Pannel Farm and Exterior Cultive (BOTH INCOMPLETE)

Image 8: Prawn suit garage

It's been almost a year since I finished this game for the first time. I always see people refering as this game as "the gameplay is boring but the story is amazing" and I cannot understand how the hell they got to this opinion playing the game.

The story is good? Yes. But it suffers a lot from the way it is told and it's pace. You start the game not understanding shit, then the background lore is slightly explained, and now you understand slightly shit, and this continues until the very end of the game when you still don't understand shit until the last 2 hours of cutscenes that makes it all come together. And I'm not saying that this is bad, I LOVE the ending of this game and it blew my mind but it is still lame that this game is too much "abstract". The lore is so complex that the characters need to be way too expositive and somehow you still end up confused by everything that's happening. Game also lacks more cutscenes, and therefore, some characters could have gotten way better development. Combine that with a mostly silent protagonist and you get me feeling like I'm playing MGSV all over again, the only difference is that somehow MGSV still has more cutscenes, more character development, and the ending revelation is not that necessary to understand all of the previous events, that being a game that had cuts on most of the missions and story.

That being said, I love this game's story, but I maybe love a little more the background lore and the amazing gameplay. I haven't played DS2 yet so I don't know if these elements got better in the sequel!

I was thinking of reviving my old Xbox 360 to try to download some Source games like Orange Box/Portal/L4D2 and I noticed that after this gen Valve abandoned consoles forever. Despite Portal 1 and 2 being ported to the Nintendo Switch, we never got a new release of the Orange Box to PS4&PS5 or Switch 1&2, wich is pretty sad (I think Xbox is the only one still playable if you had purchased it because of retrocompatibility). Even Alyx that is 6 years old now never received a PSVR2 port.

Yeah I know things are not like in the past anymore cause they have Steam wich is a money printer itself, meaning they don't really have to release their games to other platforms. But it's still sad, Valve was really engaged with consoles in the past, HL1 had an exclusive DLC on the PS1, and we also had the amazing HL2 OG Xbox port. And with Steam Machine coming I don't really see ports coming anymore, It's a shame we'll never be able to experience these amazing titles on our home consoles ever again.
