Gonna fly on a 777 soon from JFK to DFW and i'm excited about it. I would love to buy a cheap upgrade to a business class cubicle seat. If they offer such upgrades, when will they do so? 24 hours before the flight? Right now, they are offering first class for an additional $300, but I would prefer cheaper for business which is also a cubicle.
I'm the guy who played 50 strangers on a cruise a few months ago. Today I set up a chess board at Dallas airport.
I played 3 people in 2 hours.
First player was an airport employee. He was beating me but he had to leave to get back to work.
Second player was an attractive optometrist. She was a novice so I gave her a lesson for an hour. She was a quick learner.
Third player was a US Army colonel with a PhD in nursing. He was a super nice guy. I beat him but he was a good player.
2 other women approached me to compliment my chess idea.
So, just like during the cruise, pick an area with a lot of foot traffic and hang a sign to invite players.
It was the quickest long layover I ever had.
