Laid off and will need to utilize EDD again - anything to know about current issues?

Seeing posts about delays / how now EDD caller is the only way to get through. Have there been delays in payments/certifying? Are there delays in reaching anyone? Last time I was unemployed, they’d switched to Money Network; how long does the initial MN card take to get to you now?

Just trying to be prepared for any common ongoing issues now and hoping to not need to rely on this for long as it definitely was stressful not knowing if payments would be delayed, etc. and having to call at certain times to get through.

Can Pablo Find Out about Shanahan, please? Bonus, he can take down Tesla

First the crash was the other party’s fault (more the fault of the cops recording it incorrectly, but wouldn’t have been corrected if he hadn’t corrected it).

Then it comes out he was holding and using his phone at the time of the crash.

No, nevermind, he was only holding his phone for 2 seconds, and actually, he dropped his phone and looked down and the phone was in the backseat and at that brief moment, collided head on with the other driver.

…now he says maybe it was because his Tesla was actually on autopilot, but maybe the autopilot malfunctioned when grabbing the phone. In the two seconds it took to grab the phone? This is a slam dunk case for Elle Woods, it just is. Pablo (the other renowned Harvard mind) will tear this up before the season opener.

Pantry moths. No source

Have found several pantry moths the last few months (in my unit in a multi-unit building). At the first sighting, I already barely had anything in cabinets and any and all food was kept in the fridge; after seeing a few, I threw out all spices, salt, wiped cabinets, vacuumed. Pest control person says there is no likely source in any of my cabinets or anywhere they can determine, and thinks it might be coming from another unit, but I’m just trying to determine:

  1. I’ve caught one in the 1 trap I have up in the kitchen; seen 3 (1 dead, 1 maybe dead? At the top of a cabinet, 1 alive today, top of a cabinet) over the last month. Does that suggest anything?

  2. I was here all day yet the one that showed up on the cabinet corner - could it have come from inside a wall and crawled out onto the cabinet?

  3. it flew away; do I have to be concerned it will go lay eggs elsewhere?

Are these stragglers randomly coming in since I have no likely source? Idk what to do at this point.

Burgers *like this* that are not only served on Monday and/or from 6 PM-on and/or in the back of a bar?

For some reason, burgers like this (specifically: thick burger, thick brioche bun, and ideally pickles but ok if not) are like a good friend in the city, or a long-term Spectrum promo - impossible to find here, and everyone else in the country seems to have plenty of it.

The few I’ve seen are either only served on mondays/tuesdays (Chi Spacca); only in the back of the restaurant and/or after 6 PM (Mother Wolf; Old Man Bar); at fancy restaurants (Hermon’s, Camphor, Pasjoli) or at places that close before 3 PM (All Time). WHERE CAN YOU GET A BURGER LIKE THIS TO GO? Super bonus if you can also get a side of non-thin fries, but I’ll settle for burger only.

Someone was apparently having trouble deciding what the price of this top should be (Larah)

Two different prices for the same top (Larah), and then on the actual product page, now it’s $108. Makes sense!

Were these carpet beetle larvae or something else? [CA]

I thought these were carpet beetle larvae as I saw a carpet beetle (adult), but now I’m questioning whether these smaller larvae that I also saw were actually something else. Southern CA

American or German? (SoCal)

First I’ve seen. Ran out from under the dishwasher kick plate/ fridge area. I don’t use the dishwasher. I pulled the fridge out after this and didn’t see anything else. Vacuumed and also sprayed Ortho. Really really freaked, sometimes see these outside but never have seen one inside til now.

Bubblegum ice cream?

I could’ve sworn I’d seen a post asking where to find this not long ago, but searched and can’t find any. I swear I’m over the age of 11. Can still remember the taste of this ice cream from my youth, but it seems to be a rare flavor. You’d think somewhere like Handels or Fosselman’s would have it, but neither do. Anyone?
