Not getting any corpses from retalitation missions?

This is specifically in regards to Faceless corpses. I am missing one for a Mimic Beacon.

But i do not seem to be getting any. I just completed a Retaliation mission and i am pretty sure i did not kill the Faceless with explosives, but i still did not get the corpse.

Are Mutons and Berserkers the same species?

I seem to remember from somewhere that Berserkers are supposed to be female Mutons?

If so, that gives the term "muscle mommies" a whole new meaning.

God damn Assassin with All Seeing

Just when i thought i might finally get to finish a Legendary Ironman playthrough, here comes the Assassin and what do you know, she has the all-seeing trait. So the traditional tactics of using a Reaper to reveal her no longer work.

First encounter with her cost me my Ranger. Second my Grenadier.

Any advice on how to deal with her without somebody getting murdered every time?

Love & hate relationship with snipers.

That the snipers are absolutely batshit OP in late game is undeniable.

But XCOM 2 is a game that is the hardest in the early to mid stages of the playthrough. So yeah, snipers can take down a Gatekeeper in one turn later on, but by then, you have a lot of troops that are OP is one way or another.

In early game however, i have come to despise snipers. Unless the shot in at least 85%, dont even bother taking it, it almost a guaranteed miss. Same goes for overwatch with snipers. The only thing they are really good for in early game is triggering overwatch traps. And even then they miss half the time.

I have had wounded troops because the sniper just fucking could not hit shit no matter what. At this point, i would have just been better off with another ranger or support. The Combat Protocol is at least a guaranteed 2 damage to finish off that one Trooper that is going to shoot one of your guys on the next turn because the blind bumbfuck sniper missed him.

ADVENT Stun Lancer: A "non-lethal stun unit for crowd control"...

Fucking crits almost every melee attack for 8-10 damage...

Terminate this motherfucker with extreme prejudice before he gets to take a turn!

Does the AVATAR sabotage covert action stop the countdown?

Okay, so remember that screenshot i posted in rage a couple of days ago? When that Stun Lancer made me fail the retaliation mission by blowing up the entire resistance group?

So i managed to salvage the run, despite the setback, and so far is going pretty well. I just got mag weapons for everyone and i only lost two guys so far in the playthrough.

Now the aliens are on the verge of completing the Avatar projects (just entered the countdown mode). But it is not a big deal because i have planned for this, and i am in the position to assault their largest facility when ever i chose (4 blocks).

The thing is that i also currently have a covert action to reduce the avatar progress going. It should be completed before the countdown timer runs out. So i am wondering if it would be smarter to just let the covert action stop the timer, and then assault the actual facility when i am even better equipped (mainly when i have bluescreen protocol unlocked).

Help! Sex with GF is boring...

Lets me start off by saying that i love this woman dearly, i would never cheat on her, and try my best to make sure the experience is as enjoyable as possible for the both of us.

Now here is the thing. I like to be a bit dominant during sex. And by that i mean that i am a pretty strong guy and i like to show that off. But at the same time, i DO NOT like being dominant in a way that is degrading to the other side. So while i like to get a little rough, slapping around and that sort of shit actually turns me off.

At the same time, i actually like the woman to be a bit assertive as well. Basically i want the woman to take control away from me when she feels like it. Which sadly my GF does not do.

As a result, sex has been getting kind of stale (not entirely sure if that is the right word). Which is starting to really worry me, because again, i do love this woman very much, and i do not want this to ruin an otherwise perfect relationship.

I have been trying to muster up the courage to talk to her openly about this. But i worry that i might hurt her feelings. Or worse, that it might make her worry that i am going to cheat on her because of this.

Interesting bore

This is supposedly an 18th century Spanish sporting flintlock.

Anyone got any more background on this?

Apparently, rather than internal rifling, the entire barrel is helical, and it appears to fire a triangular round to induce spin.

Does anyone else find it funny that the resistance factions are initially a LOT more powerful than XCOM?

Lets say we are starting from scratch. Meaning no mag weapons, no plasma weapons, no power armor no 6 man teams etc.

A team of 4 Reapers would absolutely destroy Legend Gatecrasher, probably without even ever being shot at, just by using their Claymores.

A team of 4 Skirmishers likewise would use the high ground to pick the ADVENT troopers off before they could react.

The Templars might have the most trouble of the factions, but they would still have a much easier time than XCOMs shitty Rookies armed with the most basic assault rifles that they cant shoot worth shit and one frag grenade.

Really the only advantage that XCOM has initially is the Avenger itself. Since it is essentially a flying base, it can strike anywhere on the planet. Which none of the other factions probably can.

Which kind of begs the question; why the hell even bother with the Rookies at all? Why would XCOM just not fill their ranks with Reapers, Skirmishers and Templars?

YAY!!!! Another Legend run ruined just like that in a single moment.

All that intel and supplies to make contact with the resistance, desperately trying to reach the fucking blacksite for the AVATAR project wasted because the the Stun Lancer shot a boiler and murdered the entire resistance group in a single shot before i could even get to them.

It is so fucking fun! When the game decides to just toss 6+ hours of your gameplay into the trash in a single second. Just like that.

"Oh you made no major mistakes so far?! No problem, we are just going to fuck you over any way. Just because, hi hi! Have fun replaying Gatefucker for the 60th time loser!"

Now we are back to Gateshitter to watch my retard rookies miss all their overwatch traps again for 7-8 times...

Ines Caine. Sevant and former Exalt assassin.

As the youngest daughter of the Exalt Grandmaster Ezekiel Caine, she was born to a life of abundance and luxury. Which she did not have much time to enjoy however, as she wasgroomed for a position in the Exalt inner circle from a very young age.

With access to some of the best education money could buy, she studied the art of war, and the works of some of the greatest strategists in human history.

As she came of age, her high intellect quickly became apparent and she quickly became one of her fathers most valued assets. Proving to be extremely effective at covert operations, espionage and assassination.

After the fall of the original XCOM and the surrender of the Earth governments, Exalt played a key role in helping establish the ADVENT coalition. Once the ADVENT coalition was formed however, Exalt quickly became inconvenient to the Eldars designs. And so ADVENT turned on their former allies. Turning the public against them by claiming that Exalt were participating in illegal genetic experiments and practicing occult rituals (which was not entirely untrue). ADVENT "peacekeepers" began raiding and silencing Exalt cells and hideouts one by one before eventually tracking down the Grandmaster himself.

Learning that the main base was under attack, Ines fought her way through a dozen ADVENT squads only to find that she was too late. The desturction of his organization brought about by his shortsighted trust into ADVENT and the aliens weighing heavly on his conscience, Ezekiel Caine took his own life just before ADVENT troops breached his inner sanctum.

After saying her final goodbye to her father, Ines dissapeared. Being hunted by ADVENT, she drifted from country to country, her resentment of ADVENT only growing stronger as she listened to their propagada, and knowing that it was all a lie. To survive, she worked as a hired assassin for local gangs and sometimes the resistance. Most of them unaware of her past affiliation.

Eventually, she stumbled across a name she remembered. "John Bradford". A high ranking officer of her former nemesis, the original XCOM. As it turned out, Bradford was still alive, and there were rumours among the resistance that he was even trying to bring XCOM back. If true, this would be precisely the opportunity she was looking for to take her revange on ADVENT and the Eldars.

With help from some of her old contacts, she managed to track Bradford down. Though Bradford was understandably weary of her intentions, she made him an offer that he cound not refuse. Giving him the codes to secret former Exalt weapons and intel cashes that even ADVENT did not know about. Assets that could prove invaluable in the struggle against ADVENT. In exchange, she asked to join the new XCOM. A chance for revange against ADVENT for their betrayal and the death of her father.

As an operative, she is highly intelligent, well educated and ruthless. But her past affiliation means she is regarded with mistrust by the Avenger crew. Which she does not seem to mind overly much.

Another makeshift gun confiscated from ivory poachers in Nigeria.

This one is bolt action, fed by what appears to be a very poorly maintained AK magazine.

Have to say, those poachers have some balls just to fire those contraptions, never mind going up against an enraged elephant/rhino with them...

Also the camouflage wrapping for +1 to sneak.

Why were the first Colt revolvers open framed?

Did this not weaken the frame?

Was it to save material? Or ease of production?

u/Ok_Calendar_7626 — 11 days ago

Apparently this is a flare gun converted to fire 20 gauge shotgun shells. Seized by police along with a full crackhead starter kit...

If you pre order, you get a Hi-Point instead of the converted flare gun.

An idea that has been floating around in my head.

A turn based strategy game like XCOM set in the Wild West. From the 1860s until 1910.

You would run a posse of lawmen, similar to the Texas Rangers in an effort to fight against gangs of outlaws and stabilize the region.

You would start off with basic Civil War era muskets and black powder cap and ball revolvers, and as your tech level progresses, you would unlock more modern repeating and eventually self-loading firearms.

Instead of the Chosen, boss type enemies would be famous outlaws like Billy the Kid, Jesse James etc.

Extreme Alloys and Intel shortage on Legendary

How do you deal with this?

The Intel costs to make resistance contacts are insane. up to 180-200.

I rushed magnetic weapons only i can not build them because no alloys. And because the Intel costs are so utterly insane, i can not afford to buy alloys at the Black Market.

At the same time, i need the resistance to hit the black sites to reduce Avatar progress. Because the Avatar sabotage covert ops never show up in the ring.

I can not sit at the Reaper HQ for months on end becuase then the construction takes too damn long. And if i dont have mag weapons by the time Beserkers show up, the game is over.

I went with a lab as my third building this time, which sped up my mag weapons research, only to end up not being able to build them because i did not have enough alloys.

EDIT: I should probably do at least one Legend playthrough without Ironman just to figure the broader strategy out better.

You pretty much need to complete this shitty mission without any losses or wounds. But it is so RNG heavy that it is just no fun.

Any mods for WOTC that replace the vanilla weapons models without altering the stats?

Not looking to mess with the games balance, just to replace the goofy looking oversized vanilla weapons models with something that looks slightly closer to real life.

XCOM: School for the blind

Sometimes, getting my gang of idiots to actually hit something feels literally like pulling teeth.

Bro, i get that you are a fucking rookie, but come on! That Lost Dasher is literally right in your face! 95% chance to hit, and you miss!

God damn it! There should be an option in the game to dismiss those idiots and get supplies refunded.

I am surprised none of my "operators" managed to shoot themselves yet because they forgot which end of the gun the bullets come out of.

Homeworld 2 wipe out the remaining Veygr forces.

I am currently on the mission where i have to defend the drednought while it is being repaired by the shipyard. I have repelled the Veygr attacks, but i have captured the Veygr battlecruiser that was leading the assault.

I can not find any more Veygr forces, but the objective is not completing. Do i have to scuttle the battlecruiser? Because that would really suck...
