Nervous to start taking it

I've been prescribed Amitriptyline to help with depression. But I also have migraines, PMDD, and fibromyalgia, and GP said it might help all those things.

I feel nervous to start because I'm scared of feeling worse before I get better. I'm feeling really bad right now and don't know how i could cope with feeling worse and still do life. Do i need to book a week off work to get used to it?
The idea was I just take it during luteal phase, but i'm on day 21 now and feeling awful (and had migraine for 2 days).. was gonna take tonight but then got scared reading about feeling so tired when you start. And i'm already super fatigues rn. So maybe i should just start after my period and then cut back to just luteal when i'm used to it? i don't know :(

I've had bad experiences in the past with antidepressants and getting side effects (both physical and mental/emotional), but it's been around 8 years since I last tried one. I've never tried amitriptyline before.

I welcome any advice or reassurance.

How to find historical records from mental health institutions in Jamaica?

A relative of mine was institutionalised in Jamaica in the 1950s, approx 1954/1955 (after returning from 2 years in England, and giving birth to her 6th child who died shortly afterwards).

She was from Hanover but it's thought she may have been institutionalised in Kingston, as I think there was only one mental health hospital on the island at the time.

However, she sent a letter in 1964 that was addressed from 'Jericho PG, Hanover'

Nobody knows what happened to her - if she left the institution, or how and when she died. But surely there must be records of people institutionalised somewhere? But no idea how to find them.

Grateful for any insights or suggestions 🙏🏾

Is Tumela Gut a real place? And is there more than one Oracabessa?

I'm half Jamaican (my Dad was born in Hanover) and I've just started reading A Tall History of Sugar by Curdella Forbes. It's a novel so I'm aware the place names may not all be real, but I am familiar with some of them so far.

It's set in Oracabessa-on-Sea, so I assumed it was set in St Mary... But then it talks about somewhere called Tumela Gut - is this a real place??

It says "To get there you traveled west five miles on foot from Ora-on-Sea, passing through another district named Jericho."

This caught my attention because my family are from Claremont, Hanover which is very close to somewhere called Jericho. But a quick Google told me there are multiple Jerichos in different parishes of Jamaica... Though, not in St Mary?

Then, later the novel says "Tumela is one of five districts that bordered each other. The others were Jericho, that I told you of, Mount Peace, Georgia, and Cascade."

This caught my attention again because there is somewhere called Cascade close to Jericho in Hanover.

So now I'm a bit confused. Is this book set in St Mary, or Hanover, or some fictional version of Jamaica that just uses some real place names?

Does anyone have any helpful insights?

Thanks in advance! 🙏🏾

There is a similar post but it's a couple of years old and looks like some of the places suggested are no longer open.

Any new suggestions?

Somewhere to work from on a laptop. Even better if it has views!
