Would you play a Roblox Resort Tycoon like this? Looking for honest feedback
Hey everyone,
We’re currently developing a Roblox Resort Tycoon and I’d love to get some honest feedback on the concept before we keep adding more systems.
The main idea is that you build and manage your own resort/hotel, but we want it to feel more alive than a traditional tycoon where you just buy buttons and watch money go up.
The basic gameplay loop would be:
Build resort → attract guests → serve guests → earn money & reviews → upgrade → unlock new facilities/areas → attract better/more demanding guests → expand
Guests actually arrive at your resort in cars and in groups. They enter the reception queue, check in, get assigned to a room and then stay at the resort.
During their stay they can use things you’ve built, such as beds, TVs, chairs and eventually larger facilities/activities.
How good their stay was affects things like:
- Guest reviews
- Your resort/star rating
- How much money you earn
- What types of guests you can attract
- Your progression/unlocks
We also want management to matter. For example, better staff/service, better rooms and more/better facilities should improve the experience instead of everything simply being cosmetic.
The goal is to create a game people can keep coming back to for weeks/months, rather than finishing the entire tycoon in one session.
We’re considering things like:
- Resort/star ratings
- Guest reviews
- Staff and service upgrades
- Different guest types
- Higher-level guests with bigger expectations
- New resort areas/expansions
- Quests and progression goals
- Daily rewards/offline progression
- Lots of freedom in how you design your resort
What I’d really like feedback on:
- Does this sound like something you would actually play?
- What would make you keep coming back after the first few hours?
- What would make this different enough from existing Roblox hotel/resort tycoons?
- Would you prefer more focus on building/designing or on management/strategy?
- What feature do you think is absolutely necessary for a game like this?
- What would make you stop playing?
- Are there any existing Roblox games we should look at for inspiration — or things we should specifically avoid copying?
Feel free to be critical. We’d much rather discover now that something sounds boring or repetitive than after spending months developing it.
Thanks!
