Insurance Claim after car accident when you're not liable ?

Hi all, hoping I can get some help from those well versed in car accidents. I've googled but not found anything straightforward.

Yesterday someone drove into the back of me, other party seems to have accepted responsibility and fault as i was basically at a standstill for 30 seconds before they rammed into me. They were nice at the time and agreed to settle outside of insurance but since I gave them a quote for repairs they're looking for me to go to their mechanic for repair instead. Haven't refused but I will given I'm already doing them a favour and I found their response a bit surprising given the circumstances. I've also been advised I can't drive when I'm taking the medication that I was prescribed afterwards so I can't even if I wanted to meet their mechanic.

Main problem is that my neck, back and shoulders feel off, I'm in pain and was advised by the doctor at VHI to take the week off and if it gets worse go to hospital immediately. So I'm already down about 90ish euros for the fee and prescription which I was willing to forgo if they just pay for the repair with my mechanic.

So my questions here are how do I claim medical expenses in this situation if I need scans or further treatment?

And if he refuses to pay for repairs through my guy, how do I go about making a claim without ending up increasing the premium on my own policy?

For context I've never been in an accident before and was in shock afterwards so probably made a mistake here somewhere in what I should have done.

I took photos of the damage to my car and got one of his. We both took photos of our insurance policy details etc. We didn't call the guards but I went straight to the guarda station after we both went our own way and reported it. When I got home I notified my own insurance and went to VHI in the evening when I started feeling pain. Today I produced my license and insurance at the guarda station, got my prescription and got the quote.

Would appreciate any help/advice.

Cheers!
