I did some digging on what I should feed them and saw some posts saying captive moths rarely eat.. Is this true?

I would prefer not to have to buy a new copy if possible. Is there any way to uncorrupt the game? I'm completely useless with tech but want to learn how to do things like this
ETA: the game boots fine, but it won't hold a save on any file.
