Biofinity Toric or Total30 Toric
Anyone use one of these that can share your experience. My optometrist said these are very popular so i am getting a trial of each. Also said the Total30 is the latest in contact lenses tech (whatever that means).

Everyone hates those big erected flock cams until their Camry wheels get stolen. Change my mind.
I purchased a new vw golf in Texas last month and as part of the purchased, the VW dealership threw in a set of all season tires (the car came with summer tires). This was included in the "we owe" form so it wasnt something that I purchased/financed/itemized as part of the car purchase. After some dealership BS/delays, I had the tires installed, but i didn't get any invoice/receipt/work order from the them to use in case I need to file a claim under the 24 Month Road Hazard Coverage. When I asked, they said i can use the contract as proof, but when I got home i noticed that nowhere does it say anything about the purchase of the tires.
The dealership is about 2 hours from me, but I do have local VW dealerships that are under the "participating Dealership" so if anything I can go to them to file the claim hopefully VW as a whole has a record somewhere?
The alternative is go to Discount Tire and buy the certificates for the tires and call it a day because dealing with the service dept at dealership was a total hassle after buying the car.
No ragrets.
100% love the car. Came from 2019 R which I absolutely LOVED. Both the mk7.5 and the 8/8.5 are fantastic cars and would buy another one any day of the week.
Some random things that have happened:
- Check engine light in the first 100 miles. Cleared on its own after like 4 drives.
- Volume/music glitches. The other day volume got "stuck" and some car play audio cutout issues. I mainly listen to XM Radio so not a big issue for me.
- Closing the trunk/hatch takes like 2/3 times to fully close. Like it doesnt fully close the first time so end up doing it again with a bit more force. The plastic trim that has the rubber seal is a bit misaligned too.
- Ventilated seats are OK. I ended up putting a front seat cover because I tend to sweat a ton and the ventilated seat didnt really make a difference for me.
- when I park and lock the car, sometimes it honks and other times it doesnt. idk.
- Rear cam quality is a downgrade from the mk7.5. Its like a distorted low quality fisheye view or something. Not a fan.
Other than that, its great!
I will likely be getting all season tires in the next week or so. If anyone in the Houston area is interested in a almost new set (600 miles) Potenza S005 tires, PM me.
I bought a new car last month and got 4.59/72 months thru dealership financing (a credit union). Are there any better rates in this day and age?
Hey guys,
On July 2, I bought a new VW and as part of the deal, tint and all season tires were included just not installed yet at that point. I was told it would take about a week or 2, but now i've been told I need to wait for the deal to get funded. My trade in was been paid off last week. Have not received anything from the new lender yet.
I am planning on reaching out to the dealership by end of week just in case.
US/TX.
I've had Progressive since like 2022 with 2 cars. car 1 had the plug in snapshot for 6 months and they told us to return it so the discount has always been there for that car (grandfathered I guess). Car 2, a 2019 VW, was added later and opted in for a plug in until recently that I bought a new 2026 VW, but the plug in throws an engine fault code. Support says now I need to use the app, but im wondering since progressive already has a ton of my driving data, will they remove the snapshot discount if i decide not to enroll using the app?
I've been trying to get a refub 15 pro directly from Apple, but it seems like they dont sell them anymore?
Traded in my babied 2019 R for a 2026 Graphite Grey R.
Feels like driving a tank on steroids. Haptic buttons are okay haven’t bothered me just need to get used to them and the big screen.
Took some legwork to get a “deal”, but if you have leverage some are willing to entertain some #s. Dealers are not willing to lower prices on new Rs.
Also the used market is super weird right now. Trade ins have gone up for Rs but also used Rs prices in general…
On another note, if anyone buys a black 2019 Golf R around HTX with 45k miles and VIN ending in 671, know that I took care of her since 19k all stock no tunes, no launches (had 13 recorded the day I got it), new spark plugs at 20k, haldex service at 30k, Odyssey Performance AGM battery at 30k, cabin and engine filter replaced at 35k, liquid molly oil changes every 5k with tire rotation ( Conti dsw06 plus.. plenty life left), clean record, hand washed bi weekly… I really took care of her so hopefully it finds a good owner.
Edit got a check engine light right at 89 miles 😂🙈
has anyone had this happened before? i upgraded to a 17pro and sent in my 13 mini for a gift card. I took the phone to Fedex as instructed and they packaged it all. I saw them do it right in front of me so i know the store didnt steal or anything. I called Fedex and they said to call Apple to file a claim. Now apple is investigating so not sure how this is going to go. I sent photos of the phone while I was in line at the fedex store in case they questioned the condition of the phone, but not in the box/packaged. Thoughts?
hey guys,
My mom's 2007 yaris seems to be on its way out even after trying to fix it. My local hood rental place has a 2017 yaris iA for about 15k USD with 100k miles. Carfax shows oil changes every 5k miles or so done by a toyota dealership. Car looks fine nothing special. Just wondered if this is a good idea or look for something else. Her commute to work is 8 miles one way so she wont be driving long.
I currently have an iPhone 13 mini which I really really like. Had it for 3 years now Batt life is good no issues at 84.
My sister gave me her iPhone 16 pro which is great just wayyy bigger than I like. I’m debating of getting a new batt for my Mini or downgrade to the 15 pro just because it’s a bit smaller but idk how noticeable that will be. Thoughts?
Sup gang.
Had some free tendies in my piggy bank so i figured i spend it on some coffee gear.
Machine: Bambino Plus with a Cafelat silicon gasket
Bought:
Pesado HE Basket
Pesado HD Shower screen
Pesado EP 20g basket
this is only going to be about the Pesado HD shower screen as that is where the hype is.
I've had my IMS shower screen since April 2025. this is the nanotech coated one that is almost gone. Never had an issue other than its a bit of a pain to install bc if you overtighten the screw, water can go to one side or have other issues with flow. Paid $30 on amazon for it.
Testing videos:
filter basket in the video is an IMS 14-18g
Coffee: Cat and Cloud The Answer
Quality wise, the Pesado HD is really good. Feels good in hand. Installation is easy no fiddling around. As you can see in the videos, water coming out of it doesnt look as pretty as other videos i've seen. The IMS doesnt look as pretty either and its never the same.
Taste wise: they both tasted the same to me in milk drinks which is what i drink all the time.
Thank you for your attention on this matter. Let me know if you guys have any questions.
My mother's 2007 toyota yaris ECU seems to be going out so im wondering what I can get for around 5-8K? last time I bought a car was before covid so I know things have changed so I have no idea anymore. I am in Houston, TX is that makes a difference.
Current plan with Octupus expires April 2027. Centerpoint energy area/houston.
500 - 13$
1000 - 12.5$
2000 - 12$
I just moved into a 2bd 1300 sq ft apt so i am considering signing up for a bill credit plan with Rhythm as follows
18.3 - 500
8.3 1000
13.3 2000
basically i need ways to meet at least 1000 kwh per month. Thinking of lowering the ac to 73 all day, more washing/drying, etc. I can track the usage online.
i know bill credit get a bad rap. am i dumb for doing this?
Finally got around to dialing in my Perc Darrrk bag from the April sale and i have to say this is by far the best dark roast ive had in a long time. 10/10 would buy again.
16g in 30g out 30ish.
