Has the colour grading in movies and TV become too pastel and muted?

I’ve noticed a trend in recent movies and series where the colour grading seems to favour muted, pastel tones, lower contrast, and a slightly hazy look rather than richer colours and stronger contrast.

A good comparison for me is Game of Thrones vs. House of the Dragon. Despite HoTD having newer cameras, VFX, and a much bigger production, I often find GoT more visually pleasing. The colours and contrast gave the scenes more depth and made locations, costumes, and even the VFX feel more tangible.

Is this actually a broader trend in modern cinematography/colour grading, or am I just noticing a stylistic difference between these particular shows?

And if it is a trend, why are filmmakers choosing this muted/pastel look? Is it related to digital cinematography, HDR, streaming, VFX integration, or simply a change in visual taste?

Curious to hear what people who understand cinematography and colour grading think.

Help me identify this Malayalam comedy

മുള വാങ്ങാൻ പോയി മുള കിട്ടിയില്ല ചെലവ് 10000

This suddenly popped into my head today, and it's been driving me crazy ever since. I remember watching a Malayalam comedy skit years ago, but I can't remember who performed it or which show it was from. I even searched YouTube with every keyword I could think of, but no luck. The only thing I remember is this dialogue.

Does this ring a bell for anyone?

If anyone recognizes the skit or can point me to a YouTube link, I'd really appreciate it.

This has become one of those "I won't be able to sleep until I find it" moments. 😭

Thanks in advance!

Can we please have a Telegram Integration

Recently, I came across an app called ARVIO, which is similar to Nuvio but offers direct Telegram integration.

I know there are multiple add-ons available, but they can be a bit time-consuming to set up. ARVIO, on the other hand, is simple, straightforward, and much more convenient to use.

Why do some people get lucky while others work hard and still get nowhere?

Why do some people seem to get everything without much effort, while others work their ass off and still see no results?

I've been struggling with this feeling for a while, and I honestly want to know if anyone else has experienced it.

I've been trying to find a work-from-home job for the past year. I've applied to countless openings, tailored my resume, prepared for interviews, and kept trying despite all the rejections or no responses.

Meanwhile, one of my colleagues applied for a work-from-home role just last week and got an offer almost immediately. Just like that.

What makes it even harder is that we have the same qualifications and similar experience. At work, I'm usually the one taking on most of the responsibilities—implementing new ideas, handling challenging projects, and going beyond what's expected. She often just does the bare minimum and spends a good part of the workday watching movies or TV shows while working.

I'm genuinely happy when people succeed, but it's hard not to question why things seem to work out so differently for some people.

Is it really just luck? Timing? Networking? Or is there something I'm missing?

TL;DR: I've been trying to land a work-from-home job for over a year with no success, while a colleague with similar qualifications applied once and got an offer immediately. I also take on most of the work and responsibilities, while she does the bare minimum. It makes me wonder if hard work really pays off, or if luck, timing, or networking matter more.

What's stopping Indian Railways from implementing onboard Wi-Fi across all trains?

Ik, Railways has already rolled out free Wi-Fi at thousands of stations, but onboard Wi-Fi is still limited to a few premium trains or infotainment systems.

Is the biggest challenge the cost, technical limitations (like maintaining connectivity at high speeds), maintenance, bandwidth, or something else?

I'd love to hear from people who know more about railway operations or telecom infrastructure.
