Do the SA's get mad if they see you show up with an Hermes bag you didn't buy from the boutique?

I know SAs can see your spending history once they are assigned to you so if you bring a bag you bought from a reseller to the store, they might assume you went the reseller route to get it. I recently bought a bag from a reseller because frankly I didn't have the patience for this Hermes game situation. I want to go into the store to buy some matching twillies with the bag but just wondering if they will be less helpful because they will see that bag was not included in my boutique spend history.

Wind blowing against body and revealing shape

Salam everyone,

I have an hourglass body and try my best to hide my shape with lose clothing and often wear abayas. However, I noticed when I walk and there is wind blowing against my body (especially my back) it is revealing my shape. I know we shouldn’t feel so bad about what is “apparent” but it makes me uncomfortable anyway and was wondering if others experience this or have tips.

Advice for “stranger” role play with husband?

Hi Everyone,

My husband and I are going on a cruise in a couple of weeks and I asked if he could role play with me where he “picks me up” after we pretend to be strangers on the cruise one night. I will get dressed up, go to the lounge and he will approach me and hit on me then take me back to his (“our”) cabin lol.

I never had a one night stand in my life and I don’t think I ever could in reality as I have to build a connection with the person, but I feel like this is a fantasy way for me to do it with the person I love and let him hit on me. He’s down for it and he’s had a lot more dating experience than me (including one night stands - he was a bit of a player before me lol) so I know he’s got good game.

My issue is I’m scared I’ll start giggling half way through and break character. He’s a lot more composed than I am and though I was the one who came up with the idea, in real life I’m pretty shy with zero casual dating experience to know how to act in this scenario. Does anyone have any advice/tips how to make it more fun for my husband and play the role properly? If anyone has tried this and can share what worked that would be great too. Thanks!

Once you go Hermes, you can't go back?

Has anyone felt tempted to replace almost all of their bags with Hermes once they own one? I recently got my first Hermes bag and I am extremely impressed by its craftsmanship and quality. I am so tempted to sell all my Chanel (which are nice but no comparison in quality) and only buy Hermes and keep my lady diors.

Caramel dream come true

My absolute favourite brown from Chanel. The small is perfect for both day time and cocktail events. I love that it also goes with my Kelly belt and Oran sandals in gold. Can’t wait to wear her!

Current price of picotin 18 in Canada

Does anyone know the current boutique price of the picotin 18 in Canada? Trying to compare it to prices I am seeing in the reseller market. Is it now a quota bag?

Oran vs. Giulia for narrow feet

Hi everyone!

I have pretty narrow feet so the Oran sandals fit a little loose on me, even when I size down. I am wondering if anyone who has similar experience has tried the Giulia sandles? If so, did you have better luck in terms of fit? Did you go true to size?

Also, those who have narrow feet and bought Orans, did you end up having any issues later (e.g. stretched out too much) or were they ok?

Thanks!

When is your favourite time/occasion to wear fragrance?

I wear fragrance for all kinds of occasions (office, date nights, brunch with friends, resort, black-tie, lounge, etc.). But if I had to pick one occasion that gets me the most excited to wear perfume, it would be going for a stroll.

For most occasions, fragrance is also worn as the finishing touch. It helps me feel polished before going out or appealing to my husband when I wear his favourites at home.

But walks alone are different. There’s something very meditative about choosing a perfume from my collection, applying it, and then experiencing it while I walk.

Even when I apply perfume while lounging at home alone, I’m usually busy doing many other things. Walking gives me time to reflect and really pay attention to what I’m smelling.

I also love that there are no rules. I don’t have to worry about whether a fragrance is too strong, too sweet, too formal, or appropriate for an occasion or anyone. I can wear whatever I’m in the mood for lol.

Lately, most of my walks have been after sunset. Last night I wore Serge Lutens Fleur d’Oranger, and every time I caught a whiff, it felt like I was walking past real orange blossom trees. It felt amazing.

What’s your favorite occasion to wear perfume, and why?

How has social media affected you in your deen?

Feel free to mention both good and bad

Do you think Muslims should be on social media? Are there limits to how much or way we use it?

I love my husband

I love my husband. He's the best man I have ever met, and Allah knows best, but in my heart I believe he's the only man for me.

We have an age gap, and during the courtship he would often worry for me and bring up that I will have to care for him in his old age. I told him that him if that were to happen, it would be an honor to take care of a man like him because I revere him so much.

I love him because he's my amanah. I believe Allah gave him and his heart to me to love and cherish. To never betray or hurt. I told him once that "whatever he is, he's mine". I love him because he's mine (not someone else's) to love.

I am obsessed with him. I like knowing what he likes/dislikes. I enjoy the way he smiles when he teases me, leans back on his chair when he relaxes, winks at me randomly. I love his face, his hands, his voice, everything. Even the way he lets me cook for him and just be his woman. If it were up to me, I would spend every minute with him because I love his company so much (maybe I'm a bit clingy too lol).

I love that he's the masculine to my feminine, the dominant to my submissive, the protector while I'm nurturing, the logic that balances my emotions/intuition. He is the yin to my yang.

I love him because he's perfect. He's funny, playful, responsible, ambitious, generous and loyal. Beneath it all, he has a soft side that only I get to see and makes me feel so blessed.

I love him though he's not perfect. He can be a little stubborn. But his stubbornness also makes me feel safe and secure because I can trust him to lead and follow through with his decisions as the amir of our home. And the times he changes his mind when I plead (usually about things like his health and wellbeing) I know its because he's trying for me. Though its not in his nature to do certain things, he tries because he likes to see me happy.

I love him because he puts up with my quirks too. He sometimes jokes "the other 99% of you makes the 1% of crazy worth it". He's my best friend and I am grateful he chooses me every time.

I don't love him because of his past, I love him because he made me his future.

Most importantly, I love him because he loves me back.

Alhumdulillah for spouses who make this life sweeter and bring us closer to Allah.

Ultra niche rose recommendation

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a truly special rose perfume to add to my collection. I don't have any ultra niche houses near me to sample from. I have heard of Ensar Oud but wondering if anyone who has experience can suggest a rose perfume from their collection? Or from any other similar ultra niche houses? I am looking for something feminine leaning (or unisex but not masculine leaning) and for special occasion/evening wear during Spring seasons. I know that's a bit specific lol but happy to receive any suggestions! Thanks

Has someone’s experience with a fragrance “ruined” it for you?

Before trying it, I once heard someone say Dyptique’s l’eau papier smelled like steamed rice and they didn’t want to smell like they were in the kitchen all day. I tried it and couldn’t unsmell that steamed rice smell from it either.

Saying goodbye to my spring rotation

I know it’s not a true goodbye since I can wear these whenever I want, but with summer just around the corner, my spring rotation will soon be making way for summer scents.

Just wanted to say a little “goodbye” to these beauties since it’s probably my favorite fragrance season right after fall 🌸

Fragrance where you dislike the opening but keep/like it for the drydown?

For me its Serge Lutens - Fleur d'oranger

The cumin note in the opening gives me BO vibes. I'm almost too embarrassed to step out with it on for the first 15-20 minutes. However, once that opening is gone, it becomes this beautiful indolic musky orange blossom. It's a scent of contradictions. Its modern yet vintage, skanky yet sophisticated, innocent yet naughty. Plus it only gets better imo as the day goes on. Because of this, its one of my spring/summer favourites.
