Hi all!
I was wondering if there's books or youtubers who talk about fashion in a very particular way. I want to learn for example, the reason why we consider some shapes elegant, some colours posh... things like that. I know it is a bit of a weird topic but I am very interested in understanding the system better.
Thank you!
I want to do a summer top and pants ensemble for my sis for her bday but the amount of fabric i need makes it that it is way too expensive to buy linen. I still want something light but not translucent and that is still decent quality for her but I am a bit lost.
Edit: I am located in Canada :)
hep! I’m never doing this correctly, it looks perfect on the right side but the inside looks not straight at all. How do you know youre sewing in a straight line? I pinned and all that but it is not working :(
Edit: I see I'm getting downvoted, I don't really understand why. I don't want it to be perfect on the "wrong" side just look correct, now it looks as if I didn't pay any attention.
I managed to be quite close yesterday and I loved to see how diverse the crowd was, older people, kids, teenagers...
it saddens me to read so many posts saying “my wife hates AdP” but even more now as I see their audience was not at all mostly male. internet is a weird place but that show was a weird place in the best of ways. They are even better live and the vibes were just great. I’m still smiling today!
Hi all!
I am 36F and I started sewing last year, I've made a couple nice small projects but I am now trying to make a jacket for my boyfriend and I am growing increasingly frustrated.
I feel that it doesn't look good, the arms just don't work no matter how much I try to redo them, as I redo stuff over and over the fabric looks worse and Im starting to think I am just not good at this.
I have made a jacket for myself and it looks ok (the inside lining is a bit so so), my frustration is that I would love to do something that just looks good and clean.
I see a lot of posts of people showing their first coats, jackets and other complicated stuff and they look NEAT. I know we all have different skills I just wonder if we do reach a limit of how good we can get.
help! I’m sewing a jacket for my partner and it turns out it is too big on the shoulders, and weird enough one shoulder is bigger than the other even tho when I compare things they meassure the same. Is there a way I can fix this? I've put so many hours and love on it, and fabric was a bit expensive, Im so sad it is not wearable.

i am attaching the collar to the main piece e and it seems too short for the main piece but im watching the video and it also seems tiny but when he sews it it makes sense? I’m not sur le what im missing. I followed instructions and sewed with the sew along video I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Also I cut pieces with a teacher so they should be the right size. Do you know what I’m doing wrong?
36F, since I'm a kid, whenever I got mad or upset at something my parents used the same strategy "the day was going well and now you're mad", "we were having a nice day and now you're upset" and just denied whatever I was upset about. Whenever something made me feel bad and I expressed it, "that never happened" "I never said that" I have never heard "you're right, I'm sorry".
I moved to another country quite far from where I'm from and the other day while having a call with them something made me upset, it was a misunderstanding and that's ok but the bad thing is how they handled it.
Basically my partner and I are planning a trip to my home country to see them but we're visiting another region so he sees something new. It is our holidays and my parents are retired and they agreed with the city we chose but then they started changing the plan and said instead of the city we should go to the countryside. I said I don't want to do that cause my bf has already been there and we don't want to be car dependant but that they can go there and meet us at the city (that they previously said they wanted to go to). For some reason my mom understood that I don't want my sister to come (this is also something I don't like, they always assume the most negative thing for some reason, I have a ton of examples of that).
During the call my mom said that I don't want my sister to come and I was like "when did I said that?" I started to be upset cause I never implied that (far from it) and there's even messages of me saying all good we just don't want to go to the countryside. I was sad she assumed that. Then my dad said I'm imagining things and that if I'm upset it is because I want to and that my mom never said that I don't want my sister to come which is a lie and had happened 5 minutes earlier.
I am fed up of this, I just realized at 36 years old this might be gaslighting and I now think I understand why I have such a hard time trusting what I feel. I'm very insecure and I've always thought it was weird I see my self as a short tempered person while my partner and friends believe the opposite.
hi all!
im looking for a pattern of pants and top similar to the drawing (sorry drawing is not my thing) for an adult. top with ruffles straight on the front that go up in the back, for the pants I guess it is easier as I juat want to make linen pants for the summer. this is a gift for my sis so I’m very minded to find it!
Hi all! do you know any sunglasses like this with the reflective glasses but in color isntead of gray?
Hi all,
I stopped taking lexapro two weeks ago (took it for some months), and I feel miserable. I am feeling grumpy, everything annoys me, everything is bothering me, I didn't feel like this since I was a teenager.
I have been with my partner for 5 years and I'm scared this will affect our relationship, I don't like who I am and I don't like that I have been this person before, I am in my mid 30's so feeling the same rage I felt when I was a teenager is scary as I didn't like the person I was but I loved the person I became.
it got sick a while ago, now she recovered I want to help her grow strong, what do you suggest?
Hi all!
I want to get a formula so the milestone (column I) is updated automatically when we add the deadline (column H). The milestones are just the the month the task will be done, hence a task that will be done June 15, would belong to 2026-06-30 milestone.
can anyone help with that please? I don't want them to be a drop down as it would be confusing.
hi all! I want to make this dress, saw it at the caption of this reel but then they didn’t talk about it at all lol do you know how I can find the pattern?
also whats the fabric you would use? thanks!
