At the end of the Mirror Crack’d from Side to Side, >!does Marina kill herself,!< or does >!her husband kill her?!<.

If she >!killed herself, did her husband know about it while it was going on?!<

I know Miss Marple believes >!strongly in capital punishment. But—carried out by a private party?!<

The “no gifts “dilemma, again.

My friend’s two small children were invited to a birthday party. Uncharacteristically for a children’s party, the invitation emphatically said “absolutely no gifts.”

Well, they were the only ones to turn up without a gift, and my friend was upset and said he felt like a jerk.

For what it’s worth, the birthday girl was Muslim. I said maybe they had a religious objection to birthday gifts. I told him he was right; he had obeyed the instructions. Your take?

Why was the movie Fargo named Fargo?

I have my own theory about why that was the best title for this movie, but I’d like to hear what other people think too.

I read these two books literally decades ago…

They are Hercule Poirot’s Christmas and The Man in the Brown Suit. I have pretty much forgotten them except that in Hercule Poirot’s Christmas, I remember who done it and why. I see them praised here as really wonderful ones. I’ve tried getting back into them. (And when I was new to AC, I would zip through a book so fast I sometimes wouldn’t realize how good it was until I rediscovered it upon a reread. However, I can’t pull this off with those two books. I’ve even got the audio versions, but I can’t concentrate on them.) Any advice?

Those of you who did not read the books in any particular order: which books did you read first and why?

In my case, I read Roger Ackroyd first because my sister owned it, so it happened to be in the house. After that, I was, essentially, judging the books by their covers. At the time I got into Agatha Christie, it was the late 1970s and I was buying the American paperbacks. Huge numbers of them had special American titles. Sometimes it made them more intriguing and sometimes it didn’t.

Is this an observation car or a regular passenger car? Can someone help me date it?

I can’t find a number on the bottom. A magnet takes it, so it’s steel, not tin. It measures 6 inches long by 2 inches wide at the bottom, and 6 1/2“ x 2 1/4“ at the top.

Are there any Christie books you’ve postponed because the title is unpleasant to you?

I felt that way about Towards Zero because it sounded like espionage instead of the cozy it was, complete with a crusty old family lawyer issuing cryptic warnings, a quiet man from abroad, a poor relation, a mysterious stranger, an imperious grande dame, a doped servant, and jealousy.

I’m old and I’d like some help correcting some problems with my Facebook app.

Recently, when I reply to someone’s comment, their name does not show up in blue, and sometimes doesn’t show up even in black. Also, when I post a link to an article or something, that link is not interactive. They would have to copy and paste it. Please advise.

[Anti-Aging] When shopping online, I see plenty of dark spot removers that have five stars or close to five stars. In my experience, none of them work. What does?

Also, does anyone have advice on how to use it? I usually apply it after a shower. Should it be applied several times a day?

Trying to remember this tea brand name.

It’s an organic brand with “World” in the name. I know I bought green tea; there might be black as well.
