please tell me this effect is reversible

I'm a CHR (clinical high risk) and I've been taking Abilify for about 10 months, on average 5 mg although for a period 10 mg, and now I feel like a total idiot, my memory sucks and it's like I've lost the spark I used to have in my thinking. If I taper now, and stop taking it forever, will the effect be reversible? Or has my brain been "destroyed" by now?

How to approach deep learning from a mathematical perspective? (with the goal of becoming a researcher)

Hi everyone, I'm in high school (I failed twice, embarrassing I know but I had various problems) and I would like to be a research scientist in the field of deep learning, I decided to do mathematics instead of taking the standard path with computer science at university,

so at the moment, in the summer of the fourth year of high school (in Italy we have 5 years of high school) I'm reading books on rigorous mathematics (real analysis, proof-based linear algebra) (struggling a lot), and since I hate the classic machine learning courses found online (I prefer books in general),

I was wondering what was the most rigorous way to approach this field (maybe after I have tackled multivariable calculus), I know that most of the knowledge comes from papers but, a general book would be handy, is "deep learning" by Goodfellow a valid choice or is it now out of date?

I'm not interested in DL libraries at all, and I'd like a source as formal as possible. In fact, I'll probably only use numpy and cupy (or even pure CUDA) until I start my PhD. (In general, I have good experience with programming and neural networks; I even created transformers with only numpy \[a sort of tensor micrograd\], but without fully understanding what was going on.).

Do you have any other general advice? Does this kind of atypical path make sense?

desperate request for advice

ok, I've made a few posts similar to this one, but they were always very vague and didn't quite capture the position I'm in, this will be the last one, here's more or less my story:

I'm 19, still in high school and I'm interested in deep learning (totally self-taught), after considering mathematical formalism useless for years, I recently realized how extremely important it was, and so I decided to finally learn from formal books to better understand deep learning architectures (in addition to a general interest in mathematics).

So I started very stupidly with analysis 1 by terence tao, of which I found the first 2 chapters challenging but very doable, in short, I managed, but from the 3rd onwards everything became difficult and slowly I gave up.

then I moved on to linear algebra done right, same story: first chapters good, then it became impossible, so I tried caluclus by spivak thinking it would be easier (everyone speaks well of it), result? even more impossible exercises.

So I realized I have a problem with mathematical proofs, so I went down a level with Velleman's How to Prove It, it's much easier than the other books, but I still consider the set theory exercises impossible, and the basic proofs on numbers and functions don't seem to help me in the proofs that are seen in formal books.

I ask you, reading this situation from the outside, what exactly would you advise me to do? I wouldn't want to wait until university to do all this.

Does it make sense to learn 3-style as your first BLD method?

Hi everyone, I'm a pretty bad cuber (sub 30), and I wanted to learn BLD, now, I learned how old pochmann works for edges and corners, and if I try I can solve by looking at the cube, but I would need something faster, something that at a medium low TPS can take me under 1.30 minutes maybe, the most natural choice would seem to be M2/OP, but the problem is that I hate memorizing algorithms, and since M2 has many for special cases I would discard it, so I was thinking of using OP/Orozco, but seeing the J perm video, Orozco also has enough algorithms, and hearing about 3-Style being devoid of algorithms (that is, it is full of them, but it is like f2l from what I understand, they do not need to be memorized) it seemed like a reasonable choice to me, only that everyone describes it as extremely difficult, is it really that difficult or doable? seeing the J perm video it seemed difficult but not exactly impossible, so what I ask you is: does it make sense to learn it now? or are there other easier methods without algorithms?

Hi, I wanted to ask if there was a cheat sheet for blockbuilding of Roux, a bit like the various PDFs for F2L of CFOP

Weight gain with Zoloft: how to fix it?

Hi everyone, until about 2 months ago I took 100 mg of setraline daily (and in parallel with everything I always took (and still take) 5-10 mg of aripiprazole, even though the latter had actually lowered my appetite), subsequently lowered to 0 with tapering under the supervision of my psychiatrist, in the period of time I took it (I don't remember how long, maybe 4 months or a little more) I gained a good 8 kg (I'm a 19 year old male, 1.74 cm tall, I went from 58 kg to 66), I was monstrously hungry, I could eat kg of food without feeling full, and so the weight gain seems reasonable to me, except that, now that I haven't taken it for 2 months, the hunger hasn't gone away at all, I sincerely would like to lose the kg I gained even if my BMI is perfect, do I have to wait any longer? or maybe this hunger is now permanent?

Weight gain with sertraline: how to fix it?

How do you handle it when someone confirms you that you suck?

I have AvPD with narcissistic traits, and of course I hate myself like crazy. I've also created a huge list of my flaws, which I may not share here because it's long and depressing, even though, in my opinion, they are undoubtedly true. In any case, is it normal for me to feel extremely bad about it when someone sees the list and confirms those flaws are correct? I mean, I know those flaws are true, but when someone explicitly confirms them, it's horrible. Do you too, even though you are aware of your flaws, feel bad if someone confirms them? How do you handle it?

How did you learn to do proofs?

Hi, I'm in high school and I'm reading some formal mathematics books (Linear Algebra Done Right and Spivak's Calculus) and even though I understand the content of the pages well, when faced with the exercises I feel totally helpless. I can actually do, I think, one per chapter, even in Spivak's chapter 1 (which, out of 25, is quite embarrassing), I just don't even know where to start 99% of the time, and often what's being asked seems so obvious that I don't even understand what there is to prove, so I was wondering, how did you guys learn to write proofs? I seriously thought about giving up, it makes me feel too stupid, even after an entire notebook filled with practice of problems, I feel like i learned nothing

Atelier of witch hat Grimoire edition, dove arriva? quante pagine per volume?

performance issues on Linux after update

Hi everyone, I'm on Linux Mint, and since I updated the kernel with the update manager (which I assume also updated obsidian), when I'm in full screen the graph view lags (I don't even have 50 nodes), the strange thing is that it only does it in full screen, I have hardware acceleration enabled on obsidian and I have a very powerful PC, does anyone know why this happens?

I don't understand this set theory problem solution

It is from Analysis 1 by Terence Tao, I just don't understand how that should prove that A ∩ X = A, to my eyes it only proved that x ∈ A, I'm actually stupid?

(Given A to be a subset of X)

Next we show that A ∩ X = A. Suppose first that x ∈ A ∩ X. Then x ∈ A and x ∈ X, so in particular x ∈ A. Conversely, suppose x ∈ A. Then since A is a subset of X, we have x ∈ X. Thus we have both x ∈ A and x ∈ X, which means x ∈ A ∩ X as required

How to upgrade without breaking everything?

Hi everyone, this is the second time I've installed Mint (I'm a total Linux noob, I've only used Nobara in the past), and in the previous installation, after running sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y, it worked but it basically broke the installation: my network card no longer worked, and practically all the basic functions had disappeared, it felt like I was on Arch Linux, how can I avoid this in the next update? I've procrastinated enough

Struggling with the exercises in Terence Tao's book Analysis 1

Hi everyone, I'm reading Terence Tao's book "Analysis 1." Is it normal for me to have extreme difficulty with the exercises in Chapter 2? Some of them seem truly impossible to me, as if he hadn't yet given me the tools to solve them. What should I do in these cases? Should I bookmark it and come back after continuing with the book, or should I keep trying until I get it right?
