Staccato XC build advice

Found a local shop I’m considering for some work on my currently stock XC. I’m looking at:

Top inline porting
Marvel disconnector cut
EGW ignition kit
Red Dirt flat trigger

The goal is basically to make the XC as fast, flat, and soft-shooting as possible while keeping it reliable.

Anyone here running a similar setup? Anything on that list you’d skip, or anything else worth doing while it’s apart? The only other thing I’ve considered is an Atlas Black Alpha grip kit.

This is my first time having significant work done to a 2011, so I’m trying to do my homework before I start permanently modifying an already-expensive gun. Would especially appreciate hearing from anyone who’s gone down this road with an XC.

Everyone says their 2011 is the best. If budget, wait time, availability, etc. were no object, what’s the ultimate 2011? Who makes the absolute best of the best, and why?

got some shots back from the photographer at the drive i did over the weekend, thought i’d share.

this was a cool rally. we had a police escort to shut down intersections, on/off ramps and side streets ahead of us which allowed us to cruise through as a group. love the car community here in DFW

pickup truck drivers are the biggest douche bags on the road. if that offends you, read on my friend, you’re my target audience.

I’m not talking about people who use their truck for work or towing. I’m talking about the guys who refuse to let anyone merge, get offended if someone accelerates faster than them, roll coal because they think it’s funny, take up two parking spots, and drive like the road belongs to them.

You guys treat every stoplight like a competition, blind everyone with your poorly aimed headlights and light bars with your shitty rough country lift kit, tailgate EVERYONE regardless of the lane they’re in (you get a pass for that if they’re left-lane-camping tho) you tow nothing 99% of the time, block intersections cuz you’re inpatient and insist on squeezing through. Turn signals are non existent and if i use them, it becomes a competition to merge. Roll coal on pedestrians. Dude the list goes on and on. So fucking annoying.

I grew up in rural New Hampshire. I’m a redneck at heart, and I used to be that guy with the big, loud, lifted diesel truck pissing everyone off. Looking back, it was embarrassing.

This rant is because I just had a guy in a Silverado pull a gun on me after getting mad that I didn’t slam on my brakes so he could merge from an on-ramp. That’s not the same thing as refusing to let someone merge in stop-and-go traffic. If you’re entering a highway from an on-ramp, you’re the one who’s supposed to yield. Apparently that was enough to make him lose his mind.

Rant over. I’m sure they’d be really mad at this post if they could read.

McLaren owners, can they handle being driven daily and used as normal cars, or do they prefer to be weekend warrior/garage queen toys?

i’m currently in an R8 and i have this fantasy that im going to buy a McLaren someday. i looked into the 570 platform and the 650 prior to buying my R8 but decided id prefer a manual transmission right now.

eventually id like to end up in a 600LT or a 720s, but id probably start off with a 570 or 650. my question, as dumb as it may be, can a McLaren handle being driven daily and used as a normal car like my R8? i drive it everywhere, i look for excuses to drive it. i’ve taken it on road rallys, i plan to track it eventually. i’ve used it to pick up groceries, i drive it to and from work everyday.

will the McLaren hold up, like for example high touch interior parts. will it be reliable, or will my intended use of it turn it into a money pit? my goal is to determine if McLaren ownership is even possible with how i intend to use the car, and put this fantasy to rest if it’s not right for me. i know myself very well so i know if i owned one, it would be driven basically everyday, the same way ive used my R8, 911 and E63 AMG.

thanks in advance!

has anyone been able to safely install an infant car seat in their gen 1?

i read the owners manual and it says the car has a weight sensor that determines if the airbag should be on or not. my understanding is that it has to be off and the car seat has to face away from the dashboard to safely transport an infant or young child. just looking to see if anyone’s done it and if it’s safe to do so. thanks in advance.
