On first glance Grounded may look like the video game version of “Honey I Shrunk The Kids”: Four teenagers roughly the size of ants must find a way to return to normal while trying to survive the dangers of ‘The Back Yard’.
Sounds simple enough, and for the most part it is. However if the player is able to look past the giant killer bugs and the bright nostalgia of the late 80s and early 90s, the game is actually darker than it appears. Especially in the sequel.

Broad Stroke Key Points:
• An international Mega-Corporation with a dubious scientific division practices unethical research and development focused on the advancement and application of technology. They answer the question of “can we, and how” but never ask “should we, and what are the limits”.
• A cold and utterly ruthless director with no morals willing to make any sacrifice for the sake of science and profit.
• A brilliant, if eccentric, scientist battling personal demons as he is caught in a losing battle between family and the scientific breakthrough of the century.
• A community experiencing an unprecedented number of missing children.
• The effects of the game’s McMuffin on local wildlife.

[Side Note For Shy And Possum]

Hi there, big fan. Just wanted to say that if you guys even make this into an episode I would suggest playing it as a four man team. The reason I say this is that although the game is perfectly playable solo, the player characters often spout “color commentary” that offers some additional insight into the game’s world. The lore is often expressed in the form of context clues, notes, and recordings found throughout the game. And that the developers are quite amenable and should be open to interviews, discussions, and offering commentary about the development of the game.

This was an idea I had the other day and just wanted to see if there was any interest or possibility of the game ever being covered. I mean I know that the game is not really all that Grimdark when compared with everything else the crew has covered. But I figured that it would be kind of funny to see how the guys react when they learn of the darker elements. Namely the kidnapping experimentation execution and disposal of teenage “test subjects”.
To be honest, I almost feel like Shy would do this to hear either Kirioth or DK to say “Not the kids. Don’t experiment on the kids”. And of course Possum having a field day with all the “millennial” jokes Possum could make.

On the surface the world of Grounded may seem like a video game version of “Honey I Shrunk The Kids”, however once you look past the bright colors of the late 80s and early 90s the grimdark elements start to show.

Specifically the one under the trash can by the Oak Tree, the wood pile near the fire pit, and the one in the carrot patch that most of thought was the black ant hill…

If there’s not, is there a way to manipulate the outcome or is the bag strictly RNG?

I’m the designated builder and crafter of my group and I would absolutely love if all the objects I have to recycle get place in a bag I can pickup instead of a loose pile that has a high chance of “exploding” even with my buggy set to Gather.

So I’m back in the wall with the water faucet and I came to the section with the flathead screwdriver and I can’t really see the water. I can see the light rippling around the room, but the water itself is practically invisible. In fact I can’t even see the water line on the screwdriver. The only indication that I’m in water to the change in animation and movement.

If this is a settings issue, could someone please tell me how to change it back to “slightly blue”?

So I’ve played both games but I’ve never quite figured out what the Arrow means when building walls. I’ve always assumed that the arrow shows the direction the “Exterior Side” is facing.

Please correct me. I honestly don’t know.

Personally I think I’d go with Xeno Studies and specialize in Xeno Technology.

I know that Biologist and Genetors are the one who study “Organic Science”. But I heard that there was a sect or group within their ranks that prioritized biological improvement over cybernetics because they believe the human body is a machine in-and-of-itself. I don’t think there’s much official lore or information about them since they might be such a tiny minority within their ranks priesthood.

On July 5th my AMD Radeon RX 7600 stopped working after trying to play Space Marine 2.

I have done everything I can think of short of physically removing my graphics card and taking my computer into a shop to get looked at.
• I’ve uninstalled, reinstalled, and factory reset my drivers several times.
• I’ve factory reset my whole computer
• I tried to use BIOS
• Stopped all auto updates
• Physically cleaned and dusted the PC
• Checked the wires
• I’ve even checked the motherboard and CPU. Both are fine…

Everything else about my computer works fine. But when I try to play a game, any game, the frame rate drops to 10fps. 15fps if I’m lucky. Oddly enough my audio is completely unaffected.

Guys, I’m about to go full Techpriest; break out the incense, acquire the sacred thermal paste, and pray… that or take it to a shop.

I went exploring the changes to the landscape around the boarder of the pond and mountain areas and ended up under the trash can by the lamppost and oak tree. While there I noticed what looked like a closed off entrance to a tunnel of some kind. Does anyone know what it could be for? I’m thinking a lab of some sort.

This is not a compliment, just an observation.

I know we recently had an episode on the Skitarii, but I think it might be interesting to have an indepth episode on the many different and often overlooked/forgotten aspects of the Adeptus Mechanicus. Specifically the different specializations and factions within. For example…

•The ranks within the hierarchy and how to move between them.

•What an Electro-Priest is and why there are two factions of them in a perpetual “Cold War”. And their inspirations.

•The lesser known biological divisions.

•The assassins of the Techpriests

I don’t know what happened but some of my progress has been reset.

I loaded into the game and so much of my stuff has changed. My gear and inventory, and even my buggy inventory, is completely different from when I logged off. I lost most of my progress on my mutations, I completely lost all my buggy mutations. Hell, I even lost my Orb Weaver! Basically everything that I and my buggy were carrying or had equipped has been completely lost and changed for no reason. And because of the auto-saving system, I even lost the save files of before this happened.

The only thing that seems to not have changed is anything that I have built and whatever I had stored in a chest at the time. Also, for some strange reason all the markers on my map are now active. Even the ones I had previously turned off.

I’m honestly not sure how much content there is for such a subject, but I think it would be a very interesting subject to explore.
If currency alone is too lacking in content for a dedicated episode, then perhaps it could be expanded to cover “the speculative economics of Warhammer 40K”. It could cover how the many levels of trade functions within and between each faction.
