Tooth sensitivity
On August 26, my dentist reshaped the area between two lower molars and placed a little filling material to create more space because the teeth were very tight together and flossing was hard.
Ever since the procedure, I’ve had an uncomfortable sensation in the tooth that was treated when I bite down on certain foods. It’s especially noticeable with bread and somewhat harder foods. It feels like a combination of a tender feeling and a strange discomfort, rather than sharp or severe pain.
The tooth feels completely normal when I’m not eating. I don’t notice any discomfort at rest.
I went back to my dentist about two weeks ago. They checked the filling, took another X-ray, and said the filling looked perfect. They also checked my bite and reshaped the filling a little more to see if that would help, but it made absolutely no difference.
It’s now been about six weeks since the original procedure, and the symptoms haven’t improved.
I never had a cavity in this tooth; the procedure was done to create space between the teeth. I’m wondering what could be causing this and whether anyone has experienced something similar after reshaping and filling a tooth.
does it need more time?
