Best joint support supplement?

Best joint support supplement?

Hi all! I adopted my sweet baby Isidore a few months ago and he has settled in wonderfully with my big yellow boy Abe. Izzy was found on the street with his leg bone literally sticking out of his body and a rescue saved him and did the amputation. This is my first time having a tripod cat but so far the care isn’t that much different than my four legged cats. He’s the sweetest little boy and loves to groom his brother and I and is always up for playtime!

My question is about joint supplements. I’ve been thinking that it’s better to start him on something when he’s young (3) then wait until he’s older. He’s also FIV+ and I’m not sure if that will affect anything. I’ve been reading about joint supplements, green lipped muscles, and prescription medication. What option did you choose for your cat and why? I have a cat specific clinic vet appointment for him in a few weeks and will of course speak to his doctor before making any changes. Thanks all!

Books with weird girls who have (preferably diagnosed) severe mental illnesses?

Hi all. I unfortunately have severe mental illnesses, several of which are running rampant right now after a failed attempt at changing my antipsychotics. I’m slowly switching back from Latuda to Olanzapine under my doctor’s direction and have begun ketamine infusions for my severe treatment resistant depression. I’ve been perfectly stable for two years but decided to try to switch anti psychotics after gaining extreme amounts of weight on the one I am now getting back on. I’m also on a medical leave from work and basically nonfunctional. So that’s been fun!

Anyways, I would love to spend some time not crying to my cats and instead doing some reading. I’d love to read about girls who have mental illnesses. Not vague sadness but actual major depressive disorder. Diagnosed BPD or personality disorders. Autism of moderate or higher support needs. Those are just examples, any mental illness is fine. I would preferably like for the characters to actually be diagnosed and going through mental health treatment, or at least mental health care is mentioned.

There’s so many books about vaguely mentally ill characters but I’d like someone explicitly diagnosed or at least clearly has a specific mental illness and not just vague sadness (actual depression is more than welcome). Any suggestions would be very appreciated!

Looking for a salon/nail tech that can help with transforming picked at and bitten nails

Hi all. I have a bad nervous habit of both biting my nails but also picking around the cuticles. I try to curb it but nothing I do ever works. I’ve put this off for years but I need to finally get this under control and I thought that the best way to do it is to work with someone who can help me go from what I have now to something fun like I see on Instagram. I think that if I have really cute nails I will be far less likely to attack them.

I am Autistic so do have sensory issues with press ons so I’m a bit hesitant to get gel or acrylics (I don’t know the difference) but I’d like to try. I haven’t gotten my nails done since I was a kid and even then it was just polish. I’m turning 30 in November and have a lot I want to achieve before then. I hope the nails will be semi easy to check off the to do list!

I’m not sure what a regular budget for nails is and how often I will need to go so tips there would be great. I also would like to know the difference between nail techs (they’re just freelance right?) and a salon and who would be better to go to for my situation. I’m in Fishtown and have a car so I can drive as long as there’s parking. Any advice would be appreciated!

Raised my prices by $2 and have gone from 1-3 requests a day to 1-3 a week. Should I drop my prices back?

Hi all. I’ve gone back and forth about raising my prices for months and finally decided to do it. At the time I had 60+ five star reviews and was doing solely drop in cat visits for $18 per half hour and $29 for an hour since I started with Rover. I was getting 1-3 new requests a day and doing 3-5 drop ins on a daily basis. I am a star sitter and the number one cat sitter in my area in the rankings. I was so actually was turning people away I was so busy. So I finally raised my prices with encouragement from this sub to $20 for a half hour and $35 for an hour.

Well fast forward to a month and a half later and my bookings have plummeted. I’m getting maybe one new client requesting me a week with the rest of my bookings coming from regulars. My regulars are all still booking me without issue thankfully. I have no idea what happened. I did have a negative interaction with a client a few weeks ago where their cat bit me unprovoked several times over the course of two days. I handled it appropriately with Rover and was found not at fault. I’m beginning to think that that is also having my requests go down. But my requests dropped literally within a day of raising my rates and the biting incident happened almost a month after that.

Does anyone have any advice? I feel that my services are worth $20 for a half hour visit. I specialize in taking care of medically complex cats but I get plenty of healthy cats too. My schedule is always fairly open as I work from home and can do mornings/lunch/evening visits. I live in a major city in a popular neighbourhood and have a car. I provide 10+ pictures a visit and write extremely detailed Rover cards. Not to toot my own horn but I’m a really good cat sitter.

I’m hoping to avoid dropping my prices down again but I don’t see another option. Rover is a huge help financially and I can’t afford my current income loss. Any help would be very much appreciated.

My psychiatrist told me that it’s a good idea to be creative after my depression treatments. What craft can I do that would fit in and be wanted for a trinket box?

Hi all. I’m currently going through a resurgence of my severe depression (don’t worry I’m in very intensive treatment) and found trinket trades which has been a fun spot of whimsy in a currently very unfun world. There’s one in my neighbourhood and I’ve been slowly going to the others ones across my city and having a great time. I’m running low on trinkets to trade and thought to go thrifting to get some more. But then I remember what my doctor told me, that it’s a positive thing to be creative after infusions. I’m not much of an artist but I think that making little trinkets to put in the boxes would be a fun way to combine my new special interest (I’m Autistic as well, some people get all the luck lol) and treatment goals.

Does anyone have suggestions for fun crafts/diys that would fit in the average trinket box? I’d also like to make something that people would want to take so it doesn’t just sit there wasting space. I’m really not creative at all but I can crochet, do diamond art, and do basic hand sewing. Also happy to learn a new craft! If possible I would love for it to be something I can do fairly easily that won’t upset me if I mess up. I know this is a lot of parameters but if you have any ideas I would really appreciate them!

I lost my first 50lbs (of the 150lbs I need to lose) so I decided to treat myself!

I started at 301 and am finally at 250.6! I’m hoping to lose half my body weight so I decided to buy myself something fun for every 50lbs lost. I’ve been wanting a Ninja Creami for forever and think that this will be a great way to make eating healthier fun!

I was a part of weird Reddit drama and now I’m invited to be interviewed on NPR. Help!

Hi all. I was recently involved in some very weird Reddit drama about a book subreddit that was taken over by mods pushing “AI literature”. It was a wild 24 hours and I was in the thick of it for most of the day before it got resolved. So a few days ago I got a Reddit message from a reporter through NPR asking if I was interested in talking about my experience. We talked over email and now I have an interview scheduled for Wednesday and I’m terrified.

I have no issue public speaking (I did theatre as a kid) but it’s my voice itself that I’m worried about. I have a very specifically pitched voice with a a speech impediment. It’s not a good podcast voice. On top of it I’m Autistic which means that my actual speech can sound a bit off. Not in a bad way or anything awful but people can typically tell that somethings a bit off about me. I’m terrified of the idea of being laughed at online.

I’m really excited for the interview and think that this is a once in a lifetime bucket list kind of moment. I am not nearly interesting enough to ever go on NPR again. So I’m doing it.

What can I do to prepare for the interview? Is it weird if I bring notes for everything? I’m being interviewed from home if that matters.

If I can do notes, what should I write down? A timeline and username log? I have a few general questions from her (timeline, thoughts on AI in creative spaces) but nothing concrete.

How judgemental are people who listen to podcasts? I’ve read a lot of discussion of vocal fry and while that’s not how my voice sounds it makes me a bit nervous to have others discussing it.

Can you walk me through how a podcast taping goes? I got some technical details but nothing really about how the conversation will flow.

Any advice or encouragement you give me would be wonderful. Despite my fears I am super excited!

How do you organize your photos and notes for Rover cards?

Hi all! I take a lot of photos and leave very long notes for my clients. They all love it and 90% of my reviews go out of their way to mention it positively. My problem is that I don’t take photos and write the notes on the app. I’ll have it crash or have to change pages for a minute and the work I made disappears. So I write my notes in my notes app and copy paste, and I take my photos in my camera app and upload them to Rover. This works well but I forget to delete things from my phone itself. I end up with dozens a photos a day at times and the notes app becomes impossible to sort through. I’m trying to get better about deleting them right away but it still slips my mind. How do you all organize your photos and notes, and how do I clean up my phone a bit? Thanks!

Tried to buy an audiobook but when I went to download it I received error code ID-13

Hi all. I bought an audiobook but it’s not allowing me to download it to my library. It shows in my library as not downloaded but when I click on it I’m getting error code ID-13. I can’t remove the book from my library because it was never downloaded. My account is not missing the spent credit and when I go to the book’s page it just continues to load and does not let me repurchase.

I’ve tried closing the app and going back in as well as signing out and signing back in. I can’t find a good fix online. Should I contact Audible or is this something someone here could help me with?

Is there a way to automatically lock rates for all existing clients?

Hi all. I’m a cat drop in only sitter and since January I’ve blown up. I do five sittings a day most days and more on weekends. That’s on top of my full time 8:30-5 job which is thankfully work from home. Plus I’m getting a second degree online. The money has been amazing but I’m running myself ragged lately. I had to tell a white lie to get out of Dungeons and Dragons tomorrow because I forgot to book it in my calendar and already booked seven drop ins.

I have fifty five star reviews as or this week and am the top cat sitter in my city neighbourhood. As such I want to raise my rates slightly ($18 to $20) to hopefully be comfortable being a bit more picky with the clients I choose. But I have an extremely loyal base of clients, many of whom have booked me 5+ times. They book me enough that I don’t mind offering them the rate they first hired me for. Is there a way to lock rates for all existing clients or so I really need to go message by message to lock them all manually? Thanks all and have a great weekend!

Hi all. I’m in the middle of a big declutter and am getting rid of 100+ books. These are all in good shape and mostly modern and, at least semi popular, literary fiction. I could sell them individually but that would take forever. I would love to trade them in to a used bookstore for either cash or store credit. I’m happy to get even a small amount, like a dollar per book. just really don’t want to donate them to Goodwill. I have a car so don’t mind driving out of the city if need be. If this proves to be too much of a hassle I’ll donate them to little free librarys. Thanks for any advice and have a great weekend!

I posted about a month ago asking about Ireland exclusive Jellycats as my good friend was going to Dublin. I’ve been wanting to get into Jellycats and decided that this gave me the chance to get a more unique one! I finally saw my friend the other day who handed Blathnaid over. I love her!! She is so soft and so cute. I am totally sold on Jellyscats. She is the first of what will be many!
