I had the opportunity to interview Keanu Reeves about his bass playing with Dogstar. I asked him what was the last song that made him cry. This was his response.

I just finished BassOfTheWeek.com (like an hour ago) as a place to dig through more than a decade of incredible basses from No Treble. There are rare pieces, wild custom builds, one offs, unusual designs, and basses from small builders you may have never come across before. You can search the archive or just hit Surprise Me and see what turns up. Its not perfect but I think its cIose. I would love to hear feedback on what you like or dislike on the site. Maybe additional functionality or UI that doesnt make sense, etc.

I had the opportunity to interview Rex and I also got the chance to play his new signature Spector bass. I have a longer demo coming out tomorrow with some clean tones but this is me trying to get some of that Rex overdrive.

I was lucky enough to get about 45 mins with Keanu before their show in Michigan. I did an interview and we ran through all his gear. He even let me shoot the soundcheck. This is a video of later that evening when they hit the stage. Love his GK rig (and so does he)

I got the chance to hang out with Jon Evans, long time bassist for Tori Amos tonight in Chicago. Here is a quick pic of his pedal board. On the left side is his guitar board and the right side is the bass effects. He runs a stereo setup on the bass side. He runs one side mostly uneffected and the other side with the effects. His concern is loosing lowend while effects are engaged. He is also playing 2 different Lakland 5 strings, a 72 P Bass fretless, and a 5 string Tobias.

Its an awesome bass but whenever I post it, lots of people have opinions. This is the Big Johnson Bass. The loudest acoustic bass on the market.

I've been following High Fade for a while. First came across them for their busking vids. They are constantly touring so I make sure to always catch them when they roll through. Nice dudes and great hang. They released a new album recently. Check it out. Ollie is also playing a pink Sandberg Bass.
