Be extremely careful!

Be careful when cleaning, these newborns are almost microscopic. I spend at least one whole minute checking each leaf with a magnifying lens before I toss spent leaves. You have to check ones that are sleeping in the curled up parts of the leaves also. I spent 15 minutes on the floor with my magnifying glass looking for a baby I thought was missing. No luck. Couldn't stop thinking about it so I put a large leaf on the floor where I had cleaned the enclosure. Sure enough the next morning when I checked the leaf, the baby was there eating

All on one leaf!

Counted eight eggs on this leaf. Anyone else see lots of eggs on one leaf

Also ..all around the eggs area are these white smudge spots. Anyone know what this could be?

Attached

I know this sounds stupid, I really am embarrassed to ask, but I will. Does anyone who takes care of the monarchs, cleaning cage, collecting milkweed leaves everyday for them, protecting them etc, get attached to them. I do. Especially when they get to that big fat stage. I know they will leave soon and breaks my heart.

Lol

Milkweed Preference

I have common milkweed, swamp milkweed and native butterfly weed in my yard. For five years now, I have observed monarch butterflys choosing the common milkweed over the other two choices as a plant to lay their eggs. They never choose the native butterfly weed and on the swamp milkweed I have only counted maybe six eggs. They have laid almost 100% on the common milkweed. All three varieties are planted in both sun and semi shade. Located in Delaware. Has anyone else noticed this?

Question

I always see comments where people suggest that a painting needs a light source and shadows. But what if someone does not want a light shining on their painting.

What if they just want to paint a few flowers
