Peer Groups and Peer Counseling

I (24F) am looking around to see if there are any group counseling or group led discussion events where people can get together and talk about their troubles with others. It doesn’t necessarily have to be led by someone certified and in my case free is always better. I’m just curious if there are ways for people to get together and talk about their troubles.

Things I’m interested in personally:

- anxiety and depression
- ASD
- BPD
- Death, loss, and grief (specifically anxiety around death I haven’t dealt with loss yet)

Any advice would be welcome and others can share their interests as well!

Total Income to Bills ratio for Sliding Scale

I make an average income for my age class however my student loans make up about a quarter of my monthly income. Is there a way to include this in a sliding scale payment option? I’ve been trying to go to therapy with no insurance out of pocket but even $50 a session is a little too taxing on me. Looking for good options

Autistics with High Cholesterol

I am looking for any advice I can get with this issue!

I was told in January that I had a bit of high cholesterol and to work on a low cholesterol diet. So I changed as much as I could, changing out “bad” safe foods for more healthy frozen meal safe foods, switching from cream cheese chip dipping to cottage cheese dipping, trying whole grain bread for sandwiches and light mayo.

Went back to the doctor and my cholesterol is still high. I’m looking to make even more changes but I feel like it’s going to be a huge struggle to find foods and meals that don’t take a lot of prep work but still help me get back to healthy levels. I exercise moderately and I get at least 5k steps a day but definitely over 10k at least three days a week.

For people that have autism and battling high cholesterol do you have any tips and advice other than switch your chips with carrot sticks and you’ll never know the difference?

English to French Journaling

I’m looking to start writing out a daily journal and then translating it into French like I used to in high school because I remember that being a really useful tool. It’s been about 6 years since I’ve done any French so I know I’ll be getting things wrong. I want to be able to hold a general conversation well and also plan to spend some time in Canada so working with Québécois would be useful too. I plan to use WordReference for words I don’t know, but are there any tools I can use other than Google Translate to check my conjugations, sentence structure, etc?

Camping at Buttermilk?

Thinking about camping this weekend at buttermilk cause it’s still close to home and I can hit all the parks around and attend an event at K House but this is my first time camping and I’m nervous about it. I don’t even have all the gear I would need, I’ve never camped alone, it’s supposed to drop to low 60s but I’m worried that might still be too hot and I’m afraid I will hate it. Anyone have experience camping at buttermilk around this time of year

Boyfriends First Time

I’m watching my boyfriend play Undertale for the first time and he requested no hints or suggestions he wanted to play the game first blind. Unbeknownst to him because he’s engrained in gamer code he’s focused on gaining his exp and his love values so he’s unknowingly following the genocide route without knowing what it is, he’s already killed Toriel and now is on his way to kill papyrus and it’s so interesting watching him play through

To Fix or Not to Fix

I currently have an HP laptop that I know I did not spend a lot of money on. Had it for about 3-4 years. Recently I have not been able to power it on. It will turn on, say it’s doing an automatic repair because it found a problem and just sit on the repair screen buffering for literal hours if I leave it like that. Tried doing the computer check thing where you like hit certain keys immediately but I know nothing about these laptops.

My thoughts are should I invest the money to take it to a “computer doctor” have them diagnose and fix the issue or just buy a cheaper older laptop off marketplace to ride me over until I can actually afford a new laptop. I’m trying to compare cost to value here. I can try to figure more info on the laptop itself when I get home if need be.

For a replacement how do we feel about a Dell Laptop, CPU - Intel Core i7-4600U 2 Cores/4 Threads
RAM - 16GB DDR3L 1600Mhz
256GB mSATA SSD
14 Inch HD Display With Webcam
Windows 10 Installed And Ready To Use
Battery In Excellent Shape
Charger Included
$80

Dating Pitch Deck Thoughts?

Imagine you meet a girl at a bar or maybe swipe right on a dating app. You chat with her, she seems nice and funny. After y’all hit it off she asks for your email as a form of contact. Next day you received a Dating Pitch Deck slideshow. What would be your thoughts on that? Do you go through and read it? Ignore it and move on? Maybe make one of your own to send back?

Best Ways to Book Flights

I’m looking for any type of advice y’all can give me! Should I continue to book, cancel, and rebook for cheaper flights? Just constantly watch until a price looks “good enough”? Bite the bullet and look into a travel agent?

The plan is spring break 2027 March 6-12th

I’m currently tracking general prices now through 5 different airlines but I know it’s too early to book, just want to get a baseline

Old Digital Camera Fix

I have an old handheld digital camera that my mom used frequently when I was younger and then passed onto me. I used it quite a bit at the end of college and well on. Recently even when I change out the batteries, it won’t power on at all. I’m not sure what’s wrong with it but I’m pretty upset by this. I don’t have any good resources of where I can take it to possibly get fixed. Is there any groups in here that know someone who is fix it savvy or someone willing to try? I don’t want to spend crazy money on this but looking at replacements they seem out of my budget too. Once I’m home I will post the brand and model if possible

Easy Rollerblading Paths

I recently got some rollerblades and haven’t really used them much last year other than going to skate estate once. I want to look for easy paths with not too much bumps and would be good for someone new learning to blade. I don’t have any protective gear other than a helmet so I want to minimize the kind of damage I can take by trying rougher terrain too early. Thank you!

Chronic Stress and Nightmares

I know what the underlying problem is, I am chronically stressed all the time. It feels like my homeostasis is at regular people’s stress levels. My job is kinda stressful sometimes and I’m always busy running around doing things, stressing about my long distance relationship. I know the cure is to reduce my stress levels but at this moment it’s not something I can actively achieve right now.

Do you guys have any tips for what I can do in the moment? I try to reduce eating late, smoking weed doesn’t seem to have an effect positive or negative, I mean I was triggered by my boyfriend last night so I could see that as a possible thing to do is limit contact before bed.

My dreams are becoming super stressful where I jolt myself awake in the middle of the night and the stress is getting worse. At first it was like a really intense game of chess but now they’re becoming property damage, animals dying, and the most recent one was a drive by shooting I was involved in where they started coming after me. These dreams have got me restless and I could use any help to try and calm them at least

I (24F) am interested in learning a little more about the Bible and actually process through the stories. I am looking for a good learning bible that others have enjoyed they could recommend I look into. One preferably geared towards women and anything that might be more neurodivergent connecting. I am not Lutheran but my boyfriend is so I don’t want to dive into the Lutheran side of things just yet until I’m able to fully understand the Bible first. Any recommendations are appreciated!

My boyfriend is not great at communicating and it’s been adding pressure. For context we first got together when we were in the same state, now he is currently in a different state. He’s been there for a month and plans to be there for another month before we get to see each other again.

He’s not good at letting me know what he’s doing and sometimes if I text him it takes another text a couple hours later for him to remember I texted him in the first place. I have anxious attachment that I’ve been working on, but I struggle with PMDD so even if I’m actively trying to work out my issues, sometimes the mood swings can ruin everything.

The problem isn’t that he can’t do it, it’s that he can’t stay consistent with it. I’ll complain or have a breakdown, he’ll be good for about a week and then he’ll drop off again. So I complain again, he is good for a week, then drops off again. Last night I told him I got home at like 6pm and didn’t get a text from him until 2am telling me his friends and him went out to the bar. Like I don’t mind he’s going out but he can at least tell me before he goes rather than after.

I don’t know how to explain to him what I want in a way that he can’t understand me or if there’s something I can do to make it easier on him besides texting him 5 times in one sitting. I am a busy person too, I have two jobs, I see my parents once a week, I mow my grandmas lawn once a week, try to go to the gym twice a week and I’m currently cat sitting every other day. But the difference is I let him know what I’m doing.

After we see each other for a month he’s going to college which will be about 5-6 hours long distance. I’m worried this won’t be a sustainable relationship. Should I be concerned about his lack of communication? He’s not anxious so he doesn’t need the reassurance like I do but I don’t want to be consistently feeling like I’m left out or waiting around to hear from him when I’m reality he’s prioritizing other things.

Looking for things to suggest to my 12 year old cousin for us to do together that could be under $50 total. He’s into more athletic stuff like hiking, biking, and being outdoors. I know there are options for good hike spots but I’m thinking things outside of the box like cheaper rock climbing gyms or places where younger crowds usually hang out.
