Just finished painting "Alexander The Great"

I’ve always been fascinated by the borderline mythical aura surrounding Alexander. For this piece, I wanted to capture that intense, restless energy turning him into a dramatic, winged figure of conquest.

The hardest part was definitely wrapping the wings seamlessly across the sleeves so that the movement of the body actually brings the piece to life. It took hours of layering textile paints to get that high-contrast, almost marble-like armor shine against the fabric.

I really wanted to blur the line between a classic painting and something you can just wear. Would love to hear your thoughts on this interpretation!

Is this 'dark/grunge' vibe too niche for our region, or do people simply lack the money for unique pieces?

Hey everyone! I’ve been hand-painting clothing for years now, focusing on a pretty serious dark indie/grunge aesthetic.

Things are going quite well for me here in Serbia and I’ve built a solid local base, but since my style is very niche and specific, I’m curious about the situation elsewhere. Is there a community in your region that actively looks for this type of unique wearable art, or is the market mostly dominated by big mainstream brands?

I’m planning to invest a significant ad budget into regional targeting, so I’m wondering: is it worth focusing on the neighboring markets, or should I jump straight to a global audience (EU/USA) via Etsy?

I’d also love to get your honest opinion on the work shown in these photos—is it perhaps too dark or too specific for a broader audience, or does it resonate with the scene there? Thanks in advance!

Is the DIY custom clothing scene still alive in the grunge community?

I feel like back in the day, everyone was making their own gear, bleaching shirts, and adding art. I’m still doing it (here are a few of my recent hand-painted pieces), but I rarely see people doing high-effort custom work anymore. Do you guys still DIY your clothes or has everything moved to thrifted/fast fashion?

Just finished painting this shirt "Venom Lace"

Do you guys like it?

I wanted to combine my grandma’s old doily work (milje) with these modern abstract swirl forms that are popular today — mixing something traditional and delicate with a more contemporary, flowing aesthetic.
