I finally released the demo for my first game on itch! a slot machine roguelite defense game. Feedback would mean a lot!

Hi everyone!

I just released the demo for Slotbound, my first game.

I’ve always loved strategy and roguelite games, so I wanted to make something where luck and planning constantly fight each other.

In Slotbound, you spin a slot machine to summon units, survive enemy waves, absorb units to evolve them, and use items/relics to manipulate the odds in your favor.

It’s still early and there’s a lot I want to improve, but the demo is finally playable now.

You can play it on: https://optimaarch.itch.io/slotbound

I’d really appreciate any feedback. Thanks for reading!

I’m too close to my first game to tell if this trailer actually works

This is the new demo trailer for Slotbound, my first game that I’ve been working on for about 8 months.

It’s a roguelite defense game where you spin for units, absorb them to grow stronger, choose upgrades and cores, and try to survive enemy waves.

I’m trying to figure out if the trailer explains the game clearly enough without feeling too slow or overloaded.

I’d really appreciate honest feedback on the trailer

Thanks for reading!

I spent 8 months making my first ever game, a roguelite where a slot machine decides your army

Hi everyone,

I finally released the first playable demo of my first-ever solo game, Slotbound.

I spent the last 8 months working on it mostly by myself, and the core idea is:

What if a slot machine built your army?

Slotbound is a slot machine roguelike defense game where you spin to summon units, absorb them to make them stronger, choose upgrades, and try to survive waves of enemies.

Since this is my first game, the project went through a lot of rebuilding. I changed the UI multiple times, adjusted the balance, reworked parts of the core loop, kept trying to make the game feel more understandable and satisfying to play.

It’s still an early demo version, so there are definitely things that need improvement. But after 8 months of working on it, I finally felt ready to put it in front of players and start getting real feedback.

The game is playable now on itch.io:

itch.io: https://optimaarch.itch.io/slotbound

The Steam version is currently waiting for review, so it should be available later.

I’d really appreciate any feedback. Thanks for checking it out!

I spent 8 months making my first ever game. A roguelike defense where a slot machine builds your army

Hi everyone,

I finally released the first playable demo of my game Slotbound on itch.io.

It’s a slot machine roguelike defense game where every spin can change your army.

You spin the slot machine to summon units, absorb units to make them stronger, choose upgrades, and try to survive waves of enemies. The main idea is that you’re not just hoping for lucky spins you’re trying to turn random results into an actual battle plan.

This is still an early demo version, so there are definitely things that need improvement.

The game is playable now on itch.io:

The steam version is currently waiting for review, so it should be available later.

I’d really appreciate any feedback. Thanks for checking it out!

I had no programming experience, but I finally released my first game made with LÖVE

Hi everyone,

After 8 months of working on my first game in LÖVE, I finally released the first public playable version of Slotbound today.

Slotbound is a slot machine roguelike defense game where you spin to summon units, absorb them to make them stronger, choose upgrades, and survive enemy waves.

This is my first game, so it went through a lot of rebuilding and polishing. I reworked the UI multiple times, adjusted the balance, changed parts of the core loop, and kept trying to make the slot machine + defense combination feel clear and fun instead of just random.

The current version is still an early playtest/demo, not a full release, but I wanted to finally put it in front of players and get real feedback.

You can play the current build here:

itch.io: https://optimaarch.itch.io/slotbound

I’m also waiting for the Steam review process to finish, so the Steam version should be available later.

Thanks for checking it out!

I worked on my first game for 8 months, and it’s finally out today

Hi everyone,

I spent the last 8 months building my first game, and today I finally made the first public playable version available on itch.io.

The game is called Slotbound

It’s a slot machine roguelike defense game where you spin to summon units, absorb them to make them stronger, choose upgrades, and try to survive waves of enemies.

This is my first game, so the project went through a lot of rebuilding. I changed the UI multiple times, reworked the balance, adjusted the core loop, rebuilt systems that felt confusing, and kept polishing until it started to feel like an actual playable game.

The current version is still an early playtest/demo, not a full release. There are definitely things that need improvement, but I wanted to finally put it in front of players and start getting real feedback.

I’d really appreciate feedback!

I can’t code, but after 8 months of building with AI, my first game is finally public

Hi everyone,

I’m not a developer, and before this project I had basically no programming or game development experience.

For the past 8 months, I’ve been building my first game almost entirely with AI and today I finally released the first public playable version on itch.io. and waiting for steam

The game is called Slotbound

It’s a slot machine roguelike defense game where you spin to summon units, absorb them to grow stronger, choose upgrades, and survive enemy waves.

This is not a finished full release yet. It’s an early playtest/demo version, and there are definitely things that still need improvement. But after months of rebuilding systems, fixing balance issues, changing the UI, and trying to make the game feel like an actual game rather than just an AI experiment, I finally felt ready to let people play it.

It still feels strange to me that an idea I had in my head became a real playable game even though I cannot code a single line by myself.

I’d really appreciate any feedback itch io

You can play it here

The game name is Slotbound

Thanks!

After 3 Steam capsule drafts, I made a final version using #2 and #3. did I keep the right parts?

I’m working on a roguelike defense game called Slotbound.

I tested 3 different Steam capsule directions, then made the final version mainly by combining ideas from #2 and #3.

My goal was:

- keep the action and stronger character movement from #2

- keep the cursed slot machine atmosphere from #3

- make the logo readable at a small Steam capsule size

My main worry is whether the final image is too busy, or if it still reads clearly in under 1 second.

If you saw this on Steam, what would you simplify first?

I thought #2 was the strongest Steam capsule, but my brother picked #1. Which one would you actually click?

I’m not a developer and this slot machine roguelike defense game was built almost entirely with AI

Hi everyone

I’m not a developer and had basically no programming or any game development experience before but I made this game.

Over the last 6 months, I’ve been building a slot machine roguelike defense game almost entirely with AI assistance.
- 100% of the game’s code was generated with AI. I absolutely cannot code a single line at all.
- Many visuals, animations, UI elements, Backgrounds, Main menu pixel arts & animations are also AI-generated
- Only few assets were bought or edited manually

The game mixes:
slot machine mechanics, roguelike, defense and basically its wave bsed survival.

I mainly focused on game direction, balancing, visual consistency, and polishing the overall experience while AI handled most of the technical implementation.
It’s honestly been pretty surreal seeing an idea in my head slowly become a real playable game despite not coming from a programming background.
Still a lot left to improve, but I wanted to share the progress here.

Feedback is welcome.

The game name is 'Slotbound'
