I encrypted a hard drive and am trying to permanently remove the encryption.

I don’t even know where to start. I know my password. The external hard drive is drive d on my computer but I don’t even see a drive d on my veracrypt app.

Once I find it, how do I remove the encryption so I can use it as a normal hard drive?

Also, I do have the option to format the drive when I click it from explorer. Don’t know if that is another way to remove the encryption.

Switched out laundry machines and accidentally hooked the hoses to the opposite sides… cold wash used hot water

I’m so incredibly frustrated with myself. My spouse was the first one to do laundry with our new machine. We always used cold water but my spouse ended up using hot because I had the hoses connected to the opposite sides. My spouse doesn’t know this happened yet. I found out today when trying to do laundry. I forgot an item and put it in the wash and discovered the water was hot instead of cold. I was confused and after doing some thinking realized the hoses were plugged in the opposite sides.

How much damage did this cause to my spouses clothes and what kind of shrinkage should we expect? I’m going to break the news today after my spouse comes home. I’m really upset with having to disappoint with my incompetence.

Please tell me if I’m good to plug in and turn on. Hoping this works without any safety issues. Thank you!

First photo is the instructions

Second photo is what came with the dryer (was working)

Third photo is my rewire based on instructions and what everyone told me to do.

Fourth photo: is that loose star hex on the screw supposed to go ontop of the green wire or underneath? I put it on top.

Please let me know if it’s all compliant and I’ll plug it in.

Thank you for all of your assistance and patience.

I don’t understand what’s going on. The dryer that came with the house was wires I’m like this and has been working but apparently it’s wrong.

Please help me. I bought a new cable and followed exactly what the set up was

First picture: this is how it was wired. It came with the home. It was working in this set up.

Second picture: instructions. Looks different than what the previous owners did.

Third picture: what I did. I copied the same configuration from the first picture.

Can someone tell me what to do? I’m so frustrated. I thought it was a simple DIY. I genuinely don’t understand why something different was done.

Edit: there’s also a very thing green wire screwed at the bottom. It’s not in the instructions so unsure what this changes.

Please help? Is this done to standard?

I had to switch out my dryer cable because it was damaged. Is this correct? In the center, is the green wire supposed to go under the white wire? Also is it dangerous if the copper underneath the wires are slightly exposed? I don’t think the green and white copper are touching but I’m sure that’s problematic if they do.

I also did not mess with the two wires attached to the green screws. Unsure if I’m supposed to do something there.

I don’t want to plug in and switch breaker on until I’m 100 percent.

If I deleted an external HDD but no longer have access to it, is it possible to recover its data from a PC recycle bin and save to a different external HDD?

Wondering if I can do this. Unsure if the files would be in the PC recycle bin or in the external HDD recycle bin. I never saw one for the external HDD.

Recovering a hard drive of family photos

Hello, I have several hard drives of family photos. One hard drive I deleted. I didn’t reformat the drive or do anything else with it. Just highlighted and hit the delete button. How hard is it for me to recover this data and what percentage of the data can I get back? I probably had around 15k photos on that hard drive, organized in folders. I’m hoping the folder organization remains so I don’t recover random photos out of order.

How do I permanently remove the encryption?

Another member opened my eyes that family photos should be accessible if something happens to me. I mainly didn’t want strangers to have access. Is there a way to remove the encryption so if something happens to me, the HDD is accessible to anyone?

If veracrypt stops service, are you locked out?

I’m curious because I don’t want to lose my family memories. I am tempted to buy a new HDD that supports password functions to avoid losing my data.

Is there anything else you need to do besides creating a password?

I saw a video that says to backup or copy something to a computer. I don’t believe I saw that prompt.

How do I recover files from an external HDD while maintained file structure?

I have multiple HDDs of family photos. It’s honestly a mess. I wrongfully deleted one HDD. I didn’t reformat it or do anything else to it. I just deleted the files and was done with it. What’s the best way for me to recover it all with the same file names and file structure?

What is the fastest and easiest way for me to build photo albums?

I have thousands of photos that I’d like to organize into folders. It won’t be possible doing this on my iPhone. I’m staring at my iCloud Photos folder on my windows PC and I don’t even see any folders from my albums on here. It’s just a mess of individual photos.

How do I synch my photos on my computer to one drive? iCloud is interfering.

I’m stumped and I can’t get a resolution. I want to use iCloud and one drive but can’t figure out a way to allow both of these systems to operate on my computer. I have a bunch of old photos taken from old digital cameras on my PC that I want backed up on one drive

Turo is making me feel uncomfortable with their liability placed on guests.

I feel like I’m getting scammed. Everything looks all welcoming but at checkout I’m being told at that all damages need to be covered by me “regardless of who’s at fault”. I’m not paying a cent if it isn’t my fault. What a ridiculous statement.

Why is Insurance Coverage ridiculously high?

One month of coverage is like 4-6 months of coverage through a reputable insurance agency. After booking a vehicle through Turo, I’m honestly just getting negative vibes with the hidden price adjustments and the insurance plan. Wished I just rented from a normal rental company.

Why are movers so horrible with using packing paper?

They come with tons of sheets but they are not wrapping some of my breakable or valuable stuff in paper. Here I am doing their job for them. Super annoyed and frustrated right now.

Is it bad if I put duplicates stacked behind each other?

I don’t do this with holos but my base set Pokémon cards (non holo) are stacked as duplicates behind each other. I don’t know what else to do and I don’t think they are worth enough to buy a separate binder. Thoughts?

Best bumper tree holder

I thought I wanted to buy the rogue tree but after realizing I can buy a set with wheels and even a barbell holder, I’m starting to eye the titan tree. It seems to be the only company out of rogue and rep to have an all encompassing option. Anyone have any opinions?

Rep PR-1100 vs Rogue RML-390F

I’ve been looking at these two flat foot racks for a while. While I do like the Rogue, I noticed this rack is x2 heavier than the Rep rack which is wild to me. I’m wondering what everyone thinks of these two racks and what your opinions are if price isn’t really an issue.
