Wo bekommen wir Bettwäsche her? 😅

Would swapping the port enable HDMI output on a Pixel 5?

From my understanding, it's the port that doesn't allow for USB-C to HDMI, but the chip set does.

I am super new to all the tech stuff but really want to learn. I was given an old Pixel 5 with a broken screen and I am trying to figure out what to do with it. I already installed Lineage OS to learn about adb and fastboot. If I got it to do HDMI output I could basically use it on my drawing tablet (with a screen) and make a drawing station.

Can I make the screen show up?

I got some old phones and stuff from someone. One of them is a Google Pixel 5 with a mostly unresponsive screen.

I also have a drawing tablet (XP Pen Artist 12) and a USB-C Hub I used on my laptop before and then on the Pixel to control it with a mouse.

I used a Powerbank for power, and the tablet is clearly registering touch because it lets me control the phone with the pen, but when I turn the screen on it says "No Signal".

I am super new to all this and want to learn, but I don't know enough yet to understand what could be wrong here. If anyone has an idea, I'd love to hear it.

Alte (kaputte) Elektronik

Waiting on Certainty

I've been having weird neurological symptoms ever since 2021, both spells of just complete absence and random tic-like episodes often triggered by loud noises/flashing lights/general overwhelm. Something I recently learned could be seizures in and of themselves.

Two weeks ago I had a full blown seizure in the middle of the night after watching fireworks. I went to urgent care the next morning (a hospital's pre-ER kinda thing) only to be told they don't have a neurology department and to contact the university clinic, because apparently tics and periods of being completely out of it are potential seizures.

I received the rudest, most dismissive message back (Including an excessive use of exclamation marks), telling me they were only for "special cases" and they were a "special clinic" so I needed a neurologist referal. I have been able to get appointments with several other departments of the university clinic without a specialist referal, so I didn't think about it.

Well, my previous neurologist already completely blew me off at the beginning of the year when I presented my concerns about these symptoms and barely even wanted to treat my migraines, and I have been looking for a new neurologist since (as well as him being in a whole different city being pretty untenable longterm)

For that, I need another referral from my GP. I also work full time and only just got a new manager, so my only chance would be an afternoon walk in as appointments are not available until next month. Online, and until recently accurately, they have two days a week specificed that they take late walk-ins

They don't anymore. I went there right after work today only to be told I'd need an appointment. I get to wait another week.

Since that seizure, I have been more sensitive to light, but nothing crazy, I just have been more careful when it comes to my.media consumption. To relax, I played Tears of the Kingdom and got into a bossfight.

Every. Single. Hit. Made the whole screen flash. I shouldn't have pushed through, especially once my head started hurting, but I did because it was necessary to progress. It was only three minutes or so. But I was so out of it after, had both some absence episodes and several minutes of uncontrollable tics, tasted metal and probably almost had another full seizure.

I am so tired, so exhausted now, all I have been able to do for the last two hours has been to lay in bed in the dark. I am not even sure if I slept, or where the last two hours went...

And I still have to work, and do daily things, with all this hanging over my head. I fucking sucks man...

Also, ja.

A doctor finally listened

Over the last year I have become more and more allergic to more nuts, something that has been going on since 2022 where I became allergic to sun and sweat following me getting Covid a second time (I have since had it 6 times total)

Now that I am allergic to nuts with some bad symptoms, my GP finally referred me to a doctor who could allergy test me.

She took my entire history and listened to the whole timeline, and I brought up the possibility if MCAS, and while she can't offer a testing appointment until October, she wants to blood- and skin test me, as well as do a blood test for mastocytosis. If that is negative, she wants to consider MCAS.

Despite having to wait, it feels good to have someone listen to me, finally.

Lyme disease - again. Diagnosed on my wedding day.

As the title says, I've got it again.

Caught it as a toddler and was extremely sick for a while, and definitely believe that it has affected me until now.

Today, I got married. The last few weeks we spent a lot of time outside as our "venue" was in the woods and despite the best tick/mosquito prevention spray we could get our hands on, I ended up with quite a number of mosquito bites.

One of the bites I thought was from a mosquito suddenly turned into the telltale bullseye rash, and my wife caught it on our way back from the courthouse (she used to be a med student for quite some time though never finished her studies) and urged me to either do a telehealth appointment (covered by insurance here in Germany) or see my GP tomorrow.

I checked out the Telehealth app, and they had a specific tab to book an appointment FOR tick bites. I got in with a doctor within the hour and he took it more seriously that many doctors have before.

He looked at pictures of the bite and had me tell him all my symptoms and progressions, and told me that it was essentially textbook. He told me not to bother with blood tests as they would be negative at this stage for any normal person, and positive for me regardless of if I was infected because I had it quite severely before.

Long story short, looking at 20 days of doxycycline that I have to pick up tomorrow. Also just had to book an emergency appointment with a dentist because my wisdom teeth are starting to cause issues, so that's tomorrow, and then I have some diagnostic tests next Wednesday for unrelated stuff just....what a day.

I just swapped all lights in my apartment

I read some of the research and experiences about green light and migraines, and used a green light as my main light in my office. I noticed how much better I ended up feeling, so I got green LED bars for the entire apartment.

They arrived today (a total of 6) and I placed them everywhere to get constant green light throughout the apartment. I can not say how much it might help in the long run, but I do have hope, and worst case my apartment looks like some evil scientics lab from a cartoon
