How can I just not buy ANYTHING but essentials?

I've had an issue with shopping for years. To the point where I've shopped before eating.

My fiance and I managed to buy a home this year and it's been great! But my shopping issue is becoming worse because I want to consistently decorate...

I want to fix my debt, and to do this I CANT spend on anything but essentials :(

How can I do this? I've started by deleting online shopping apps.

Senior dog with arthritis

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone else has an arthritic dog? My girl is 8 and diagnosed with arthritis recently. We have her on a senior diet and she has salmon oil every day. I'm not too sure it's enough? I really want to make this easier for her. I've been recommended CBD but I'm not seeing any pet friendly stuff?

Just worried about my pup and managing her pain.

I'm gonna try at home methods before pulling out big guns at the vet. If need be I will go that route, but for now she's doing alright. When we took her to the vet the vet said it's not necessary at this time.

I'm assuming she is what I was told but I just want some extra opinions?

This is Lily, she's an 8.5 year old heeler, border collie, rottie, German shepherd mix. I met her parents and her mom looks like a rottie with some white, and her father looks like a small German shepherd. I'll include pics lol, obviously she's backyard bred, we got her before I knew anything about dogs and I paid 150$ for her off of Kijiji.

Just a few things on her, she's quite small, she's around 40lbs. Shes incredibly well behaved and trained well. But when training as a puppy she bit ankles a lot, she hasn't done that since then though. She loves to learn and knows a ton of tricks. Her recall is fool proof and she's insane for a game of fetch. Shes slowing down a bit now but she won't let that stop her. She's genuinely the best dog I could have ever asked for and her breed doesn't matter to me I'm just curious!

Posting her parents in the comments!

Is sky dragon worth it?

I used to have a lot of the dragons, hit a really rough patch in my life last year and sold them unfortunately... I miss them so much. I have not seen a single dragon in the wild since and it turns out my local store has the sky dragons... I impulsively bought one for pickup tomorrow but I'm worried I made a bad choice :( is she worth it?

Using gentle heat saved my Wulver

I just wanted to share that about a year ago I tried something that genuinely changed my favourite plush back to original condition.

My Wulver is VERYYY loved. He is so important to me, he's been on many many trips, funerals, hospitals, a move, heartache, and many many happy times.

I had over washed him at a point because I have diagnosed OCD and it surrounds around things I'm attached too. I would over wash him, brush him etc and it made him really worn looking quickly. Because I worried he wouldn't be "perfect" all the time, it actually made him much worse.

I was so heartbroken when he looked really ratty, I stopped cuddling him for 4 months once.

Then I watched a bunch of restoration videos and found out I could try using a LOW heat hair straightener.

I bought hair protectant because I was so scared to just fry him, and my hair straightener also has a steam setting. When using both at a very low temp (I use 200 degrees) it worked PERFECT. It legit fixed him.

My OCD still surrounds him but I've overcome the compulsion. He almost looks brand new now.

It's been about a year since I've initially done it, but the next pics are of today I did a small touch up under his arms!

I was TERRIFIED of doing it but it genuinely changed my baby and I hope he will be around much longer now 🩷🩷🩷🩷

What does my room say about me?

P.S this is before the room makeover! We just bought a house and I'm going to be painting in here but for now it's very boring grey.

Financial advice please

I'll try hard to keep this short..

I've had a problem with shopping since I've been able to make my own money because I didn't have much as a kid.

I lived off of disability the past 7 years as well due to some complicated medical issues. So I haven't had much money over those past 7 years either.

This year my fiance and I bought a house, and I have full time employment and I make a decent wage.

Since this happened my spending habits have not been great... again. Even though we saved enough for a house.. it's like I'm back to square one because I have income now.

I am currently almost 2k in debt. I get around 1202$ and some cents after all my deductions every two weeks. Right now I'm -500 in my overdraft on my chequing account and I'm 1300$ in debt on my credit card.

I'd love to throw away my credit card but I cannot, I use it every day to get to work. For some stupid reason I cannot use my regular card on Apple Pay? It doesn't accept it. Idk it's something I need to figure out.

Anyways, I need a good plan to get me out of this constant cycle of paying off the debt and then racking it up again every time I get paid.

My necessities are

-60$ a month phone bill
-80-120$ a month for hydro
-25$ medications a month
-and probably around 40$ a month for our pets
-I sometimes pay for groceries (depends)

I need out of this 2k debt as soon as I possibly can.

One more issue is that I had surgery this week unexpectedly so my wage until I'm ready to work again is 60%. I'm just so stressed.

Can anyone recommend a good worm bowl!?

My gecko refuses to eat for herself but I'm tryinnggg to get her to eat from a bowl on her own. But I can't find a single worm dish that she can properly see as well as they don't escape! I can still feed her crickets off tongs but for worm days I would like her to tryyyyy to find them herself :(... I live in Canada BTW so not everything is available to me here.

Just a bit of background she's INTENSELY shy. She always has been since I got her. I got her from a breeder in my city and they had her for the first 3 years of her life and barely ever handled her. So she's not really the biggest fan of it. She only really eats from tongs and it's ONLY in her hides. She never really comes out except at night and even then it's to scope out for like 10 min and return again to a hiding area. I just wish she had a bit more confidence lol.

First time isopod owner

I bought like 30 ish dairy cow isopods for my ball python enclosure. I'm doing my best to have it bioactive! I'm worried about the little guys though. It's a 4x2x2 enclosure with lots of wood and leaf litter. I keep one side pretty moist too. I've read I can also leave a small bowl with cat food and eggshells? Can I do this? I haven't seen any of them in a week now I hope they're okay :(

This is Coraline

I stopped collecting jellycats around 2 years ago because I was hesitant about the price change but now that I have a higher paying job I couldn't help myself from getting the Zodihops bunny she's absolutely GORGEOUS. And I've had my eye on her for so long!! I will be very mindful which ones I purchase from now on but I CANT WAIT until Ulrich wolf!

Can anyone help me?

Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone else feels the same way. I am autistic with OCD. I keep having struggles with my plushies. I get very attached to them but I am a complete perfectionist and there's some things I've really struggled to over come.

I am a therian as well, and I view myself as a European grey wolf. 🐺 I have always sought out a plush that was identical to how I look. I found one that's the closest but my only issue is that she is not very large. She's the Miyoni wolf plush that's around 10 inches long. And my brain constantly tells me she's too small and I cannot cuddle her properly. 🥺😭

Ontop of that I worry about her getting worn and not looking perfect or the same anymore, I've been trying over and over again to replicate her with other plushies. I've been dying other plushies or customizing them but I have to continuously re apply it or it doesn't turn out the way I want it too and it ends up looking bad and I've ruined it! 😔

Genuinely I think I just need to challenge my OCD and love on her anyways regardless of her size.. and I know that plushies are meant to be loved. And just because her fur texture changes doesn't mean she's not perfect.

Ticks

I am absolutely terrified of ticks. And I know they've been getting worse but my fear of them is making it debilitating. I'm so scared my dog or me will get either Lyme or that disease where you're deadly allergic to meat... I live near Tyndall and I keep seeing crazy stuff about ticks. Just wanted to know if anyone's seen lots and if it's been in the city or not.

Worried about long term effects of this medication

Hi. I'm a 28 year old female who's been on this medication for over 10 years now. Recently I've been a bit concerned about my health, I'm worried being on this medication is causing health issues such as memory loss, slurred speech, and confusion. I'm terrified to go off of it because it's genuinely the ONLY thing that has helped me sleep. I cannot sleep without it at all. I've tried. But I genuinely feel like I'm stupid or slow most days. I cannot speak properly or articulate myself well. I don't know what to do. I'm worried I'm developing early Alzheimer's.

Is this real smoky quartz? It looks kinda different on camera than what it does irl.

I LOVE smoky quartz it's my fave. It's kinda cheaper and easy to come by. I ordered a nice necklace online of it. I am an overthinker and I wanted to see what others thought? It's HEAVY. And I see like a web almost inside of it? No bubbles. But good lord is it heavy. It also appears a little darker on camera. I know this isn't a natural formed point but I wanna make sure it's still smoky quartz. I use them for properties whether it's real or not lol.

I need help turning this space into a library/museum/kids book section type room!

Sorry for the disorganization and mess we just moved in! My fiance and I bought a house recently and it's been so great but I want to make this into my DREAM room I had always wanted as a kid.

I want to make it sort of an animal themed bookstore? Like you know when you go to a large beautiful book store and they have a kids section with a large tree with plush animals in it, moss or grass rug, books everywhere, and plants. Well that's my goal! I also love creepy, vintage and cottage esque type decor.

I REALLY want to try to make a fake tree somewhere in here and put up plushie nets dyed green to hold the stuffies in branches. I just want a super magical space! Idc if I'm almost 30! I had a bad childhood and I deserve this lol. I need ideas!!

Also I need a better set up for my reptiles! The large tank and the tall tank are staying the same but the smaller one to the right is getting an upgrade.

When can I put potted plants outside?

I've been holding off putting plants outside like ones from Home Depot and other garden centers. I'm worried they'll just die? But I've been seeing many of my neighbours already putting them outside? Is it okay now? I don't wanna waste money by having them all die lol.
