I’ve had a really rough day today and I’m wondering how other people with ME/CFS manage this.

I had to rush to a GP appointment to get a wound/mole-removal site checked, had a horrible interaction with a receptionist that made me cry, and then basically couldn’t stop crying throughout the appointment.

But once my nervous system gets into this state, it doesn’t feel like a normal short panic attack. It can turn into hours of intense anxiety/restlessness/doom, sometimes lasting most of the evening. My brain gets completely stuck on whatever I’m worried about and my body feels incredibly activated even though physically I’m exhausted from ME/CFS.

I have diazepam prescribed PRN, and sometimes it feels like the only thing that actually interrupts these really prolonged episodes is enough for me to rest or sleep.

Does anyone else here get these really long anxiety attacks/nervous-system spirals when going outside?

If you have diazepam or another benzodiazepine prescribed, how often do you actually end up needing it? And have you found anything else that genuinely brings your nervous system down when breathing/grounding techniques just aren’t touching it?

Not looking for medical advice about dosing, mainly interested in other people’s experiences.

Has anyone with PMDD experienced a sudden run of really intense anxiety dreams around the end of their period?

I’ve had them for four nights in a row now, and I’m even having them during daytime naps. That’s very unusual for me I might occasionally have an anxiety dream, but not repeatedly like this.

My period is basically finished now. Every time I wake up from one of these dreams I feel absolutely drained, with really stiff/tight shoulders and neck, and sometimes I wake up sweating. It feels like my nervous system has been working overtime while I’m asleep.

This started after I had a huge cry a few nights ago about my chronic illness (mod/severe CFS), a breakup and feeling very lonely. So I’m wondering if it’s a combination of emotional stress and the hormonal shift at the end of my period. The dreams are mainly about the past and I believe to do with my CPTSD.

I usually associate my worst PMDD symptoms with the days before my period or during, which is why I’m confused about this happening right at the end. I've taken some diazpeam at the start of this and before my last sleep and it didn't stop the anxiety dreams either.

Has anyone else experienced vivid/anxious dreams or nightmares continuing into the end of their period? Did they eventually stop once your hormones settled? I’d really appreciate hearing other people’s experiences because having them every time I sleep is starting to freak me out a bit.

I'm a 38F (UK) and this hot weather has absolutely destroyed the skin under my boobs.

I've developed a really sore underboob rash that's red, sore, and even split the skin slightly in one area. That's gone now after using some daktakort cream. I've been washing it gently with warm water, drying it carefully, using Sudocrem, and keeping some gauze underneath to try to stop the skin rubbing together. It seems like a sweat/friction rash rather than anything more serious.

I'm realising that my bras probably aren't helping. Most of them are not cotton and are comfy designs (housebound with M.E/CFS) , My boobs often sit against my skin and the moisture builds up again.

Can anyone in the UK recommend a really soft, breathable cotton bra (or bra top) that's supportive enough for a 38F but comfortable enough to wear around the house?

I'd ideally like:

Cotton or mostly cotton

No underwire

No back clasp if possible (pull-on style would be amazing)

Enough support to lift my boobs slightly and keep the skin underneath drier

Available in the UK

I'd also love to hear any tips from other people who get recurring underboob rashes in the summer. This is the first time it's become this sore and I'd really like to stop it happening again.

Hi everyone, I need some advice because I’ve never felt this vulnerable before.

I ordered Deliveroo earlier and had it set to "leave at the door." When the driver arrived, he refused to leave the delivery with me, aggressively insisting that he needed a delivery code. He didn't speak much English, but he just kept going on and on about the code.

While I was trying to figure it out and message support on the app, he started getting way too close into my personal space at my door. He started asking personal questions like, "Do you have a cat? Do you have a dog? Do you have a baby? Do you have a husband? Why don't you have a husband? You no marry? You no marry?"

Then, he reached out and completely grabbed my wrist—putting his whole hand around it. Going on about marriage or something. It sweltering in the UK ATM and I was probably so overwhelmed by the heat I wasn't really paying attention to how weird it got.

I was caught completely off guard. I was just in my purple dressing gown, my hair was messy, and I felt utterly defenseless.

I eventually got the door shut, but I had a cry after and have been feeling weird and off since it happened because of how intense and violating it was.

I don't know what to do next. I don't feel comfortable calling the police. I don't think his intention was to hurt me or do anything...

How do I get Deliveroo to actually investigate this and make sure this guy never comes near my house again?

Any advice would be deeply appreciated.

Tldr: Trying to decide between the MeacoCool MC14000 (14,000 BTU) and the MC12000RPRO Smart (12,000 BTU) for a UK 2-bed flat.

I live in a roughly 50–55m² two-bedroom flat. The living room is about 6.26m x 4.41m and opens into a hallway leading to two bedrooms.

Main priorities are:

- surviving UK heatwaves

- keeping my cats comfortable (including a ragdoll kitten)

- cooling more than one room if possible

- lower noise/sensory overload

I have ME/CFS and AuDHD, so heat, humidity and constant loud humming really affect me. But I'll put up with the noise for some relief from the heat.

Has anyone used either of these in a similar-sized flat? Is the extra power of the 14000 worth it, or is the quieter 12000RPRO the better everyday option?

Would really appreciate honest experiences with:

- noise levels

- sleep mode

- running costs

- how well they cool bedrooms/hallways

Has anyone dealt with a fraudulent Booking.com payment through PayPal and actually managed to get their money back?

A payment was made fraudulently through my PayPal connected to Booking.com and I’ve been trying to sort it out for days. I opened a PayPal dispute, but they’ve now closed the case saying there was “no case,” which honestly makes no sense to me because I did not authorise the payment.

I also can’t properly get through to Booking.com support because I don’t have a booking confirmation number, so I keep getting stuck in automated systems and help pages.

At the moment I feel completely stuck between PayPal and Booking.com, with both sides not really helping.

Has anyone been through something similar?

Were you able to reopen or appeal the PayPal case?

Did Booking.com eventually refund you?

Is there a better way to contact a real person at Booking.com?

Would contacting my bank be the next step?

Any advice would really help because I’m not sure what to do next.

Has there been any good experiences with buspirone and people with ME/CFS?

I took my first 5mg pill last night and felt sleepy and then took 5mg in the morning. After this I started to feel very drowsy and fell asleep till 2pm.

I'm still really feeling the drowsiness and brain fog. Could this be the side effects and lessen over time or something that lasts the whole time?

Any experiences of advice appreciated.

Hi, I’ve just started buspirone (5mg) alongside my existing 150mg sertraline and wondering how others with ME/CFS have responded. (I'm moderate/severe) And have been experiencing increased anxiety for some time now.

I had a strong reaction after taking 5mg last night and again this morning. (last night it was initially calming, then I woke up in the night with tense shoulders slightly migraine feeling then today I am feeling really sedated and wiped out the next day), so I’m trying to figure out if this is normal or not.

Would be really helpful to hear:

how it affected you

whether side effects settled

if it helped with the “wired but tired” feeling
