we have both played through vanilla stardew multiple times. I have played through a modded playthrough as well. he specifically wanted to make sure we didnt go too crazy with having too many NPCs (driven by the horror of finding out how I accidentally modded in nearly 200 NPCs my first time)

My boyfriend isn’t an SCP fan but I think he would enjoy this one it was either on here or the meme sub like a few days ago and I have a burning need to show it to him

I was talking to my dad about the history of anime in mexico and one thing I was talking about was how the more action filled elements were more exciting for kids and then I was thinking and I remembered there are western cartoons that have lots of actions and what we would now probably consider shonen traits (ie: voltron, he man, thundercats, shera, etc) its just that by my childhood action cartoons werent really a thing. they had mostly been replaced by more comedic "slice of life" type shows like fairly odd parents or Invader zim. the only action cartoons I can think of were avatar (which was heavily inspired by anime rather than being a succesor to shows like heman) and transformers.

there has now been a push to include more action/serious plots in kids cartoons but that, much like avatar, seems to be much more heavily inspired by anime than by older action shows. so like... what happened? did kids just lose interest in these types of cartoons? did studios figure out it was easier to sell live action? did kids who were interested in those kinds of shows start gravitating towards anime rather than western cartoons as the shonen format was kind of a more exciting evolution to those other cartoons than what the western studios were doing?

So I finished man at arms and loved it (although I think guards guards was better overall) now I’m kind of stuck on where to go. Part of me wants to just keep going with the watch series but another part of me sees 6 more books and I worry about burning myself out of the night watch series. I was thinking about trying out either mort or equal rites. But I keep going back and forth.

I love the dark humor of the night watch series as well as the dry political commentary contrasted with the generally hopeful moments with characters like carrot. Idk if that helps with pointing towards which book to go to next.

I was doing testing at the hospital related to epilepsy (which I thankfully don’t have) and while I was there they did tests where they asked me which side they were touching. I was fine unless they touched both sides at once and then I had a hard time telling if they were touching my right side. I realized since then I just seem to have slightly less feeling in my right side (especially in my legs) i never noticed because i can still feel on that side but it feels obvious when i touch both legs at once that there is distinctly less feeling in one to the point where if i close my eyes It just feels like my left side is being touched. Idk feeling kind of bummed about it

so I know with a lot of games modding scenes you generally want to avoid doing things by hand at all costs and mod managers are the way to go. however I am kind of a weenie when it comes to running executables on my machine (Yes I know its scanned as virus free, I just like to avoid it if possible)

how big of a deal is downloading the mod manager? to be clear I already have mod loader. if im willing to do things the long way is it fine?

my boyfriend has PD and his best employee is on the cursed ass clock. if they dont have the EGO gift can they still work with WN after the clock hits 12?

title pretty much. its my understanding that therapists often have to seek therapy themselves (especially ones who treat victims of CSA) but if they cant legally share what they have been told how do they get help from their own therapists with coping?

Earlier today I was sitting down at my desk when suddenly in a minute my throat went from fine to so sore I could not swallow and it felt like my throat was swollen. When I looked in the mirror my tonsils looked bright red. I immediately poured myself a cup of tea and within minutes was back to normal. It would have resolved on its own but the tea definitely helped.

I’ve only had one other moment like this before and at the time I thought it was a sinus reaction to accidentally getting a tiny bit of perfume in my mouth. But I was just sitting and eating crackers and tea this time. I didn’t feel the chest feeling I associate with acid reflux but now I’m wondering if this time and the last it was actually stomach acid, especially since it came on so suddenly but was treated very easily by waiting a few seconds and drinking a hot cup of tea. I can’t really think of anything else it could be since an infection would not clear up in minutes and it would be strange to have a reaction to something I eat frequently.

I have GERD but I haven’t had a serious episode in a while so lately I’ve been pushing it a bit with spicy food and orange juice. Wondering if this is my sign to stop.

so before I completed the CC I would give claire her apricot when she was getting off the bus or when she got out of her job. but for some reason claire has started teleporting to and from her job. I have the mod that shows the locations for NPCs on the map and I watch as claire suddenly appears at 7 am at the movie theatre and vanishes at 9:30pm off the map entirely. because you cant enter the movie theatre without a ticket this prevents me from really talking to her more than once a week. she was working fine the first day after I built the theatre but has not walked since. I havent gotten her to 6 hearts so I cant ambush her on tuesdays either. I really want to marry her (her sad wet cat vibe entices me) but I cant get her friendship up at all now.

I downloaded ridgeside, east scarp, SVE, and sunberry for my first modded run (tbh I may have overdone it getting excited at the idea of modding) and I feel kind of frustrated with sunberry. I feel like one thing that struck me about stardew is that while it definitely has supernatural elements outside of krobus and the wizard most of the residents are just normal guys. a lot of whom you could meet in a small town, and are impacted by general rural struggles.

sunberry village on the other hand feels like its a fantasy world before its a real one, magic being commonplace makes it feel less special when it does happen. and a lot of the characters feel like the person writing them has never really had experience with a small town at all, every character gives me the vibes of someone id meet in upperclass suburbs rather than a small town that hasnt been doing well financially for a while. it feels like whereas stardew valley is a story that while fantastical manages to be very grounded in reality, sunberry is trying overly hard to be fantastical with no actual thought put towards making the characters realistic.

if Stardew is like a ghibili movie and sunberry is like a really mediocre "cozy" fantasy novel that is trying to go for the vibes of ghibili but ignoring anything but the base aesthetics of the movies.

im also not really a huge fan of how it adds a bunch of stuff to SDVs existing lore, it kind of feels like they wanted to make their own completely seperate lore and did basically nothing to try and make it mesh .the accidental demon summoning and subsequent new characters got on my nerves especially. it just clashes so much with the general vibe of stardew.

I have not found him after fishing at ginger island in the ocean all day. am I just unlucky or is it a low luck chance?
