as the title suggests, i'm having a hard time asimilating to the culture and people here. my last job as a barista made me rethink what i'm capable of. I met some really cool people that invited me to cook outs and other outings, but I can't do it anymore im going back to Wisconsin and oakland you've lost a citizen

as the title suggests, i make low tier indie music and i don’t have any one listening. Just looking for advice. I was told by my music teacher to advertise and possibly invest in better music equipment but i want to get known with what i have now because.

I just paid off my student loans and was curious what the total cost ended up being since I took out my first loan in 2012.

Here are the numbers:

• Original amount borrowed: $45,222.00
• Total interest paid: $3,754.57
• Average interest paid per year: $268.18
• Average interest paid per month: $22.35
• Total interest paid as a percentage of the amount borrowed: 8.3%

That's over roughly 14 years.

I was honestly expecting the total interest to be much higher. My loans were federal with interest rates ranging from 3.4% to 4.66%, and they were also affected by periods of deferment and the federal 0% interest pause during the pandemic.
