So i’ve been asking around on reddit for various careers however I am simply unable to get positive advice. Nearly every subreddit i go into its just this

- “Hi guys, how is this career like? Is the pay good, what is the lifestyle like”
The replies (no matter what career) are all
“Hello, i FUCKING HATE MY JOB, they pay me 1 CENT AN HOUR, and you should SWITCH IMMEDIATELY”

I’m js so burnt out. For example i am doing an accounting degree cus people said it was good but i went on accounting subreddit and everyone said it sucks and to jump ship. But when i try to look for other careers their subreddits are the same. Its exhausting. Wtf am i supposed to pick if every job sucks and pays like crap

As somebody who has very little dating experience, wants a girlfriend, but generally isnt attractive enough to do do, i often struggle with getting ANY positive attention for women.

For example, i have a female friend i met at a badminton club and we text sometimes and shes super nice and very attentive like sending 7 texts in a row or being enthusiastic. And even that attention makes me start liking her even though i have to snap back into reality and realize shes just being nice and i know im not her type at all.

Getting positive female attention is like getting a bottle of water when you’re dying of thirst in a desert, and i keep mistaking it for something its not.

But then i realize how will i find a relationship if i assume every girl im talking to doesnt like me? It just seems impossible to figure out which is which

I’m in spot 1 trillion and one, will i be able to get the best spot? I think i am in a good position, guys do NOT leave the queue

Currently doing my accounting degree. I started it because people told me its a decent paid consistent career. Not big money like investment banking or surgeon but comfortable.
However I’ve heard a lot about accounting being a bad field nowadays, pay going down, AI and outsourcing taking away jobs.

Is this true? Should i jump ship to another degree is it over for accounting

28M 5’5, I have a decent body (around 12% bodyfat), lots of hobbies (some decently skilled, played badminton at a high provincial level in high school and uni, I am also RCM level 10 on flute and piano, been playing since i was 8), and I work as a tax lawyer in Canada.
I’m asian (kazakh), fairly ugly, and as mentioned previously 5’5. I’ve been trying to date since 8th grade and got on all the dating apps on my 18th birthday including spending hundreds on boost and premium subscriptions. I got a few matches but nearly all of them ghosted me instantly or it didn’t go anywhere.
I’ve basically tried so hard yet ive never gotten a girlfriend. Some female friends told me they like my personality but “im not their type” or too short.
The fact i’m still a kissless hugless handholdless virgin at this age is a bit brutal. I don’t know what else to do

I have always been quite passionate about going into law (and no not because of Suits…), however I’ve been seeing a lot of doom and gloom and I’m not sure whether its possible to be successful.

Currently I’m a first year university student doing accounting. My goal is to get into corporate law but preferably tax law. Is it true I will be low paid unless I go into big law? I’ve also seen a lot of “big law or bust” on this subreddit.

So people often think that for short men dating, all you have to do is be taller than the woman.
I was talking about heightism on TikTok and somebody said “i dont get it, if you’re 5’5, just date a 5’1 girl”.
In reality, i see short men having the most success with women close to their height / slightly taller.
Girls below 5’2 often have the strictest, 6’0+ height standards. One of my friends was rejected by a 4’10 girl for being too short (hes 5’7), yet a girl that was 5’10 was heavily into him. It makes zero sense.

With the majority of dating moving online, social media skewing standards even more, while its proven economically short men earn less. What is the point of living? How can you have a good life if you have no girlfriend or wife, no money, disrespected by other men. Just seems like my height has doomed my entire life.

What do you guys do, do you just cope via hobbies or substances or what? I’ve always dreamed of having a family but i am starting to think i will never even hold a girls hand.

Does anyone have any tips what to do for the rest of my life, what do i even aim for if i cant have a family and ill just be lonely.

Can anybody who took this class and got a good grade in it tell me how difficult the class was?
So his ratemyprof is quite confusing. On one hand, he has a very high rating, with people saying hes a funny and great professor. On the other hand, a LOT of people say he is a harsh and unfair grader and his quizzes are brutal, i dont get how he can have such a nefarious grading reputation while having such a high rating. Are people only rating him well because hes funny and not cus they care about their GPA? I need a high gpa because im pre law so im stressed about taking a course where his quizzes are "brutal and unfair", however I just wanna make sure thats true and not just fear mongering from people who didnt study.

I've watched the show a while ago however the show keeps getting revived and with it lots of opinions about different things in the show.
Something I keep seeing, is that people hate on mary and george for babying sheldon and overshadowing missy and george, but I think people lose their sense of realism when watching the show.

Do we forgot how brutal academics are in the real world? To most parents, it is everything. Look countries like China with the Gaokao, an 8 hour exam that decides your entire life, or South Korea's intense exam culture. In America, the intensity drops slightly, but it does not mean getting into a good university is easy, look at what people are doing since middle school to have a chance of getting into Ivy League schools, academic competition increases yearly.

I have a friend whos brother is just a normal nerd, he takes a few AP's and gets good grades and got into a decent uni, and just that is enough for them to treat my friend poorly to the point that he wants to move out just because he dropped calculus, and hes probably gonna be forced to move out. This is what happens in the real world.

If 90% of parents had a child like Sheldon, a generational physics prodigy who does the family's taxes perfectly, and doesn't need to apply for top uni's (top uni's begged for him, they literally went to his house to convince him to go to their school for free), compared to Georgie who literally dropped out of highschool, they would immediately disown Georgie. My asian parents would crucify me if I got less than 90 on a test, let alone dropped out.

So when i've seen this question on this thread, many people are using an ipad as a laptop replacement or to multi task.
if I am using full screen note taking app and then my lecture or whatever on my laptop, can I save money and get the 11 inch instead? Has anyone done this and had any issues, is the 11 inch big enough for comfortably taking handwritten notes?
The reason is because I only afford either the 13 inch air, or the 11 inch pro, and I would much rather have the M5 chip and 120 hz screen, but I am scared that the 11 inch could be too small.

I am a university student trying to upgrade my PC. I have an rtx 3080 10gb, but with 4k gaming and low vram, it does not perform great, especially with PCVR its unplayable for most games, I need an upgrade.
However, the upgrade I wanted (5070 ti) has raised in price. Its at 1400 CAD right now minimum. While I can save for this, by the time I get that money from my part time job, the 5070 ti will be out of stock or 2000+ dollars, so unless I can magically create 1500 CAD this month, I'm too late for the 5070 ti.

The only option left is the notorious 9070 XT or smth like the 7900 xtx or xt
on paper they perfom well, have good vram, and are less than 1500 which is probably my max budget for a card.
The issue is everyone says AMD is garbage. No matter where i go, I only see people saying you should avoid AMD at all costs, it makes me really contemplate whether I should stay with my card, or just drop my entire life savings on whatever overpriced nvidia card exists, like spending 3k on a 5080 or selling my car and buying a 5090.

I want to switch but all the doom and gloom about amd makes me rather pull out all of my savings and buy once cry once an nvidia card because at least theyre consistent

Also, I play PCVR, and I heard that AMD is terrible for VR so wondering if this is true

I know people have asked this before, but I want specifics because whenever I see this question asked people just say "NOOOOOO IT IS THE WORST! I HATE PHARMACY!!! NEVER DO THIS JOB!!!" So its really hard to find actual information.
Based on research, it doesn't seem that bad. In my city, the average is around 110-120k. Starts lower maybe around 90k a year as a new grad, but im sure with experience you can make more and I was thinking about doing a residency to break into clinical work.

Is it really that bad? I am seriously considering pharmacy but the doom and gloom on this subreddit makes me want to consider smth else
