This season has exposed how far the show has fallen and how different it feels now

Every contestant has grown up watching/knowing about the show, S1 was over 10 years ago. The current contestants were in their early teens this show has been a semi-major part of UK culture for half their lives.

Never has the discussion about what the public thinks and how the show works been spoken about this openly it feels like the entire thing has jumped the shark. The major plot points of the last week have all been based around who is faking what for public approval. Its like the show is eating itself alive.

I don't know how they change this because people are well aware you can launch a decent B/C list celeb career from it and cruise by on random brand deals for life if the public like you so most go in trying to achieve that not love which breaks the whole format.

Some won't care and may enjoy it being a pure reality TV show but in the past there were genuinely sweet and fun moments between people falling in love and even just a group of people becoming friends. That's completely gone, the vibes are awful 90% of the time and it's no longer a pleasant show to watch.

I feel it needs a major revamp in format and the producers taking a backwards step. Put the unseen bits back in the regular episodes and except that not every episode will have a huge cliffhanger but it will build a better show if you allow it to flow at its own pace.

People speaking about intervening in a public conflict who've never been punched in the face

The title doesn't explain what I mean well but I couldn't figure out how else to word it. Until you've experienced the full range of what might happen don't tell me how to react to a conflict between people I don't know. Unless I feel someones life is genuinely in danger I'm not intervening. I don't care about right and wrong I care about keeping my teeth in my mouth. I have no idea what these people could be capable of I'm not risking anything for some random who could be completely in the wrong for all I know. It's real easy to say you would get involved and become some white knight fantasy but the reality is very different. Even if you win you end up much worse off then if you'd just avoided it altogether.

Green has always been the most prestigious jersey right?

I was too lazy to crop each sprinters head onto an actors body so just imagine I have.

There's been a lot of talk about Cam Thomas's 24 points a game and how easy or not it is for an NBA player to do that. Who is the best NBA player who couldn't average 24 a game even with the whole offence based around him?

Has Lola never had a relationship before or something?

The one-sided feud with Julia based on nothing but a minor misunderstanding. Refusing to believe her partner would ever do anything wrong. All feels like a teenager in their first relationship stuff.

Theres so little sexual chemistry this year

Maybe I'm just some sort of perv but I swear there's very little sexual attraction this year. Even the better couples seem to just enjoy each other's presence rather than being madly attracted to each other. Could always just be the editing but it's also now a solidly Gen Z cast so maybe it's because we're all prudes.

You should not be able to advertise horror movies on regular TV/websites

Any 18 that includes nudity/sex etc couldn't show that in their adverts but horror movies are free to use their jump scares and gore which is the part that makes it an 18. I'm aware this makes me look like a wet flannel but people shouldn't not be forcible exposed to these things.

Love 'Triangles'

It's only a triangle if it's three people all interested in each other. Two people competing for a thirds attention is like a corner or just a line not a triangle.

The 'It's natural' argument for cannabis legalisation

I'm actually pro cannabis being legalised and sold for recreational use but the pretty common argument that it should be because it's a natural plant is so stupid. Mushrooms that'll kill you in hours are 'natural', animal venom that makes your skin rot is 'natural'. It's just such a silly point to make yet it's repeated so often. Something being naturally occurring says nothing about its safety for human consumption.

There's no such thing as 'an acquired taste' it's just a fancy way of describing something that tastes bad but you learn to tolerate it eventually.

It's exclusively used to describe fancy food by people who are trying to seem sophisticated by eating it. You don't need to eat a food multiple times to figure out that it tastes good, good food is good straight away. If it takes time that just means it's shit but they can't admit that to themselves.
