You can be god of just a single room

If you ever get burnt out or just tired of things in general, you can teleport to a single room the size of your bedroom. In it, you have the power to anything. You can spawn anything that fits in the room, you can bring anyone, you can dilate time so you spend an hour there while a second passes in real life. At any point you could return home and come back again but you can’t take anything from the room with you. The only thing you can’t do is make the room itself bigger.

What do you do with this power?

As an American, would you sell out your country to the British monarchy if it meant the King made you Duke of New York and Albany for your pains?

https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/fd29996d1904.webp

There are two scenarios depending on how principled you are. The first is that you hold the territory as a trust, so you can’t sell it, but the passive income from it is untaxed. This means you and your descendants get access to an obscene amount of money, but you can’t ever cash out hundreds of billions.

If this isn’t enough to make you undo the American Revolution, you can hold the territory as a palatine instead. This means you are a de facto king. You have the authority to appoint judges, pardon and the rights to the mineral wealth and natural resources. You have your own military, your own everything, and are basically just an absolute monarch of a territory larger than most countries.

Would you sell out your countrymen if it meant becoming a king?

If you could perfectly control your emotional state just by thought alone, what would you use this ability for?

Straight away, if you’re neurodivergent and take medication, this would just immediately remove the need for that. For instance, you could just think anxiety away and feel perfectly at ease. If you’re feeling tired and have to get something done but can’t focus, you can just focus.

The dark side of this ability is how you can just use it to feel euphoria constantly, with no kind of withdrawal or tolerance. From an addiction point of view, it’d be worse than any natural or synthetic drug. Before rationalising it, why do we do anything if not because we anticipate a chemical release in our brains. If you can get that chemical release instantly, why bother doing anything?

Would you even accept this ability, and, if so, how would it change your life?

You can enter a 1:1 simulation of reality, but you when you die in the simulation or choose to leave it, you return to the original world permanently

The simulation is a 1:1 accurate simulation of the universe, down to and beyond the interactions between simulated subatomic particles. This means things like lottery numbers and outcomes of sports games are the same between the simulation and the real world. If you wanted to, you could just stay for a week or month, remember the lottery numbers, and then immediately return to your body the moment you left and then never have to work again.

Since it is a 1:1 simulation, you could also spend decades learning skills and languages. For that same reason, the people in it are also as real as we are, so, even if there are no physical consequences to you, if you acted untoward to anyone, you would be hurting real people that can feel pain just as we can.

What would you do in the simulation and how long would you aim to stay there for?

What would you do if Inanna, the Sumerian goddess of love and war, descended from the heavens and asked you to become her husband/wife?

Saying yes did not end well for any of her exes, and at the same time saying no didn’t end well for Gilgamesh

Your semen solidifies into pure gold minutes after exiting your body

This one is for penis owners. If you don’t have one, you can endow someone you know with the ability and demand a cut.

On average, a man produces 2.5-5 ml of semen per ejaculation. Gold is a lot more dense than semen, so, when your semen turns to gold, it weighs 96.6 grams. That’s worth $12,400. How much money do you think you could make with this ability?

You've been teleported to a pocket dimension identical to that of your home. You can leave any time you want but can’t ever come back. How long do you stay there with and without a plus one, and who would you take if you brought someone?

You can't open any windows or doors, and all that you can see beyond is a white fog that stretches as far as the eye can see. Inside, you have access to all media on the internet up until this point, and any offline games that exist. You have a self-stocking fridge and kitchen so you’ll never go hungry, though you won’t be able to order takeout. You have electricity, running taps, and a bin that empties every night, and anything you break is repaired on its own by morning.

You can't connect with the outside world in any way. The moment you choose to leave permanently, you'll return the moment you left and not have aged a day, regardless of how long you spend there.

How long do you think you’d last? You even have a clock/calendar on any software so you can track exactly how long you’ve been there, and the pocket dimension has an Earth-like day/night cycle.

Would you prevent the Second World War and save tens of millions of lives and their descendants if it meant you had to live in the alternate, unrecognisable 2026 as the sole surviving creature of an aborted timeline, with everyone you ever knew having been erased?

The Great Depression never happens, the Weimar government becomes a stable democracy, and Hitler never becomes Chancellor.

In 2026 of this new timeline, you would have a place, papers, and even a windfall equivalent to $10,000,000 so you didn’t have to work, but you’d also be utterly alone navigating a world absent of anyone you’ve ever loved.

Would you accept? You get to save countless lives and you get some cash to make it worth your while.

If everyone in your city evacuated, leaving you behind, just so they could enjoy a secret national holiday about being away from you in particular, what would you do during that day?

Security cameras and stuff are still rolling and crime remains illegal, so when the police come home, they’ll arrest you if there’s any evidence of you doing something against the law. What would you do if you found your city completely vacant?

You have a Time-Lord great-grandfather and he’s suddenly decided to drop into your life

He apologises for not being in your life until this point and wants to make it up to you by giving you the education he had.

You get to study at the Academy. It’s closed off to lesser species, but since you’re 12.5% Gallifreyan and grandpa has put a word in for you, they’ll let you in. The tuition will take decades but, if you study hard, by the end of it, you’ll understand science and technology billions of years ahead of our own, and you’ll be made into a Time Lord, which comes with living forever, barring several accidents. Twelve to be exact.

If you ever do decide to come back to Earth, you aren’t allowed to interfere in the affairs and history of this or other planets. I’m sure if you wanted to, you could just happen to have a winning lottery ticket and they’d turn a blind eye to that, but you can’t take over the world or rewrite history.

Given all of this, would you accept grandpa’s offer? It would mean being away from your family and Earth for decades, even if, from their point of view, you could pop back the moment you left.

If you were a knight, would you do this quick money-making schemes

As usual, there’s a war on, and you’ve been charged with going to each individual county, and conscripting men. You’ve been given a sum of money to actually get fighting gear for them.

You can get rich asf by first pocketing the king has given you meant to furnish forth the men. Then, you can go to the houses of well-to-do people, like the eldest son of a yeoman and accept bribes. You’ll only get poor people this way who can’t afford the bribe, and they’ll all almost certainly die in the battle without proper equipment. If you follow the steps above, you can get £300, which is enough to buy an estate and retire. What do you do?

What resources exist for people my age?

I’m 19 so I wanted to do a skills bootcamp mostly the guaranteed interview at the end and to have a skill. The problem is that I turned 19 only a month ago so I only have access to them in August or September. What can I do instead of that if I want a job or a skill? I had considered a trade but apprenticeships are very competitive and if I’m going to go to a college for months just so I stand a chance at being accepted for one, I may as well just wait until I’m old enough for the skills bootcamp.

$10,000,000 but you’re incredibly tight

You’re so miserly and stingy, that despite the sudden windfall, you refuse to spend anything beyond what you need. $10,000,000 is more than enough to live comfortably on the interest alone, but that makes no difference to you.

Would you accept the money if it meant having the security, but also not even being able to have nice things because you refuse to get them?

If you could choose to receive a magic button that ends all life if the universe if pressed deliberately by you and only you, would you take it?

The button is magic and not connected to anything so you’d look like a crazy person trying to use this as leverage or to extort humanity. The allure of this is meant to be having the whole of creation in your pocket. Unless you’re feeling omnicidal, you don’t have to press it. You can keep it just for the psychological boost of keeping it.

Would you accept this button and would you press it?
