All Alvarez does is cost the Mets key plays

Challenges a pitch a foot outside the zone only to lose it, and then is unable to challenge a borderline strike two pitches later which results in a walk. I could not care less about his ability to hit a home run once every 10 games. He costs the team that run many times over the following nine days.

Apple saying an adapter won’t come with things as part of going “carbon neutral” is absolutely diabolical

But don’t worry? If you really want one, they are available for separate purchase. Absolute thug behavior. And they can do it and get away with it. It’s criminal!

The SL Proton Hoody is the best kept secret I hope the masses never find

I recently bought my second SL proton hoody, will have two different jackets of the same model for this fall. I absolutely love these jackets. I’ve never been more impressed with the inner lining fabric of any jacket I’ve ever owned. On a cool fall day you can wear just a shirt under it and be comfortable, and you can wear this jacket on a summer night and feel the same. God I hope these never become uber popular and the quality declines… if they can keep this quality and model going this will be what I buy for the rest of my life

So many years later, this scene is still the most powerful moment in any TV series I’ve ever seen.

I did not poison Joffrey but I wish I had… and I see I’ll get no justice here… so I demand a Trial by Combat

“Then you get to watch her leave out the window, guess that’s why they call it window pane” is simultaneously the best and worst lyric in a song ever

Just came on at the gym, brought a smile to my face like it always does. It’s so absurd and stupid but it’s fun. You also wonder how much thought went into it. Whatever year it came out, no one at the time was like wow what a lame lyric. People thought it was awesome. And then you wonder about what if the same lyric came out today. I have a feeling the reception wouldn’t be so warm. The world is so different than it was when the song came out. We liked to have more fun then.

Rhaenyra’s fit was sick and D’arcy’s performance was great this year.

Rhaenyra’s armor, her eye makeup and the coif made her look sick as fuck. If you don’t agree you’re an idiot. And the idea that people miss Milly Alcock’s Rhaneyra is the entire point of the character. Darcy’s been great all season at portraying this tremendous fall from sanity throughout the season. If she’s unlikeable, that’s because she’s playing the role of Rhaenyra. I won’t be taking questions

Peralta is an absolute disaster catch-22 right now

With tonight’s outing he basically guaranteed any return we’d get for him in a deal won’t be worth carrying out the trade itself, but we also can’t keep him in the rotation for the rest of the year because he’s so pathetic.

It’s an absolute god damn mess

We can only hope the Red Sox’ rapid turnaround is compounding our front office’s elephant in the room

Red Sox are 49-48 with more than two months to go after looking nearly as listless as the Mets for the entire season until the past two weeks.

Yes, Stearns inability to evaluate the right talent led in part to the wheels falling off in April, but it’s another point entirely how strikingly ineffective the Mets have been at finding any sort of grip on things at any point this season.

I genuinely thought the Tyrone Taylor home run was going to be the turning point, but then they get swept by the marlins that very week.

The second highest payroll in baseball and they’ve looked absolutely pathetic all year with the exception of the rookies and Soto/Bichette. So embarrassing.

Just finished the show, curious to hear your thoughts

Just finished the show, curious to hear anyone’s thoughts on my takes below. I liked the show a lot, I did not LOVE it.

I’ll break it down in pros and cons and I’ll start with the pros. I did not read the books, but I’m familiar with the sentiment here that the show is foundation in basic premise only and that the books themselves are nearly unadaptable.

PROS: The execution of the idea behind three identical rulers only separated by age is a novel idea that is pulled off to absolute perfection in my opinion. To have such a potent idea and to perform it so well is something incredible, but it’s only magnified 10x behind the mystery of Demerzel and the performance of Laura Birn. It’s the best acting and execution I’ve seen someone do as a robot in any sci-fi I’ve seen in my life. Pair in Lee Pace’s performance as Day, each a slightly differentiation of the same egomaniac in each season… It’s absolutely electric television. Demerzel’s storytelling “I have been a leader, and a soldier..” gave me chills and still does when I think about it. The idea of “unvoicing” and Gaal/Salvor’s abilities were well done. By the mid point of season three the show really found its groove in being able to have the characters use these powers at appropriate times for appropriate reasons. It was very tasteful. Ultimately the show did really well at surprises, I never found myself at a point where I could accurately predict what was going to happen next or who was going to do what— and that to me means they were able to capture the complexity of each character well.

CONS: This show needed 10 more episodes in each season. Although a lot of things happen in each episode, the time skips led to a feeling of it being slightly disjointed in my mind. I don’t like how much thinking I had to do to keep track of the brothers and who would be what at any given time jump, or what happened to the characters we’d come to be familiar with from the past season. I understand that in order for the show to work they have to jump around properly to cover each crisis, but I think the solution would have been to allow us more time with each cast of characters.

I did not like the vague explanations behind Sheldon’s “psychohistory”, whereas every time it was brought up Jared Harris’ character would repeat its definition but wouldn’t expand on the factors that lead him to draw the conclusions he does. NOW, I also understand that “To see the future is to affect it” and that he can’t outwardly say anything that would cause someone to take a different route than they may have otherwise.., but the only times we get a glimpse into Seldon’s thinking is when he’s like “Oh you’re going through your religious phase?” Or “I see the tensions between the traders and the bureaucracy has come into play”.. I just wish I could understand more about the calculations that were so critical to the backbone of the story

Downloaded this game for $13, now I remember why I stopped playing

Career mode, world class. Completely unplayable.

Script is assured in every single match, my players consistently play the ball to the wrong person even though the input was correct, absolutely nothing can be done if the computer decides it feels like scoring.

This shit has been broken for more than a decade. But it’s getting close to August, which means new game, which means EA’s planned obsolescence is in full effect.

As mentioned I bought this game a year after its release and I won’t be buying another one at full price, whenever it comes out, basically ever.

Watching through for the very first time, something just happened that makes no sense at all?

Just finished episode 9, as the title says first time watcher.

I’m enjoying it so far, Lee Pace’s performance has been as advertised and that’s been a welcome surprise.
Not often an actor’s performance was as properly lauded as his.

So- the thing. When Salvor unlocks the vault at the middle-endish of the episode, the foundation survivors all wake up, then the thespians show up with Hugo.

It’s a 2-1 standoff (2-1 ship advantage) with Foundation survivors and thespians allied against the Anacreons. And by all accounts the numbers have the Anacreon’s dead to rights.

Then, in the most predictable fashion I’ve seen in a long time watching tv… Phara shows up in her single ship and instantly everyone starts shaking in their boots.

She takes out a ship due to surprise, then lands and walks off the landing pad and the music and characters’ demeanors rapidly shift on a dime as if this single person instantly shifts momentum back to her side. … what the hell?

She takes an arrow to the neck soon after, which I felt a little vindicated by. But that was just a super weird, poorly written moment.

Like I said, I’m actually enjoying the show.

But I don’t care if John Cena is the one walking off that ship, there’s no way anything significant would change by the entrance of a single person- let alone to the degree the framing of that moment would like us to believe.

It’s sci fi fantasy I get it, it doesn’t have to be “realistic” to me necessarily but this was more of a poor and unearned redirection attempt imo

Hey we lost again! But dont worry our owner says the GM responsible for this disaster gets 3+ more years.

A million games under 500 with the second highest payroll in the sport. At least Cohen got his casino!

How many more times are the Mets going to let Francisco Alvarez cost them a challenge?

This is the sign of a bad baseball team. Routinely costs the team a challenge in worthless situations and has been right like twice all time.

Is no one talking to him? Telling him he’s basically not allowed to challenge unless it’s an obvious error by the ump???? Why not?

Why do the Mets suffer such incompetence…

Vientos needs to be sent to patrol the DMZ

Dude’s argument for being the most detrimental member of the Mets over the past 2 years is absurd.

I have seen him get a hit when it actually mattered twice in his career. Over years.

The rest and in between are repeated games of 0-4 until he launches one 500 feet against a bad pitcher in garbage time.

There’s simply no way that at least a third of the Syracuse Mets couldn’t home in tomorrow and be more helpful and productive that he is
