Any experience with these charities supporting the Haitian community?

Hey! I would like to donate to a local organization supporting Haitians in NYC now that they have lost Temporary Protected Status due to a recent SCOTUS ruling.

I googled and found:

- Haitian Americans United for Progress (HAUP): Located in Queens Village, they offer immigration, resettlement, and community support services.

- Haitian American Alliance of New York (HAA): Based in NYC, they protect the health, education, and welfare of the community.

- Catholic Charities has a Haitian outreach program

Does anyone have experience with any of these organizations and recommend them in particular?

Joan Cusack was SO GOOD in Toy Story 5

The enthusiasm. Urgency. Disgust. Delight. All the above. Joan Cusack CARRIED as Jessie in TS5 -- she gets a ton of lines to really shine in this film. I know it's just voice acting, but I hope she gets some recognition for this role.

How will Assembly member Diana Moreno help LIC?

She got elected a couple months ago, but seems more focused on Astoria. Any focus on LIC?

Can't sit at Court Square Park on a Saturday due to water sprinklers

Why water the plants in the middle of a hot day and also wet the benches so no one can sit on them on a Saturday? Very bizarre if we want people actually sitting at the park on a Saturday

What are the best locally owned Boba shops in NYC?

I saw an interesting comment on a video about all the Boba shops popping up [1] describing it as gentrification from China. Most of these Boba / Bubble tea shops flooding NYC are not actually owned by people here in the City or the United States.

That said, are there any that are American or locally owned? I'd love to give them my support! Especially as many local immigrant shops have disappeared over the years.

I live by Queens Plaza. Best running routes nearby?

Just moved. I guess the obvious thing is to run to the water and run along Gantry. Curious if people have other go-to routes.

There are no pizza shops open at 11pm in LIC 😭

This is not a real neighborhood. Real NYC neighborhoods have Pizza at 11pm to eat after watching a Knicks game.

Why does switching trains result in double pay for LIRR workers? This doesn't make sense for taxpayers
