I’m looking for something different, unique, unexpected

I want a horror book that feels different than most books I’ve read or the average book

I just read in the miso soup and the complex and found those to be a good start as they are very different from my last 20 reads it was refreshing

Recently I’ve found my old high school books and been reading through them and really enjoy them but was looking for something similar or something that’s an interesting educational read

Just did a rewatch of Ichi the killer and dead or alive and a few more
Looking for something that catches the vibes of these films
Or something that gives a weird late night Japan feel
Sorry I don’t know how to properly explain but maybe based off of what I just said I might get suggestions similar to what I’m looking for
I also just finished in the miso soup which I enjoyed it was a bit to short though

Just watched the killer And hard boiled in the mood for a book that matches the vibe of these films or feels like them

Looking for something that made you swear when done
Or atleast be a bit mindblown or even speechless works as well.

Hello, I have quite a decent sized collection of books that I will be leaving to my two children when I am gone
And I have a bit of everything in the collection, but what are some books you would personally want in your own collection if you were planning on starting a new library or leaving a library to a family member
Also, what would some staple books be that are a good foundation? They can be of any genre or type
I am mainly asking this out of curiosity and I do plan on getting some of the books that would be recommended and reading the obviously

Grew up watching these movies and just decided to do a little rewatch so I was wondering if there’s anything that gives this vibe
Preferably that follows the psychos or killers

I am planning on either reading this book or starting the audiobook tomorrow while at work so I’m wondering which is the best way to experience this story
When I listen to audiobooks at work I do listen the entire time and can space out and listen to the story but with reading I can ponder and think deeper on what I’m reading
I know some books are best experienced on way or the other way.

I have a pretty fair collection of all kinds of books specifically horror and i have a lot of indie books from each genre and indie manga and comics also
But when it comes to horror I don’t have to many I don’t think so please recommend me some I can add to my personal library
