Caine making their bodies and rooms reflect their insecurities makes him look like a massive piece of shit.

So Caine must know how humans work if he's able to do that right? Especially since he has access to their mind files? Why bother asking someone about their personal issues when you can just open a ben_dover.scan file and know about shit they'd take to their grave, and then use it against them in their amazing digital purgatory.

And then everything about Caine is fixed by removing bubble. And how he somehow perfectly able to not be a asshole. If bubble was controlling everything, that makes Caine not responsible for his actions and makes him look dumb for not just saying "Sorry guy, bubble was controlling me" if Caine was in control, then it feels like a major personality shift happened in a matter of minutes without any justifiable reason.

Bro, your not clever man. Fucking everyone can see that shit. No one thinks your cool, no one thinks your funny. Are you genuinely this attention deprived? And this losers entire post history is about girls beating them up. Imagine being on a normal subreddit and seeing this asshole there. Fuck this guy.

Jax is a shitty person, but is she a shitty character?

I want girls to bully me

As time goes on, I can't exactly nail down my frustrations with this purple bunny's writing. Sure a lot of screen time is used on Jax when it could've been used on other characters (including the so called "protagonist"), but thats more of a series writing issue more then a character issue. Jax is a massive piece of shit, but a bad person doesn't make a bad character. So what makes her so frustrating when compared to other asshole character?

Jax never faces serious consequences for her behavior. Shes not ostracized by the rest of the group. And it doesn't help that everyone seems to have The Amazing Digital Brain Damage. When Jax tries to connect with Pomni about Gangle being a "loser" she points out that Jax threw her ass out of a moving truck. And yet not even 5 minutes later their stargazing together. In the bar when she says "remember that time you got high at MCdonalds and told Gangle to kill herself" No one ever points out that that didn't happen. Maybe Gangles too afraid to point that out but Zooble was near Rags throughout the entire fast food sequence.

After Jax pushes the button, SHES the one who decides to brag about how she was right the whole time and after Zooble rightfully calls her out on that shit, Gangle is the one to stop them. Jax gives Kinger shit for "deleting" Caine, everyone just stares at her ass and doesn't say anything. Jaxs first reaction to finding out their clones is mock the Zooble and Ragatha. And the worst she gets is a "shut up, Jax." from Ragatha.

Even excusing Jax's actions here, these are such obvious ways to interject interesting character conflict in this character driven show. And it's just, not there man. It's like every character has the patience of a saint and knows that Jax is just wittle baby to needs to be coddled and no one ever should pushes her the bad things shes done.

This series is kinda disapointing

TLDR: I hate Jax as a person cause she was mean and abusive to everyone despite so much of the cast trying to help her.
I hate Jax as a character because she eats up the limited screen time just for an unsatisfying ending

The scene where Pomni stares blankly into the distance while she comes to terms with her new reality is one of the best scences in the show. It also makes me wish that they kept the psyche horror theme. But no Jax needed more screen time

I found all the C&A stuff facinating. How did they go under despite them making an AIs and brain scanning tech? How is the computer still on despite the building being abandoned? Why do abstractions happen. Why can the cast members conjur stuff. But no Jax needed more screentime

How did Queenie abstract? How did Scratch abstract. Kinger mentions that he was "The first abstraction." and he had a brain toumor. Did he intentionally put himself in this game as a way to avoid his death? We'll never get to know because Jax needed more screentime

All of the character stuff is interesting. In episode 4 Gangle says that although she thinks Ragatha's nice, its hard to tell how genuine shes being. This could be a really great concept to explore. Or how Kinger is trapped by his own creation. Does he feel guilt for making him. After he "deletes" Caine does he feel bad that he spent so much time and effort developing a technological marvel just to accidentaly put him down? Well we don't ever get to know cause Jax needed more screentime

What about Pomni, she starts off trying to leave the circus, (not the most destinctive goal since most people probably would) but its something. But that motive is dropped after episode 1 and she starts to become a vehicle to explore other characters. It says a lot that Pomni's tourture scence is based off of an event in the circus rather then some personal insecurity. But no Pomni isn't the protagonist, shes the cameraman to record the JAX show.

How does the cast react to finding out that their clones? Do they find comfort in that their real selves are still living their normal lives? Do they have an exestential crisis over how "real" they truly are? Do they ever wonder what would happen if someone shuts down the computer or the program crashes? Nope its glossed over and then we get MORE FUCKIN JAX

ITS ALL FUCKIN JAX. This fuckass rabbit goes from slightly assholish jokester to abusive parasitic leach. Jax's greatest hits include but not limited to abusing and blackmailing Gangle so hard that SHE FLINCHES WHEN JAX MOVES. Gaslighting Ragatha into beliving that she told gangle to kill herself. Throwing Gangles mask down the horror door. Telling Gangle "I like you better when your sad." And after episode 7 where the whole cast is shaken up by everything that just happend MF TAKES THE TIME TO MENTION THAT SHE WAS RIGHT THE WHOLE TIME and that everyone else was stupid. When they learn that their all clones her first reaction is to use Ragathas mom to put her down.

After this I thought "Oh, Jax maybe the biggest jerk I've ever seen, but its probably because he has some horrible trauma. Something way worse then any other cast member. Maybe Ribbits abstraction was what lead to Jax going crazy. Right?"

What Jax went through was bad obviously, but not enough to even begin to justifiy her behavior. Ragathas mom was shit, but she isn't an asshole. But no Jax's parents sucking isn't what causes her to be this way. It starts with Jax and Ribbits relationship

I understand that Jax's coming out to Ribbit may have been clear as day to some audience members but it completley flew over me and a lot of peoples heads, which is what makes Ribbit giving her the bowtie even more special. She was able to decode what Jax was saying despite her being vauge.

But then as if guided by the hand of fate, Kaufmos cruel hands knocked on the "The Evil Door That Makes You an Abusive Asshole" And Jax's tune switches completely and starts pushing Ribbit away despite her reacting positivly to her coming out. And during their fight Jax accuses Ribbit of manipulating her, and due to Jax's actions, she abstracts. Ribbit did nothing wrong

So Jax has first hand experience that pushing people away is bad for both her and others, but she continues to do it despite both Kaufmo and Ragatha reaching out to her to comfort after her friend just fuckin died. But nope. She decides to quadruple down. And bullies Gangle the moment her ass enters the Circus. Probably would have abstracted if it wern't for Zooble.

Despite everything she did, so many people tried to help her. Ragatha, Pomni, Kaufmo, Zooble, even Gangle defends her ass after the "look at how smart I am" speech after she pressed the button.

"Isn't she lovely?" "Isn't she precious?" "Isn't she wonderful?" NO! I know is supposed to be Jax coming to terms with herself (I have no idea where that arc was) but wonderful is the last words I'd use to describe her. I don't blame people for thinking that it was about Pomni, cause of how much of an asshole Jax is.

I don't know where to put this but Jax abstracting offscreen is so unsatisfying. Yea I know suicides arn't usualy seen. But scuicides don't lead to gigantic monsters that you hug to find out their whole backstory. So I'm willing to suspend my disbelief.

I don't know how to end this. Uh... who does everyone main in smash.

I will forever and ever despise the fakeout death trope until the day that I die.

Nothing in this world will ever inspire as much rage and hatred as fakeout deaths. If I had a full drum magazine and I was in a room with reality TV, Popup ads and fakeout deaths, I'd shoot the entire mag into fakeout deaths until it had more lead then flint michagans water. But even after checking fakeout deaths pulse, and getting that shit autopsied then nuking the corpse it would still come back due to some vague writer magic bullshit.

It feels like they want their cake and have it too. You want the emotional shock of killing off a character, but you don't actually want to deal with the problems that actually killing of a character has. But having them come back just feels like your cheating the audience out man

I think the worst example is the >!"Somehow Palpatine returned"!< line in that >!one star was movie that was so bad that video essays bashing it have become its on genre on Youtube. !<I didn't even watch it and that somehow still pisses me off.

Despite calling herself "The funny one" Jax doesn't make a single funny joke in the series This was actually a subtle hint to Jax being trans girl, as women aren't funny

u/NertyNat — 2 months ago

Kinda wish we got a Kinger and Jax episode or at least see them interact more. Their dynamic would have funny.

"That truck went down harder then Kingers wife went down on me last night!"

"Jax, shes down in the cellar, not down on you. Are you sure your thinking right?"

(Imagine that but with a writer that knows how to write jokes that arn't cringe)

Or like a scence where Jax opens up to kinger and then flashbangs him to prevent him from sharing it or something.

Jax's friends abstracted and she coped with it by being mean to everyone and never opening up about it. Kinger coped with it by going insane yet was still able to open up about his issues and be there for those that needed it

Jax has shitty parents and Kinger is a pretty good parental figure

I feel like there was something there but just was cut for time for some reason. Maybe this wouldn't be a good Idea since people complain about Jax having so much screen time it turns the show into Jax's Amazing Digital Victims"

Doesn't Jax have specific trauma about physically pushing parental figures?

Wasn't even like a reaction or "in the moment type thing" mf just walks up slowly and ( ̶d̶o̶w̶n̶ ̶s̶m̶a̶s̶h̶ ) pushes Kinger

Unrelated but wouldn't it be really funny if Caine googled their names and found a completly different person with the same name.
