First, I love the image quality produced from this lens. I purchased this lens from MPB and unfortunately it’s front focusing. I tested it on multiple M bodies and compared it to other lenses I have, and this is the only one that does it.
I considered sending it to DAG for calibration, but at $185 (not including shipping and insurance), I don’t think it’s worth it.
Needless to say, I’m on the hunt again. If you have one and are interested in selling it, let me know. Preferably in black paint.
Nailing focus at 1.4 is challenging but when you do it’s pretty magical. My RF might also be out of alignment but it gets close enough! I’m liking this pairing.
If in the works, I hope Fuji goes fully screenless and no video for the X-Pro4, like Leica’s M-D series.
The X-Pro3 already got close with the hidden screen, but I wish Fuji would just commit to the idea. No rear screen, no constant reviewing, no second guessing every shot.
That’s what I like about the Leica M-D concept. The images aren’t magically better, but the experience changes. You stop chimping, start shooting more and worrying less about how the image looks. You trust yourself more and stay in the moment.
To me, the X-Pro line has always been about feel as much as specs, so a screenless X-Pro4 would actually make sense. It wouldn’t be for everyone, but that’s kind of the point. Fuji should let the X-Pro be the weird, intentional camera in the lineup. Make it be a photographers camera.
What do y’all think?
Been looking for an M10-D for a while and it finally happened. Such a beautiful camera and slim, too.

My little spiky garden strawberry.
In typical bird photography fashion whenever I don’t have my camera on me I see these kind interactions happening in perfect light, right out in the open.
If y'all would like to see some of these without Reddit's compression to see how the Mandler renders let me know and I can send y'all a DM to a dropbox link with a couple of them. I do ask that you don't share them outside out of the chat. Thanks!
If your Mandler circular or square hood is loosey goosey this is a pretty easy fix if you don't want to spend an extra $120 for the Squarehood version.
Received the lens today. Doing some testing around the house.
The aluminum build has some decent heft to it, definitely doesn't feel like a cheap plastic toy. The hood has a bit of a wiggle, but it stays put well enough. This glass has "character"; the center is surprisingly sharp, but you get this wild circular blur as you move toward the edges. Honestly, for $350, it’s a fun little lens. I'm definitely keeping it in the rotation. I think it looks great, too.
I’m looking for one. Who has one and wants to sell? Trade + cash or cash.
