Beginner Server Enthusiast, trying to make a media server for my family using Plex

Hello, I have recently fallen down the rabbit hole of servers, and have had an interest in computer technology for a few years now. It started with curiosity for how things work when I was young, growing into interest in electricity and circuitry, then building a computer. Now I am in the process of making a small server setup to run Plex for my family, and switch from a prebuilt Synology setup just for fun and creativity. I would also like to store photos and videos.

I have come up with a list of parts and am trying to build inspiration and ideas from people more experienced in this community. I am also wondering which OS to run. For what I am intending to use it for, I have heard great things about ZimaOS. I have also heard it's very good for beginners. Any words of wisdom helps and is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time!

Good server for CPvP?

I suck at all types of pvp, I'm alright at sword tho, tryna learn crystal but it seems like every pvp server has sweats that are way too good and don't even give me a chance to learn. Any ideas on where to go?

Edit: Yo who's downvoting everyone lol

What editing softwares do yall use?

I'm in the process of getting a camera and learning how to photograph and play around with stuff, and I'm aware editing is a huge factor in the photography/videography business. I'd like to get to know how to edit, and am curious which software I should use. I'll mostly shoot nature, some nice scenes, stuff like that. Very occasionally a portrait of someone. I'm a big time beginner so any help and guidance is appreciated! Thanks for taking your time to read this!!

Recommendation Request

  • Budget: ~$250 and under, I'm hoping to buy used so it'll include batteries, chargers, etc. but this budget also includes a lens
  • Country: USA
  • Condition: Used
  • Type of Camera: Not exactly sure, I think mirrorless
  • Intended use: Photography
  • If photography; what style: Mainly landscape with a little bit of portrait
  • If video what style: Vlogging/events I guess?
  • What features do you absolutely need: I don't really know what features a beginner/learner camera should have
  • What features would be nice to have: Same as the other, the more the merrier
  • Portability: Shoulder bag/small bag
  • Cameras you're considering: I found a nice Nikon D3200 for $189 that I'd pair with a 18-55 Nikon lens
  • Cameras you already have: My iPhone lol
  • Notes: Above all, this will be a camera that I'll learn on, not necessarily take professional grade photos, though that'd be nice

Thanks for taking your time to read this!! Any words of wisdom to a beginner is greatly appreciated

This Automation Gets You To Stop Scrolling

I made a simple automation shortcut today listed in the photos on top that turns on grayscale when you open YouTube that's supposed to help you stop scrolling. I can't figure out how to make an iCloud link that shares an automation, but I did the best I could in 5 minutes to make it into a shortcut, but the automation will run in the background constantly checking if the app is your specified app whereas you have to manually select the shortcut to make it detect if the app is the one specified which defeats the whole point. Nonetheless, to use it either way...

Open settings, go to accessibility, display and text size, color filters, turn it on and select grayscale, then turn it off. This sets the color filter to grayscale for whenever the shortcut turns on color filters.

(You can change YouTube to any app you want to stop scrolling on)

Heres the half-working Shortcut version

How do I get started in the vending business?

I'd love to make an investment like this, but I'm curious where to start. Where would I buy one, where would I put it, what would I put in it, things like that. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Any advice on cheap speakers for my setup?

My budget is up to about $80. The lower the better, though. I'd prefer white, but black is alright. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Jazz mouthpiece recommendations?

I'm an alto in my student jazz band, but recently all of the good altos have left and I'm 1st chair. I've been putting off getting a new mouthpiece because of how expensive they can be but because I'm going to 1st chair, I'm gonna need something better. I'd like to keep the budget as low as possible, but I'm willing to stretch for a good deal. I also don't exactly know what type of tone I should go for, bright or dark, that kind of stuff, so anything helps. Thanks!

Should I get RDR2 Ultimate Edition for $20 on Steam?

I've been seeing RDR2 all over my feed, and it looks like a genuinely good game. The Ultimate Edition is literally 80 bucks off, which seems like an insanely good deal to me. Should I buy it? If so, which one should I get?

Braces, pallet expander, and herbst

Hey, so I'm getting my pallet expander and the herbst appliance on, then later braces. I have no clue how much each will hurt/be uncomfortable, and if anyone knows how they affect your ability to play an instrument, I'd greatly appreciate feedback. I play the alto sax if that helps. I have literally no clue what to expect, and I get the braces on (everything else will already be on) literally during music camp... Thanks!!

Newegg deal too good to be true?

This just seems really cheap, and I know Newegg can have some fishy deals sometimes. What do you think? Are they really discounting that much just for random colors?

Is it even possible?

I'm looking to learn about cryptomining and bitcoin, not necessarily profit, even though that is always desired. Are there any options for $150 and under? Or should I just not even buy anything?

Any Recommendations?

What are y'all's favorite shoes/shoe brands for comfort? Doesn't have to be stylish, anything crazy, just pure comfort.

Do yall think there will be another Nintendo console soon? The Switch 2 was huge, but I'm really hoping that's what we get for the next ten years. What do you guys think?

Edit: XD, I mean within 10 years or over 10 years. Not tomorrow, lol.

Edit 2: Lemme rephrase AGAIN since yall keep raging, how long do you think it will be until the next console comes out? I'm not saying it's gonna come out in the next 10 years, but a man can hope. I know there's no chance for it to be that soon

Edit 3: Sorry for gaslighting yall, that was not my intention. Truly. I recognize I made a mistake, and I would like to ask for your forgiveness
