Most playable races are kind of "titan-made" in the Warcraft universe
Well, as the title suggests, I thought about it... And if you think about it: most races are in one way or another influenced by Titan actions and reactions, so to say.
A short disclaimer: I'm not all too caught up with current lore related to the Haranir-Troll-Elf connection, so please correct me if I'm wrong.
But let's start with the obvious ones:
- dwarves and gnomes are the closest to Titan constructs in this. They are just one Curse of Flesh away from being robots.
- Humans are quite similar, with the extra step of Vrykul in the middle. But those 3 races are definitely Titan made.
- Gilneans and therefore Worgen are also "just" cursed humans
- and, by that, the Forsaken are kinds Titan made, too. As most of them are dead people from Lordaeron.
- goblins are said to be the result of an experiment by Mimiron who found Kaja'mite and exposed small creatures living in forests close to Ulduar to it, therefore creating "protogoblins".
Now it gets a bit tricky:
- the Night Elves are also caused by the influence of the Titans. As far as my knowledge goes: Aman'thul ripped out Y'Sharaj from Azeroth, thereby creating the Well of Eternity. Then, a group of trolls (or Haranir? As i said, not really caught up here) settle close to the Well, develop and become Night Elves
- they then become the Blood Elves
- the Pandaren were created by Titan constructs, namely the Mogu, as workers and servants. So they were created by Titan creations
- the Dracthyr are creations of Deathwing. Now the aspects became how they were due to being imbued with the powers of the Pantheon. Ergo, the Dracthyr are again a creation of a creation of the Titans.
- Orcs could also be considered descendants of "Titan creations". I'm actually not sure about what was planned for WoD and what was actually canonised. But I read that Aggramar created the Breakers to fight the Evergrowth. And they evolved to the Gronn, and then further to Ogers and also Orcs.
- The biggest stretch now are the Draenei, as the "Draenei" as a culture are made due to the influence of the Dark Titan Sargeras. But their progenitors existed before. Also Sargeras is not really "Titan" anymore. So I would call them a grey area subject.
- regarding Trolls: as far as I remember it was also stated, that the progenitor of Trolls became what they are due to the influence of the Well of Eternity. But here I am not sure since they changed that part with the Haranir a bit.
All that together leaves just the Tauren. They are rumoured to be descendants of a bovine Wild God native to Azeroth. So the only species really untouched by Titan influence in their origin.
What do you think? Are we all playing products of Titanic influence?
