Nach 36 Tagen hat Vinted endlich eine Entscheidung zu meinem Streit um das €300 teure Leafeon ex getroffen und die Rückgabe durch den Käufer genehmigt. Als Begründung gab Vinted an, dass nicht genügend Informationen vorgelegen hätten, um die Echtheit der Karte festzustellen.

Der Käufer, u/Icy-Try7846, hatte ursprünglich selbst einen Beitrag zu diesem Streit veröffentlicht. Dieser Beitrag wurde später zusammen mit seinem Reddit-Account gelöscht:

Während des Streits meldete der Käufer außerdem mein Vinted-Konto, woraufhin mein Konto für 14 Tage gesperrt wurde. Am 22. Juli teilte er mir über unsere Vinted-Nachrichten meinen vollständigen Namen und meine Postanschrift sowie ein Foto meines Wohnhauses mit. Außerdem behauptete er, dass über seine Rechtsschutzversicherung und die Strafverfolgungsbehörden bereits offiziell Verfahren eingeleitet worden seien. Ich meldete diese Nachrichten zweimal an Vinted, doch beide Meldungen wurden abgelehnt. Vinted teilte mir mit, dass kein Verstoß gegen die Regeln festgestellt worden sei. Bis heute habe ich keinerlei offizielle Kontaktaufnahme im Zusammenhang mit solchen Verfahren erhalten.

Die Behauptung des Käufers bezog sich hauptsächlich auf die Rückseite der Karte sowie auf weitere angebliche Echtheitsprobleme. Ich legte meine Beweise vor und bat darum, die Karte unabhängig überprüfen zu lassen.

Vinted Lithuania gab mir anschließend die Möglichkeit zu einer zweiten Echtheitsprüfung und forderte mich ausdrücklich auf, Fotos, Nahaufnahmen, Videos, Kaufbelege und alle weiteren relevanten Nachweise einzureichen.

Ich habe ungefähr 40 Dateien eingereicht, darunter:

• Originalfotos der Karte vor dem Versand;
• Fotos und Videos, die während des Verpackens aufgenommen wurden;
• Fotos des Pakets und des Versandetiketts;
• Kaufbelege und Nachweise zur Herkunft der Karte;
• einen Vergleich, der Unterschiede zwischen meiner Karte und der auf den Fotos des Käufers gezeigten Karte darstellt.

Ich habe außerdem darauf hingewiesen, dass der Käufer weder ein Foto noch ein Video vorgelegt hat, das das Öffnen des Pakets oder die Karte unmittelbar nach der Zustellung zeigt.

Für die folgenden Zeitangaben verwende ich Pariser Zeit (CEST, UTC+2).

Ich habe alle Unterlagen um 15:25 Uhr eingereicht.

Vinted antwortete um 15:31 Uhr und teilte mir mit, dass die Echtheitsinformationen ein zweites Mal geprüft worden seien, die Echtheit der Karte jedoch weiterhin nicht festgestellt werden könne. Die Rückgabe wurde bestätigt.

Das bedeutet: Obwohl Vinted mich ausdrücklich um zusätzliche Nachweise für eine zweite Prüfung gebeten hatte, kam Vinted nur etwa 6 Minuten nach meiner Einreichung zu im Wesentlichen derselben Schlussfolgerung.

Ich habe Vinted inzwischen gebeten zu bestätigen, ob tatsächlich alle von mir eingereichten Nachweise geprüft wurden und welche konkreten Beweise als unzureichend angesehen wurden. Ich habe VVTAT in diese Korrespondenz ebenfalls in Kopie aufgenommen.

Aktuell warte ich auf die Rücksendung, es sei denn, Vinted überdenkt seine Entscheidung noch vor Ablauf der Rückgabefrist. Der nächste entscheidende Schritt wird sein zu sehen, welche Karte tatsächlich an mich zurückgeschickt wird.

Ich bin ehrlich gesagt von diesem Ergebnis sehr niedergeschlagen, nachdem ich all diese Unterlagen eingereicht und 36 Tage auf die Entscheidung gewartet habe. Vielen Dank an alle, die diesen Fall verfolgt und mich dabei unterstützt haben.

During the dispute, the buyer also reported my Vinted account, which resulted in a 14-day suspension. On July 22, he shared my full name and postal address in our Vinted messages, together with a photo of my apartment building. He also claimed that proceedings had been formally initiated through his legal protection insurance and law enforcement authorities. I reported these messages to Vinted twice, but both reports were rejected, with Vinted stating that it did not find a violation of its rules. As of today, I have received no formal contact regarding any such proceedings.

The buyer’s claim mainly concerned the back of the card, among other alleged authenticity issues, and I provided my evidence and asked for the card to be independently assessed.

Vinted Lithuania then gave me a chance for a second authenticity review and explicitly asked me to provide photos, close-ups, videos, purchase documents and any other relevant evidence.

I sent around 40 files, including:

• original photos of the card before shipment;
• photos and videos taken during packaging;
• photos of the package and shipping label;
• purchase invoices and proof of provenance;
• a comparison showing differences between my card and the card shown in the buyer’s photos.

I also pointed out that the buyer provided no photo or video showing the opening of the package or the card immediately after delivery.

I’m using Paris time (CEST, UTC+2) for the timestamps below.

I sent everything at 3:25 PM.

Vinted replied at 3:31 PM, saying they had reviewed the authenticity information a second time but still could not determine the card’s authenticity, and confirmed the return.

So, after specifically asking me for additional evidence for a second review, Vinted reached essentially the same conclusion about 6 minutes after I submitted the evidence.

I have now asked Vinted to confirm whether all the evidence was actually reviewed and what specific evidence they considered insufficient. I also copied VVTAT on that correspondence.

At this point, I’m waiting for the return unless Vinted reconsiders its decision before the return deadline. The next important step will be seeing what card is actually returned to me.

I’m honestly devastated by this outcome after everything I submitted and after waiting 36 days for the decision. Thank you to everyone who has followed this case and supported me so far.

Back in April 2026, I bought two sealed English Prismatic Evolutions Elite Trainer Boxes.

The first ETB was actually the very first Pokémon ETB I had ever opened, and I pulled a Leafeon ex SIR #144/131. I opened the second ETB shortly afterwards but didn’t pull anything comparable.

From the moment I pulled the Leafeon, I handled it very carefully. It went immediately into a sleeve, then into a toploader, and was stored safely. It was never played.

A few months later, I decided to sell it on Vinted for around €300, which matched the market value at the time.

The buyer received the card and then opened a dispute, claiming that the card is fake/counterfeit.

This surprised me because the card came directly from a sealed English ETB that I personally opened myself.

Vinted has now asked me to choose between three options:

• Request the buyer to return the card.
• Offer a partial refund.
• Refund the buyer in full.

My biggest concern isn’t even the authenticity discussion anymore.

It’s the possibility of a card swap.

If I request a return, what’s stopping someone from sending back another Leafeon ex ; possibly a counterfeit or simply a different copy ; instead of the exact card I originally shipped?

This is a €300 card, and I know counterfeit versions exist.

Before making any decision, I took detailed high-resolution photos of the card (front, back, corners, holo pattern, etc.) so I have documentation of the exact card that left my possession.

I’m not accusing the buyer of attempting a swap. I simply don’t know him, and I’m worried about the possibility because once the return happens, proving that the returned card isn’t the same one seems extremely difficult.

I’ve included:

• My original Vinted listing photos.
• The buyer’s photos from the dispute.
• Additional high-resolution photos I took of the card.
• (If relevant) screenshots of the Vinted dispute.

I’d really appreciate opinions from people who have experience with expensive Pokémon cards or marketplace disputes.

My questions are:

1. What would you do in my situation?
2. Have you ever experienced (or heard of) a card being swapped during a marketplace return?
3. If you accepted the return, how did you protect yourself?
4. Would you let Vinted decide instead of choosing one of the proposed solutions yourself?

Im April 2026 habe ich zwei versiegelte englische Elite Trainer Boxen (Prismatic Evolutions) gekauft.

Außerdem habe ich auf meinem iPhone zahlreiche Fotos und Videos, auf denen die beiden ETBs noch versiegelt zu sehen sind, das Öffnen der Boxen sowie der gezogene Leafeon ex.

Die zweite ETB habe ich kurz danach geöffnet, hatte dort aber längst nicht so viel Glück.

Seit dem Moment, in dem ich die Leafeon gezogen habe, wurde sie äußerst vorsichtig behandelt. Sie kam sofort in eine Sleeve, anschließend in einen Toploader und wurde sicher aufbewahrt. Sie wurde nie gespielt.

Ein paar Monate später habe ich mich entschieden, die Karte auf Vinted für rund 300 € zu verkaufen, was damals ungefähr dem Marktpreis entsprach.

Der Käufer hat die Karte erhalten und anschließend einen Streitfall eröffnet mit der Behauptung, die Karte sei gefälscht.

Das hat mich ehrlich überrascht, weil die Karte direkt aus einer versiegelten englischen ETB stammt, die ich selbst geöffnet habe.

Vinted bittet mich nun, zwischen drei Möglichkeiten zu wählen:

• Den Käufer zur Rücksendung der Karte auffordern.
• Eine Teilrückerstattung anbieten.
• Den Kaufpreis vollständig erstatten.

Mein größtes Problem ist inzwischen gar nicht mehr die Diskussion darüber, ob die Karte echt ist oder nicht.

Was mir wirklich Sorgen macht, ist die Möglichkeit eines Kartentauschs.

Falls ich einer Rücksendung zustimme: Was hindert jemanden daran, mir eine andere Leafeon ex zurückzuschicken – möglicherweise sogar eine Fälschung oder einfach ein anderes Exemplar – statt genau der Karte, die ich ursprünglich verschickt habe?

Immerhin handelt es sich um eine Karte im Wert von etwa 300 €, und ich weiß, dass es Fälschungen gibt.

Bevor ich sie verschickt habe, habe ich hochauflösende Detailfotos gemacht (Vorderseite, Rückseite, Ecken, Holo-Muster usw.), sodass ich dokumentiert habe, welche Karte mein Besitz verlassen hat.

Ich möchte dem Käufer nichts unterstellen und behaupte nicht, dass er einen Kartentausch plant. Ich kenne ihn einfach nicht und mache mir Gedanken über dieses Risiko. Sollte die Karte zurückgeschickt werden, stelle ich mir vor, dass es extrem schwierig wäre nachzuweisen, dass es nicht dieselbe Karte ist.
