A fun card with added trade information

Usually when you see a kid has written another city on a card, they’re recording a trade. In this case, the kid wrote “Detroit” on Philley’s face. Philley had already been traded from Detroit to the Phillies.

I got these cards from a big lot of commons back in 2020 and, while there were obviously lots of cards, there did seem to be a higher concentration of Tigers than other teams, meaning the original owner was probably from Detroit or otherwise a fan of the Tigers.

Anyway, all that to say, this card is fun because, instead of keeping track of a player’s move, this one was a Detroit fan who go needed to make it clear “YOU CAME FROM DETROIT, TRAITOR!”

Just a fun little look into the past.
