So, I found more AEG hate in 2026. I tried to tell him it's not 2020-2022 anymore and this is his response

Brother, I'm not defending AEG.

The discourse for the Mario movies shows the worst of both sides.

If I'm being honest, this whole discourse behind the Mario movies is showing the worst of both sides of this debate.

Like, there's the critics, who treat them as an insult to cinema and some of the worst gaming movies ever made. Yes, the Galaxy movie wasn't great and it wasn't a good Galaxy movie but it's not abysmal dogshit like some say. It's not as bad as some of the worst gaming movies ever made such as Pixels, Borderlands (2024) or even the 1993 Mario movie.

Then, there's the fans who treat it like it's perfect with no problems and get all pissed off when someone ever so SLIGHTLY criticizes them. Easter eggs shouldn't come at the cost of a decent storyline.

FUNKCON X FNF interview information

Yesterday, FUNKCON hosted an interview with Hundrec and PhantomArcade himself, here is all the info we have:

- Hundrec will be in charge of communication once Week 8 releases

- Hundrec also said that Phantom Arcade mentioned in his interview that there would be essentially "Friday Night Funkin 2" and it's coming with the next update.

- PhantomArcade says the development pipeline for FNF is "Radically, almost completely different, doesn't even look the same"

- The LE SSERAFIM collab was only supposed to be BF & GF singing SPAGHETTI

- there are a lot of collabs coming up, but PhantomArcade wants to get new story stuff out before they happen.

- Dave's favorite updates are Playable Pico, Mobile and the Results Update

- FNF is described as a cartoon series inside of a game, while also being an action-adventure game

- Console releases are planned

- Destination 4 will be after Destination 3 (Week 8)

- Dave wants FNF to become a REAL game and not just a internet thing

- Week 10 is Dave's favorite FNF week

- Dave also wants PinkPantheress & Soichi Terada as guests.

- Madness Combat stuff is coming to the game

- Dave's favorite mod is 17Bucks and his favorite mod character is Sky

Remember when there were people saying that Hasbro should own Thomas instead of Mattel?

During the AEG debacle, there are some saying they wanted Hasbro to own Thomas instead of Mattel, claiming things like "Hasbro can save the franchise!". However, given the current state of how Hasbro treats their IPs... Yeah, Thomas is better off with Mattel. Mattel's management of this franchise may not be great but I'd rather have 20 AEGs over AI goop. Plus, if Hasbro ever DID buy Thomas, the fan content would be fucked as they would start shooting it down.

This is impresive

I just saw Toy Story 5 and... wow. It's insane how Toy Story has never released a single bad movie in it's 30 year run. Yes, you can call Toy Story 4 unnecessary all you want but, it was still a great movie.

If you showed a Roblox player in 2019 all of this, they'd have an aneurysm.

It's insane how lucky we got with the Sonic movies

Do you know how fucking lucky we got with these movies. First, there was the Sonic redesign after the backlash from not just Sonic fans, but also the general public. Paramount actually LISTENED to the fans and fixed the movie. That is incredibly rare in Hollywood. We also have Jeff Fowler directing these movies, someone who actually CARES for Sonic and the franchise's lore. It's also worth noting that the franchise was at an all-time low during the mid-late 2010s and the movies not only straight up saved the entire franchise, but also revitalized interest in the franchise. If the first movie stuck with how it was and released in November 2019, it would have done even more harm to Sonic's reputation and Sonic probably would have suffered the same fate as Crash Bandicoot.

Where is the 2026 Thomas series trailer?

I have been bellyaching for more news and footage of the 2026 series. The last we ever heard from it was back in January of this year. How come they haven't shown the trailer yet? The new series is set to release this September.

I'm sure FNAF will get out of this rough time

I understand that FNAF is going though a rough time this year with SOTM VR, FNAF Movie 2's novel and recently, the supposed cancellation of Five Laps At Freddy's but I think things are gonna get better. All legacy franchises go through rough patches. Look at Godzilla for example, he had a rough patch during the 1998-2004, but eventually pulled out of it. Another example, Resident Evil, RE 6 marked the "dark era" for the franchise in 2012 and was able to pull out of it with RE 7 in 2017. If RE and Godzilla can survive rough patches, FNAF can to.

All Engines Go was a necessary evil.

As much as AEG was a bad Thomas show, it was necessary for the franchise's survival. Franchises have to change to stay alive. Even if it's a change people hate. The Thomas franchise was in an awful state during 2018-2020 and the toy sales were not doing well. The old style of Thomas was not clearly selling well anymore and Mattel couldn't afford to keep the og show going. AEG was pretty much the only thing keeping Thomas somewhat alive during 2021-2024 until Mattel could figure out a long term solution.
