I think I found the one, now what?

I've been posting here and there about my car search for the past week, and I think I've finally found her. She is a 2017 ST with the 2.0L engine with a bit over 60k on the dash. I saw the listing maybe not even an hour after it was posted. There were no photos yet just the description, but I knew I had to go see it for myself. Me and a buddy who knows stick (I'm being taught currently) and is a mechanic went up and took it for a test drive and it was lovely, although it still smelt like and was covered in the last guy's dog since they hadn't even gotten to clean it yet. It's got it's flaws of course; needs a mentos cap on the washer fluid, headlights have an issue with the clearcoat and the left might have a bad seal and is letting in moisture (let me know if I'm correct please) but I'm totally fine buying a new set if I need to, interior is showing it's age especially on the center console upholstery and the shift knob is cracking but I want the carbon fiber knob anyways. It's first owner who bought it brand new took fine care of it, nothing crazy judging by the carfax, but the second owner took great care of her from the looks of thinks with oil changes every ~5000 miles and the only fix being a replacement purge valve (maybe related to a recall I heard about? IDK). Unfortunately most of the driving was the first owner, though. It's got scrapes but the paint is in fine condition for an almost 10 year old car. They are asking ~$17k which I think is a few k more than it's worth but I'm blessed enough to be able to afford it even at that price, but I'll try to work my way down closer to 15. Any thoughts? I'm going back with my dad Monday to hopefully drive it myself, what should I look for that I might have missed on my first passover? If I do get it, what should I do first? it's seemingly entirely stock since the dealership doesn't buy modded cars (although I theorize something about the turbo isn't stock just based off the "turbosmart" sticker on the left side blindspot window, how do I know for sure? The waste gate seems super duper loud both me and my buddy noticed so it's likely this part). I'm making a list of first steps after driving it off the lot so please let me know thanks!!

Is this a good deal? I know far more than I thought I would about Focus' but nada about the Fiesta

I've been doing a TON of research into buying a Ford Focus, but have overlooked the Fiesta. I'm looking for a fun commuter that will last me the next 4 years in college, basically something that I don't have to worry about breaking down in the vast expanse of nothing between Greenville, SC and CLT. I'm lacking in knowledge when it comes to the Fiesta, so how similar are they to the Focus? Same automatic transmission issues (not a problem for this ST)? Are they a different engine? Any reliability issues at high milage?? And most importantly, is this a solid deal? THANK YOU!!!!

How reliable is a 2015-2020 civic after 100k on the dash?

I'm looking for a car to get me through college and hopefully a little longer. I would likely be doing a lot of mountain driving since my college is in the blue ridge range and highway driving to get me home every once and a while (2.5 hours ish). Most of the Civics in my price range ($15k-$18k) newer than 2015 are over 100k, so how mechanically reliable is a civic after 100k? Are there any components I should look out for or models/engines to avoid? any tips help thanks!

Seems too good of a deal. Is 120k on the dash too much?

I'm looking for a reliable and maintainable car to last me at least till the end of college, so cars with 100+ on the dash I am avoiding. However, this one seemed to be a great deal, or too good to be true. Please help!!!

Good deal? the crusty bucket seats almost turned me away

I'm looking for a Focus ST, but am pretty limited when it comes to options in my area. This is the best one I've found and frankly I'm not sure about it. I've messaged the seller to see if he has a maintenance history for the vehicle and list of modifications. I think it's easily $1k-$2k over priced because of the milage, so what money I save will definitely be spent on new seats.

Should I trust this salvage title FIT EX-L?

It seemed too good to be true, then I saw it was a salvage title and am worried it likely is. If I'm able to go look at the car, how would I know it isn't going to give me issues in the future?

Should I buy a focus with 100k + on the odometer?

My car recently died (oil pump failure on a vehicle not worth the labor cost) and I’m in the market. I’ve always loved focus’ and fiestas but focus’ are more my style. I think it’s the most fun I can get away with while have a reliable commuter car. Really I just need something to get me to and from college semi regularly, plus I’ll be in the blue ridge mountains so having a zippy weekend driver might cbtm.

I hear rumors of the automatic dual clutch transmission shitting the bed, and that throttling the engine at low rpms is a prime way to break something. My questions are if anyone has any personal stories with owning a focus that has had transmission problems because of the automatic, and if it is worth buying a focus with 100k + on it since the previous owner might not known about the low rpm thing and busted something. (I’m also seeing like ~2017 focus STs with ~70k on them going for 15k which is right in my price range, but I feel like for them to be selling a car with milage that low there must be a catch. Busted engine or transmission?) anyways, any answers are appreciated sorry for the ramble. Thanks!!

Edit: forgot to specify that I’ve been looking at STs, but if y’all think there’s a better package for my predicament lmk

My car broke down! In the market for something from 2016-2018

Obviously, I’m in the market. This is my first time buying a car, my previous car was a 2010 Hyundai Sonata that was taking me to little league practices many many years ago, so it’s time was well due (235k). I’m now looking for something in the $15k range that I can take with me to college. I’m not sure how much use it will be getting in the city, but I take semi-regular couple hour drives to the town a lot of my friends live at so it needs to be reliable. What cars should I be on the lookout for? I’m aiming for something in the 2016-2018 range. I’ve heard the tried and trues that sonatas, accords, and those sorts are likely my best bet which I’m slightly skeptical about, but frankly I don’t know dick from ass about cars :). I don’t like SUVs, compact trucks are okay but they don’t make the s10 like they used to so I’ll just narrow it down to sedans and hatchbacks. Any tips on what to look out for are suuuuper appreciated. Thanks!
